  1. It's pretty much solid brown but I can see the stripes in the finish underneath. I scrubbed with paper towels and some frog lube and it looks better but is still pretty brown. I'll get a pic up when I get home from work.
  2. First off does anyone know what this kind of finish is called? I have an old Topper Model 158 in .410 and the receiver is covered in surface rust. I want to clean it up and possibly restore it. What would be the best way to start? Is this type of finish restorable or is it going to be gone forever once I remove the rust?
  3. Looks like the 1911 will be safe. Oh right, Kimber is in NYS. Any other 1911 manufacturers up there?
  4. Got everything I need to assemble the lower for my first AR build, just lack the tools.   If you've got tools and some time to make sure I don't really screw something up, I'll bring a pizza and a six pack of your beverage of choice :)
  5. I bought a stripped lower before things went crazy, and managed to get a parts kit and a nice stock to make the lower complete.   It's all moot because now if ammo WAS available, I wouldn't be able to afford to shoot my AR anyway.   Halfway considering selling/trading it for an 870 Tactical which I'd rather have anyway.
  6. I'd like to see a video of someone with three 10-round magazines next to someone with a 30 round magazine just for a side-by-side comparison of the time it would take to fire 30 rounds from each.
  7. I was already planning on getting a lower after Christmas, this just moved my timetable up.   I managed to get a lower, and 3 PMAGs. That's good enough for my personal use. I'm not going to be a scalper.   I'm losing hope that I'll ever be able to get enough parts to turn my lower into something that will shoot.
  8. Looks like they took everyone's money and ran.   I'm hoping that's not the case. I'm hoping they're just having some technical issues, but I can't help but have that pit of my stomach feel that I'll never see the stuff I ordered from them.
  9. I've heard so many different and changing stories on which guns were where. Not that it really matters, but you'd think that would be something that was pretty easy to keep straight.   I'm not going to go as far as saying consp... that "c" word, but come on. :)   Also, isn't the Bushmaster the one they sell at Wal-Mart?
  10. How is offering a bounty on someone different from hiring a hit?
  11. Name recognition can do funny things. If a Red Jacket AR can retail for $1200 and Academy Sports sells enough to be happy about it and Red Jacket is happy about it, then what's the problem? If you don't like the price, don't buy it. You're free to do so. One of the few freedoms we still have. Capitalism, ho! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. I'll be there sometime this weekend. I may not buy a damn thing, but I enjoy going just to gawk. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Other than the gun show in Jackson this weekend, this is what I plan on doing until Monday. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. So my wife and I can quit our jobs and get raises at the same time? He's got my vote! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. Man, I thought Sons of Guns was hokey. The bit at the beginning with all 4 of them shooting nearly made change the channel. "It's shooting a little left" "The action's a little sticky" The younger girl looks like she'd have trouble walking and chewing gum at the same time. The purple 50 cal was hilarious. I'll give it another episode, but so far it makes Sons of Guns look like a show worthy of an Emmy. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
