  2. lighten up, its just a silly poll to spark conversation.....
  3. did you ever see the orange one's at Gander? I can't remember who put them out but I do remember them...
  4. New poll time. Seen those pink pistols in your local gun shop? How do you feel about those? I know most manly men don't like them and lots of wemen do, what's your thoughts?
  5. there is a possibility you will not enjoy reloading. i would suggest starting with the Breech Lock by Lee, that's the path I took. My thinking was, should I decide it wasn't for me, I could sell it on eBay or on TGO. Cheaper sometimes is better. After purchasing the Lee, I have not looked back since. The single stage process just adds to the hobby factor. Its up to you, but........start inexpensive and then should you really like it, sell the single stage and go bigger.
  6. isn't that a bit light for a .357 mag? I use 4.0 grains for my .38 special.....using 158 grain lead for both calibers.
  7. how many of you use a shoulder holster and are they bothersome? If you use one, what caliber do you use it for and where's a good place to buy them?
  8. guess thats better than "Glock-Butt"
  9. and it only took 2 years!!
  10. Well after all, I did start this thread therefore I feel obligated to contribute yet again. Saturday I started working part time for a local firearms store here in West Knoxville. I will not mention their name so's not to be charged with promoting an unauthorized vendor. This store, even though often trashed on this site, is a Glock distributor. Two of the three pistols I sold this weekend were Glocks. One a G19, the other a G19RTF Gen 4. As I have stated previously, Glocks sell, people like them, they are durable, and they go bang. All that sells.....will I buy one, most likely not. Why, because I am pistol heavy and don't know which I would sell in order to obtain one. And, there is just not that much difference in them and the Springers other than parts accessibility. I will keep my Springers and I will be happy to sell you a Glock, after all - it IS a matter of preference and what feels right in your hands. Funny though, women don't seem to have the fascination with them as men do, hummmm....

  16. great, thank you for the advise....I will try that one as well. Don't want no humping going with my .45!!!
  17. Thanks, I will back that one up. I will load a few tomorrow and take those along with the rest of them to the range and see about accuracy. I want to find a GOOD plinking round and a GOOD self defense round to put into the safe.
  18. these are actually siamese twins, obvious where they are joined......
  19. here's where I say "hum, you got me!" We were talking about this pistol that looked an awful lot like the LC9, discussing how long it would be before a recall, etc etc and he was saying it was the hottest pistol going right now. I ASSUMED since we were discussing the LC9, must have been the LC9. Obviously I am mistaken especially since they are not shipping till Feb......MY BAD!
  20. Future son-in-law purchased some casting equipment, pot, bullet molds, etc for the .45 ACP/230 grain round nose. For a first timer, those are some nice looking bullets. I checked the bullets for hardness like the directions said, and compared to some I had from another source, his are some dang hard bullets! I sized them this morning, lubed them, and have loaded several different loads. 1 - Accurate #2 powder, 5.2 grains 2 - Accurate #5 powder, 8.1 grains 3 - Unique powder, 6.5 grains I think these loads are correct, however, its late and I don't remember the data. Good thing I DID write them down! I will post range results later. Although I had not become a fan of casting bullets, this does seem to be quite fun and challenging. I could be on to something else to occupy my time......
  21. Ok, several weeks ago I posted that I didn't see what all the brewhaha was about a Glock 19. At Gunny's today, I actually held one in my hand, got to fondle it, play like I was shooting it, etc. It seems light enough (considering no bullets were in it) and certainly felt at home in my grasp. I talked with the owner and we discussed Glock parts availability, blah blah blah. I didn't shoot it nor did I buy it, but.......I might be thinking "maybe someday". I know, call me crazy and what not, I may rent one at CCA just to complete my research. Maybe the Glock 19 isn't so bad after all...there I said it.
  22. nice pair you got there! Love that EMP...
  23. all he needs is a set of old plastic or unused grips and the desired pattern and he is not afraid to give it a go....
