  1. Very interesting read. Thanks for posting it.
  2. Good for our neighbors in Kentucky. I have high hopes for Rand Paul too. I hope he wins.
  3. I bought a new Browning SA-22 today. And then I cleaned and shot it. It was an excellent day.
  4. I'd be interested in getting together and meeting some of you guys as well if I can. I'd be willing to help clear the range or whatever else you need too, but I'd probably only be able to help out on Sundays. Unfortunately, I work out of state all week and it looks like most Saturdays now too.
  5. If that contract were to supply every single officer, in every single department, at every level of government nationwide(which it obviously isn't), it would be ~40 rds. per officer per year.
  6. I believe you may have taken this statement out of context. Of course the officers shouldn't have to compensate anyone if they were right. But we know that they weren't right, as the officers involved were reprimanded by the judge and the case was immediately thrown out. What I meant by that statement was that the reason the military was so hard on this soldier, in spite of the fact that he was unlawfully arrested on trumped up charges, was because he was charged in the first place. SWJewell said what I meant better than I did- PS- Welcome to TGO.
  7. I'm not a metallurgist either. But it seems to me that the gas would continue to expand as long as it could until the barrel failed at it's weakest point that was exposed to the pressure. Path of least resistance and all that.

    GLOCK 36........

Yep. When referring to cartridges, they are the same thing.

    GLOCK 36........

I'm not familiar with that model. But you should only use .45 GAP in pistols that are specifically chambered for it. .45 Auto and .45 ACP are the same thing. Though technically, .45 ACP is a pistol(.45 Automatic Colt Pistol) and .45 Auto is a cartridge. But the terms are both frequently used to refer to the .45 Auto cartridge.

    GLOCK 36........

No. The .45 Auto headspaces on the case mouth and the .45 GAP, while the same diameter, is shorter than the .45 ACP. And the only stupid question is the one not asked.
  11. That's not an opinion, it's a fact.
  12. Just a Grade I. I'd really like to have a Grade III with the grayed receiver and octagonal barrel, but it's a little too rich for my blood. My dad had a Belgian made Grade IV(price a nice used one of those:dropjaw:) when I was a kid and it's the first gun I ever shot. After he died it was stolen and I just really want another one for nostalgia's sake. They are sweet little guns.
  13. A Browning .22 SA rifle. That is if something else doesn't grab my eye first.
  14. Savage already has a chart of recommended smokeless powder loads for these muzzleloaders and the person who was injured swears he was using a Savage recommended load. Was he? I really don't know. But by following the links you can clearly see what appears to be evidence of gas cutting on the breech plugs of some of these rifles. If the gases can get past the breech plug and into the area of the barrel behind the breech plug where it is threaded for the barrel nut and is thinner, then it would probably be possible for the barrel to fail even without a double charge. Check out this link(of a different Savage muzzleloader that failed in the same way as the one in the OP) to see why this would be possible- Muzzleloader Alert . You can see in the pictures that the barrel is significantly thinner where it surrounds the breech plug. It appears that the failure pictured occurred at the barrel nut and not in front of the breech plug where ignition should have been contained. It could be an overcharge or it could be that it was a failure of the firearm.
  15. It appears that the same thing has happened at least a half dozen times with the same rifle. The guy may be a moron, or he may have bought a product that was not properly designed and it failed under normal use with catastrophic consequences. Just something to consider.
  16. Sickness quotient of 83% for me. That actually sounds about right.
  17. Chuck Dexter Psych South Park Tosh.0
  18. I just had to say that Trey Parker and Matt Stone, the creators of South Park, certainly aren't on the left. They are Libertarians, which means that they are against big government and in favor of personal responsibility. Remember, far left= total government control, far right= total individual liberty. Libertarians(like me) are far right wingers.

    Brother

+1. Thank your brother for us.
  20. I had heard rumors that there was a coach out there that was using profanity. Glad they finally weeded him out.
  21. Welcome aboard!
  22. If anyone should be insulted, it's the chimp.
  23. No, he got mine. I already miss it and am thinking of replacing it with the full size model, maybe in .45.
  24. I knew I should have used this-
