A classic passive aggressive post that says: I got nothing, but personal attacks I can do. This is your first post in this thread, so what does that say about you?
-
A few corrections. It was RRA, not RIA. Also, the major issue was that SA and RRA actively supported a gun control law in Illinois that would have put many FFLs out of business. See EDITORIAL: Can Springfield Armory and Rock River Arms be Trusted for the Long Haul?
-
No, it's not. It's rather unsafe. You do not go to a training class to learn and repeat all day how to unload your rifle. In contrast, you go there to learn and repeat all day how to keep that rifle loaded at all times. After all, what good is an unloaded rifle for. The 4 rules of firearm safety shall not be violated. None of them state: keep your firearm unloaded. In fact, the first one states to treat all firearms loaded, so why not keep them loaded?
-
Yes, they did, at least in West Knoxville they did. I went to check and see if they really did hide them and asked at the counter to see an AR.
-
Sure, it's less than 2-years old and they put them back on the shelf. They do PC both ways.
-
Having a stuck case commonly happens in rifle classes, because we leave our rifles loaded all-day.
-
You may want to re-read what I stated before making assumptions that go further down a rabbit hole. Did I state that I do or don't clear my AR after I am done shooting? What does being done shooting even mean? I emptied a magazine? I am leaving the range?

I wouldn't leave a hot (temperature) rifle chambered with lacquer-coated steel case ammo, as I don't shoot such ammo.
-
Both, Springfield Armory and Academy Sports, are on my naughty list. I bought a Daniel Defense M4V11 Pro at Buds Gun Shop & Range in Sevierville instead. I exclusively shoot brass-cased ammo, usually PMC. If you leave a hot (temperature) rifle chambered with lacquer-coated steel case ammo, you are risking a stuck case.

Yeti might win the Darwin Award....

Already running here: Yeti drops NRA foundation. You might want to read my post in that thread, before crucifying YETI. -
The State of Illinois requires a FOID for possession of a firearm. Loaning him the firearm in Illinois would have violated Illinois law. As for federal law, the father would have a difficult time to argue that what he was doing was loaning and not transferring ownership to someone residing out of state.
-
If he gave the gun to his son in Illinois, he broke state law. If he gave the gun to his son in Illinois while his son was visiting from and residing in another state, he broke federal law. If he traveled with the gun to another state and gave the gun to his son, he broke federal law. The only option not breaking the law would have been to transfer the gun to his son via an FFL while his son is residing in another state. I doubt he did that. THIS is what activism looks like. What is our side doing?
scooter replied to TGO David's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
I was looking them up on WHOIS only because there is not a single person, name, or contact on https://thenccpa.com. Would you attend a rally that is organized by people who refuse to identify themselves? Ever heard of this: A Russian Facebook page organized a protest in Texas. A different Russian page launched the counterprotest. -

This is about the planned and now cancelled Atlanta rally posted by Iraqveteran8888 on their Facebook page. They were supposed to speak there: From a comment by Iraqveteran8888: So, it appears it's the clowns behind Vice's Inside America's Largest Right Wing Militia organized the Georgia event. Who is behind the original call for protests is still unclear. -

This Web site could be run by III%ers that want to protect their identity. It could also be run by paid trolls in Macedonia. Yes, this happened before. In my personal opinion, anyone calling for a nation-wide protest should say who they are and not hide behind some anonymity. After all, they ask us to show up in public, so why don’t they? -
Question on brandishing and TN law
scooter replied to jgradyc's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
A must watch for those considering brandishing a firearm with the question in their head: "Should I ...?" or "Can I ...?". The real question should always be: "Do I have to ...?" Do you have to display your firearm when you have a car parked on the road in front of your house with four guys in it? Do you have to approach a car on your property, make threatening statements, and display your firearm? Watch the whole video, especially the content starting at 9:30. -

How about four (or seven) TN bounty hunters? https://www.nytimes.com/2017/05/03/us/tennessee-bounty-hunters-murder.html -
Question on brandishing and TN law
scooter replied to jgradyc's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
These type of questions are often raised on gun forums by new members: What if I do this ...? Then, someone answers the question and the reply is modifying the original question, and so on. Practically speaking, if you want to get shot by those 4 guys, then go ahead! Play stupid games, win stupid prizes. What the law is has already been posted in this thread. If you are really that naive and consider the actions you posted, then good luck with that. I will read your obituary, chuckle, and put it under the category of Irresponsible Gun Owner of the Day. If you have a problem with a car with 4 guys sitting in front of your house for 2 hours, call your local PD. Heck, once you do that, those 4 guys may exit the car, come to your door and politely introduce themselves as vice police officers or DEA. LOL. ... and your original plan was to demonstrate your manlyhood by 'cleaning' your shotgun on the porch ... LOL. -

I should have done this on my first post. I looked up thenccpa.com at ICANN WHOIS. It is registered by Contact Privacy Inc. in Toronto, Canada. Contact Privacy Inc. is a Domain Privacy Protection service. -

"Americans for America" is a rather poorly chosen title for a 2nd Amendment rally! The National Constitutional Coalition of Patriotic Americans was formed on March 11, 2018. Who is behind that movement is completely unclear. Looks to me like III%ers, but could also be some paid trolls in Macedonia. -

The shooting in Las Vegas was the first and only time a bump stock was supposedly used in a crime. -

I am a Life Benefactor Member of the NRA. As a member, I voice my criticism when needed. I don't just blindly follow people. If more people would be less apathetic and more critical of the current NRA leadership, we would not be where we are at this point. In contrast, I know quite a bunch of people that ended their Life membership with the NRA, including Reid Henrichs of Valor Ridge. They just had enough of the current NRA leadership.
