  1. I would ditto the above 4 statements. Next month 31 years for the ftncityfatboy. Always treat her as an equal, never talk down to her, never NEVER correct her in front of others, always remember she is your mate and this is a dual project. Good luck and may the good Lord take a liken to ya!!!
  2. remember your mothers today whether they are with you physically or spiritually. Nobody loves you and cares for you like your mother!!!!! Few people I would lay down my life for, she's one of them. hold these women in the highest honor and respect. our Father in heaven commands that of us. Happy Mothers Day to all mothers everywhere.
  3. welcome fellow knoxvillian!!! post often, stay late.
  4. I guess that depends on whether you want to eat fresh veggies this summer or try to eat that cold steel you would otherwise send down range. Lets see: nice fresh soft veggies....nice cold hard brass...hum that's a tough one. I'd go for the veggies, there will be time to play after the gardening, besides, mrs oldogy might let you do some gardening of your own, know what I mean??
  5. thanks for the lead and the offer to purchase the AK. At this point I would be interested in selling the AK. I will pm you
  6. Well, today the hammer fell....I was given a discharge notice from my employer of 10 years to the day. This coming 2 days after I purchased an AK-47! Seems like I might not be able to keep her unless things turn around quick. i know when tough times come, the toys are the first thing to go. I have been a sales/project manager in the construction industry for sometime. I read blueprints, prepare take-offs, bid, project manage. My specialty has been commercial doors, frames, finish hardware, and toilet accessories. But, starting Monday my job will be finding a job! I would appreciate any heads up on any type work available out there, I have an extensive remodeling background, I've done it all except lay block/brick. But, I'll do that if it pays the mortgage. Anyway, I enjoy the forum and will continue to post unless the internet has to go for money saving reasons. So for now, stay the course....
  7. They have a shooting range, pool, and bar. I thinks they help the special children and do some charity work. Its probably just a place for middle aged men to go so they can get away from the wife. You know, shoot guns, swim, shoot pool, drink, burp, fart, tell bullsh*t stories, etc. Oh yeah, show off their bling...
  8. Anyone here a member of the Elks or Moose Club off Callahan Road in Knoxville??? I met a gentleman at a gun show that was membered there, and I was curious if any TGO'ers were members also. I'm interested in joining, do I need to be sponsered??? Thanks
  9. :up:That's what I do, I can return home with 4 to 5 x's the amount I went with. When I reload, I mark the head of the cartridge with some purple paint (a small smear around the head stamp). When I get home, I count my rounds and brass to see how much of "MY" stuff I return with. Don't care as long as I return with the same number I left with. So if you are shooting on Tuesday night and find 9MM casings on the floor with a purple dot on it, "it's mine"....
  10. ditto....
  11. my 1-2 week backorder from Cabela's is now into week 4. I'll just wait it out. one can never have too much ammo/stash. I ordered 10K SPP's for reloading and IF i ever get it and IF i ever find some while out and about I'll buy that too. sound's crazy, but one does what one has to do. I purchased 1k rounds of plinkers last Nov and only used 300 of those rounds, i need to refill my looses. i'll never tell how many reloads i have.....
  12. Friend of mine is considering a couple of these Sig P250 Subcompacts, one for him and one for the wife. He ask me what I thought about them and I just looked at him with a blank stare. Anyone have one of these??? What are the advantages/disadvantages. The interchangeable barrel was somewhat appealing....give me info
  13. sorry, i wasn't paying attention.....
  14. is that one of those "push up" ice cream thingy's with a fuse???
  15. could you guys please write slower for those of us who don't read very fast???
  16. There are no shortages on knitting supplies. I am taking this up next. I'll knit a warm fuzzy holster to put my pistols in so they can stay warm. It may be awhile before they get to go out and play. I think I could make a good second income doing this for TGO'ers. What cha think???
  17. and i heard today the Obama-ites are now taking something the clinton administration started working on, making reloading illegal in any form or fashion. I also heard the real Messiah will return in 2012.....
  18. it is my understanding you cannot carry where alcohol is sold for on site consumption. as for the convention hall, depends on who owns it. if its city owned, can you carry in city/local government owned buildings in Nashville??? better check the website.
  19. out as of 9:30 this morning
  20. Customer service at Kel-Tec is better than I gave them credit for. Sent my PF-9 back for repairs on 4/02 and received an email stating it would take 4-6 weeks before it was returned. Got it back yesterday, 15 working days including travel time, not bad IMHO.....
  21. this one could go on all night. Pilot Oil and several other retailers raised prices during the "shortage" caused by Ike. Now oddly enough, they have been charged with price gouging and ordered to pay damages. "perception" is what one see's to be true. I perceive a box of 9mm ammo to be worth around $14/BOX 50, an ammo retailer perceives that same box to worth more. who's right??? it a conceptual value - depending on who's view you are looking from. When that dealer decides his product is worth more than I perceive its worth, then I refuse to buy from that vendor and go elsewhere. I am on both sides of this arguement. I own a small business and also work for a business - I see it both ways. BUT, I know what would happen if I perceived my product to be worth more than it is and the back lash that would occur. I will agree to most parts of your post, others I will not. I will simply state at some point, the perceived value becomes unreasonable and people will remember that over time.
  22. actually thats "fear and panic", obamanomics 101. and it is supply/demand combined with a little hynne poken thus resulting in price gouging.
  23. my point exactly.....
  24. I for one am not most people and I bet you never cried price gouging when gas went up to $5/gal did ya. It's not a matter of keeping up, it is a matter of price gouging. personally, i can keep up, but i refuse to pay thru the nose for something i can do without.
  25. Cabela's has none in stock, on backorder. ordered some on the 5th of April, says 1-2 weeks before getting them in. I think WM has quit selling it, none to be found in ktown. in my daily travels, when i go by a WM i stop and check but nun to be found.
