  1. So..., if this is the robe's opinion, it you would be illegal to carry in the Bi-Lo which is next door to the mexican restaurant that serves adult beverages.
  2. That was a good deal. I paid about 80 more but it came with the comp and laser. I still need to order extr mags myself.
  3. OS, did ever get your NBR? I've had my NBR for quite a while and finally put some rounds thru it. Only 50, but it's fun to shoot and seams very accurate, although only shot at 25yds. Can't wait to get to a 100yd and feed it a whole bunch.
  4. “Maybe “O” will have his Civilian Security Force out to check up on deadbeats in the” This will be my only rebuttal to any comments about my post. Deadbeat was a poor choice of wording. Perhaps "check on customers who are a little behind in paying for services rendered" would be better. (How many months is $1000 in arrears?) The circumstance of Mr. Schur's death is not unusual and tragedies like this have happened in the past and are going to be more and more common in the future due to the economic times. It happens everywhere, in the summer and winter to the poor and infirmed. The infirmed, elderly and the very young die from heat stroke because they can't afford the electricity. In the winter they can’t afford heat. I don’t like it “you” don’t like it, nobody likes it. As gun owners and freedom loving people we want less government, but we want government to look out for us?????? We still pay our taxes, complain about how much we pay and still expect “nanny” to look after us. I know and we all know there are times when we need assistance, but some would rather die then accept it. Sometimes, when you're 93, you don't know you need help or be cognizant of the fact that you can ask for help. You may just feel you're giving up your independence if you ask or accept it. I DON’T WANT THIS TO BE A RANT. I just wanted to say we can’t always blame our government for everything, especially without knowing everything about the situation (and you don’t always get all the facts from the media). As a matter of fact I’m going back to look at guns & leather
  5. Never heard that. already sent to two friends.
  6. I need to be the “DEVIL’S ADVOCATE” here… As much as I love our vets, including, my great-grandfather, my grandfather, my dad, uncle and son, I cannot (with the info from a newspaper) blame the city manager for Mr. Schur’s death. Do you really think the city manager or another city employee has “the responsibility” to knock on the door and ask why the resident hasn’t paid their utility bill? If EVERYONE went above and beyond, the crew that installed the “limiter” would have knocked on the door to advise the homeowner what was happening, maybe they did and there was no answer. I may tend to put more blame on the neighbors, especially Mr. Pauwels, who evidently had a key to Mr. Schur’s home and would check in on him often (?). He should have done more for his neighbor; maybe he did as much as he could. Maybe Mr.Schur was getting a little senile and was refusing all the help others were trying to give. As a firefighter-paramedic and my wife, as a municipal code enforcement officer used to see this type of situation quite often and most of the time it was the “homeowner”, for whatever reason brought on the “situation” themselves. Did the city have an “reassurance program”, where the single home-bound resident had to call in to the police department each a.m.? Were there other programs to keep track of the homebound that lived by themselves? Maybe “O” will have his Civilian Security Force out to check up on deadbeats in the near future. I usually don’t get editorial and write like this, but “in wine there is truth” and I wanted to say my peace. Take it with a grain of salt and check my signature. P.S. However, I want to thank you guys for expressing your feelings to our elected officials, who may, do more to prevent this type of thing from happening again.
  7. I guess none of the city employees have ever been involved in an vehicle accident, or the cops would be riding bicycles, the meter readers would be walking and the trash would be collected in little red wagons.
  8. I've purchased a couple of items thru Gunbroker and even with shipping and transfer fee I made out. But now some people think their stuff is gold plated. So when you shop around you, most likely, would do just as well, if not better dealing with your local shops.
  9. Working in a liquor store is completely different then being a bartender. Anyone with an HCP can carry in a liquor store (unless posted), but not in an establishment that sells for on site consumption.
  10. I use these Magtechs from A1AMMO. Never had a problem. http://www.a1ammo.com/products/magtech-ammunition/380a/
  11. I wonder who really owns it?
  12. I saw the "boss" word but didn't relate it to the owner of the company. But you're right that makes difference. As far as the SD shoot, it may depend on who's lawyer could best show it was or wasn't self defense and there was no other choice. And you may also be involved in a wrongful death suit. The whole situation would suck. Almost makes me want to stay home all of the time.
  13. Saw this on Gun Owners of America site yesterday. Already sent Zach Wamp an Email.
  14. I re-up every couple years. Getting ready to join Gun Owners of America also.
  15. But they keep trying and it seems to be more worse every time.
  16. This one might have more chance of being passed. Got it from the Gunowners of America site. This new government is starting to scare me!!! http://gunowners.org/ H.R. 45 (Rush): This bill would require a license for handguns and semiautomatics, including those currently possessed. The applicant must be thumbprinted and sign a certification that, effectively, the firearm will not be kept in a place where it would be available for the defense of the gun owner’s family. The applicant must also make available ALL of his psychiatric records, pass an exam, and pay a fee of up to $25. The license may be renewed after five years and may be revoked. Private sales would be outlawed, and reports to the attorney general of all transactions would be required, even when, as the bill allows, the AG determines that a state licensing system is sufficiently draconian to substitute for the federal license. With virtually no exceptions, ALL firearms transactions (involving semiautos, handguns, long guns, etc.) would be subject to a Brady check. In addition, the bill would make it unlawful in nearly all cases to keep any loaded firearm for self-defense. A variety of “crimes by omission” (such as failure to report certain things) would be created. Criminal penalties of up to ten years and almost unlimited regulatory and inspection authority would be established. I just sent off an email to Zach Wamp
  17. Slighly off topic, but this is why you don't want to end up in court with jurors like these desiding your fate. http://www.orlandosentinel.com/news/local/state/orl-lawsuit2309jan23,0,1704148.story I just don't see how the dock company was responsible for this morons injury.
  18. Wish you a speedy recovery. Your Lt. must be a pretty good guy to check on you. A lot of supervisors aren't too thrilled when they have to deal with all the BS paperwork etc. (One flew over the cuckoo's nest)

  22. You know you'll have to buy yourself a new shooting wardrobe to go along with the the new pinks. Pastel tacticool .
  23. All I can say....:screwy:
