  1. you mean down in the "happy holler"??
  2. For all you TGO dad's, what did you do today or what did your kids/grandkids do for you??? Mine started off with sleeping a little late, then I spent some time with my dad. After that, my baby (30 yrs old) fixed dinner for me and her mom which included filet mignon, baked potatoes, corn, and dinner rolls. All this without dad having to lift a finger!!! Made me feel special and very proud of this young woman. Hope all you dad's had an extremely pleasant Father's Day today. We are truely blessed!!
  3. as luck would have it, this same discussion came up today with sis and her septic system. last year they had a new drain field dug due to very soft ground, etc. almost one year later, something not working again. new drain field is very mushy and detergent bubbles out of the ground. I ask when the last time the tank was pumped - bout 5 years ago. Should the drain field be causing problems after 1 year????? It appears I have hit the do-do gold mine with this thread. Somebody....help a brother out!
  4. oh contrare, if plinking ammo is what you are looking to save on, become a range hound and collect all the brass you can. reload with lead bullets and low powder portions. Even at Wally's BB cost $10.00 with tax for 50. I can reload for half that using the above stated stuff. i've calcuted my cost on 9mm plinkers to just about $5.00/box of 50. plus, the hobby factor comes into play. But, I have purchased an inexpensive single stage press just in case I get bored with it, that way I don't have much money invested. 22 loads, no way will I load those. 7.69 x 39mm, absolutely. BTW, you can load some good HP loads as well for almost half. IMHO, reloading makes sense....
  5. grilled polish sausage with chili on bun, chips & queso dip, diet beverage. Diet beverage helps cancel out the calories from the sausage:confused: well, that's my story anyhow.

  7. looks a little "lite" in the loafers if you ask me...
  8. up until the first of may, i was a project manager for a local architectural building materials firm. I read blueprints, estimated, sold, project managed, networked with field supt's and all the in's/out's of the life of a salesman. The company I worked for the last 10 years saw fit to delete my position thus putting me unemployed. Sometimes you just scratch your head....currently trying to decide what I want to be when I grow up, yet to decide. I am multi-talented as I have built room additions, performed major renovations, converted single family dwellings into multi-family dwellings, plumbing, electrical, electronic repair, framing, door hanging, hardware installer, painter, and the list goes on. Husband to same woman for 31 years, father of one, caretaker of older parents, and all around nice guy. Oh, and I love things that go bang & hate things that go bump....
  9. - very sorry for your loss. I believe the saddest day in a man's life is the day he looses his father. This too will pass friend. My father is in ill health and I know that someday I will experience that saddness. Pull your family close and take comfort that you are not alone. My thoughts and prayers are with you. Keep trusting in your heavenly father and you will get through this. Prayers your way....
  10. if you remember, back when restaurant carry was being talked about, one of the local news channels did a survey about carry in restaurants and it was at Litton's where this took place. Most people there said it wasn't necessary and didn't think it was a good idea. My guess is Barry will post. He caters to a more elite-ish snobby bunch. Don't get me wrong, there are many average joe's that eat there as well, however, my money say's they will post. JMTCW... BTW, if they don't post and you still want to go there, we could get the back room and that way we could hoot and holler and wave our guns in the air and act a fool....just kidding of course.
  11. we all have one thing in common: we all pay to produce pooh, and we all pay to have pooh removed. septic or sewer, everybody pays the pooh-pooh man.

  14. woke up this morning and my shoulder was very sore, wonder why??? Thanks for all the advice for the AK newbie. I think the first thing to do is change the sites on the front of the gun, they are a little lacking. Now if I can only figure out how to do that. Looks....difficult.

  20. Well today my daughter and I took the AK-47 to the range and put some rounds thru it. Safe to say the target survived to be shot at another day. Out of about 40 rounds, bout 5/6 hit the target at 100 yds, moved it to 50 yds and maybe 10/12 more hit it. When we did hit it, groups were together which was not saying much. This was the first time to shoot a rifle so I didn't expect much and that's just what I got! Right now I wouldn't pick me to be on your team.....
  21. its been 3 years now.....glad i quit. i quit when the bumped over $2.00/pack. Better health, at least breathing...
  22. so does this mean you can have a round in the chamber while xporting??? I'm a little slow.....
