  1. one thing I have in my ghb with the first aid kit are a couple of mini pads....the right size one's tuck well in the bag pockets and make a great larger compression bandage not typically found in some first aid kits.  I used a maxi pad once to plug a kids head wound when in the mountains, it worked, he looked stupid, and yes he has vowed to kill me one day.   Just say in....
  2. two & half minutes of my life I can't get back.  She hasn't a clue...
  3. Raises the question: Literal or figurative?  IMO, the Bible speaks in both forms.  Could it be that people in end times are so plagued with sickness/injury that they appear "Dead"?  Hmmmm, makes me want to dive in a little more and study just a little harder.  None the less, be prepared both physically and spiritually.
  4. Since I do not know you and all I have to rank your character on is the ridiculous, stupid, and assanine statements you have made here, I would say you certainly like to stir the pot. From all I've read so far, this is yet another trash talk, speck talk, and in general chit talk thread. You have no facts and are speaking everything from second hand knowledge. And usually second hand knowledge is incorcorect knowledge. I take personal offense at your comments on the quality of employees there. Let's see "someone on this forum heard a RUMOR from a very reliable source that.....", come on guys, show a little respect for this guy and his family. Drop the rumors, speculation, and all the other mindless, thoughtless bull crap. Did it take 5 minutes for someone to get out on the range....doubt it. The incident was an unfortunate attempt to take one's own life. Grow up. I can't believe TGO David continues to allow this type of crap to continue. And trust me, for those of you who would "never step foot" in the place, makes things better for all of us. Now give me the boot...
  5. My question would be does he even have to do any digging? Since this is the kitchen drain line, I would think the primary sink drain would go under the house and connect into the main line. shouldn't be any digging involved just a little crawling in a crawl space. even if the pipes were cast iron, which they probably are since the house was built in the 60's, cut it out with a sawzall and go back with pvc, make the main connection with fernco couplings. its not rocket science.....done it plenty of times. never charged that kind of money or anything close. I have learned that some companies see older people coming......just my opinion.
  6. Guys.....I quickly read through most of the comments concerning this topic, and much to my surprise I am amazed at how many of you don't understand the credit card concept. Since we are rapidly moving into the no cash society, as a business owner we must find and offer new ways to get business. One such way is the credit card. This system is a convenience since most people don't carry large sums of cash and others love to write bad checks. And trust me, the consumer laws are not built with the business owner in mind. But I digress....so in order to provide our services to the consumer, we offer credit cards. In the day, we wrote contracts and arranged bank financing at much higher interest rates. So, I have a company that charges me a fixed percent for credit card usage and that has to be built into the cost of goods sold (its general business 101). Along with those built in cost of goods prices are any shipping cost, tariffs, and sales tax (this depends on whether you collect sales tax or prepay it). So why is it so unheard of to offer someone a cash discount if they opt to pay you cash and you as a business owner can avoid the cc fees? You are simply saying thanks for not allowing my cc company to charge me a % of my product just to do business. In the construction industry, the profit margins are extremely low. IF we don't add the cc % onto our cost, then we reduce our margins and work for less. If we don't offer the cc services we reduce our market availability significantly. AND I will dispute earlier comments about "Cash is Not King Anymore"......cash is king, I will work for less knowing I don't have cc fees involved and don't have to wait on my money. So in closing, go to the grocery store, liquor store, restaurant, utility company, and ask for a cash discount. They will laugh at you cause those fees are built in. If you use cash there, they still make an additional 2.5% - 3.5% cause its built in regardless whether you use it or not. So stop whinning about the cash discount, gladly accept it and move on. Any college in the state offers business courses for those who don't understand this concept, take advantage of it....
  7. why not, I haven't been to one of these things in a long time. Count me in.
  8. year before last---2009 or 2010? The policy at one time several years ago was $50 transfer for items in stock, $25.00 for those not in stock. It has not been that way since late 2010 during my pt tenure.
  9. words in red----doubt it.......and for the rest of your comment highlighted in green, IMHO is simply:bs:
  10. Guess I must be ringing up the wrong price when I make the transfer. Lets see, as of last Oct/Nov 2010 transfer fees $25.00. As of last week, transfer fees $25.00. Describe the sales person and I will confront him personally.
  11. that's what minimum wage and high school kids get you. Try this, next time you go to BP, make sure as soon as u walk in the door, yell "I have a gun and there's one in the chamber" and see what that gets you.....
  12. $25.00 gets the transfer completed. Been that way for some time.
  13. Let's review: 1) When purchasing a new gun, make sure you know what your new gun is suppose to look like before you buy it. Gen 4 Glocks have an obvious distinction: the grip has a rougher texture than the Gen 3. 2) Inspect the gun completely before you buy. Break it down. Gen 4 Glocks have a dual recoil spring. 3) Inspect the spent casing before you buy. Make sure the date isn't before the gun was manufactured. 4) New guns at CCA are identifiable with a manila colored tag. This says "I'm new", the blue tags indicate "I'm used". 5) In my tenure at CCA as a part timer, I have never seen anyone try to pass a used gun off as new. I'm thinking there may be more to this story than posted. To OP, glad you had a good experience, it is refreshing to hear good things about CCA for a change. FCFB
  14. daughter is into crafting jewelry, she wanted to throw some silver. I didn't know if reloading pots would do the trick. I have no intentions of casting silver bullets, however, it would be neat to have a few just as conversation pieces. Thanks for all the help. FCFB
  15. Will the average melting pot for melting lead also melt silver? I know it takes a higher temp to melt silver, if its out there - what's the best melting pot"
  16. Straight from the code of conduct: "Members should treat one another with mutual respect. Name calling, flame posts, racial slurs and other insulting remarks meant to cause conflict are not allowed. Debate is always welcome, however members must stick to attacking the issues rather than attacking the person or the profession. Members must handle disagreements, criticisms and opposing viewpoints with tact and maturity." Guess its a pick & choose forum......
  17. ......I just can't post a caption, I want to, I must not......I will not......no sir, I can't do it....
  18. you'll shoot your eye out! Without a doubt, A Christmas Story. Started with the marathon last night, most of the day today....this movie is the best. And BTW, I got a Red Ryder Carbine Action Rifle for Christmas.....some people never grow up!
