Picked this up as used out of the classifieds up here a few weeks ago.

Wasn't used much , I can tell you that. Was waiting for about a year for one to pop up.

20" oct barrel, .357, case hardened. Short money too, considering the state of things.

Had a Braztech/ Rossi 92 a few years back but sold it. Twist rate for that was waaaaaaay off. Couldn't hammer out a load for what I was doing.

Your picture does not work; its a link to another forum that you have to belong to, to see the pic.

  2. A quick check shows that a 1/16” punch is what people are using, and that pin is tapered and can only come out one way. But I don’t see where anyone gives the actual diameter of the pin. I use to keep out of calibration gage pins for such emergencies. Just be careful; they are hard and will break and go flying.

Don’t you hate it when you try to have all the tools you need and seems like no matter what the project there is always one tool you don’t have. 🤣

  3. This isn’t about credit cards. If I sell, taking a credit card is not an option. PayPal is not an option on guns.

It’s pretty much postal money orders or checks, and hold until they clear. Those aren’t good options. So I wondered if anyone has used GunTab. But from the looks of it, it takes 9 days to complete a sell. That’s probably why it isn’t being used much.

I’m selling some stuff at first that I can take Paypal for, I’ll have to research other options for guns.

Was anything new revealed at the press conference? I wasn't able to watch.

No, Metro PD didn’t know anymore, the FBI/ATF couldn’t say anything, and the Mayor was asking the Feds for money to rebuild.

But unless everything happened in about an hour; they had a person of interest while they were saying they couldn’t say anything.

  5. Normally I would have to assume, for them to release his name, that they had more than the fact he was a white man 63 years old and owned an RV similar to the one used. But who knows anymore??

EDIT: Oh yeah, I forgot; he had a drug conviction more than 40 years ago. (Didn’t want to leave that vitally important piece of info out.)

Funny you should say that. Some should remember the motorcoach I had listed in the classifieds. Well it sold earlier this year thanks to Covid. So between that and the fact I just own a blunderbuss for HD,EDC,etc I guess they can pass my place during Zee confiscation 🥸

My first RV trip was to Illinois loaded with weapons. How crazy is that? I ain't skeered.

or am I assuming something that might not be the case?

Just depends on what they saw. Did you use your SS Number? It could be as simple as a convicted felon that has close to the same name and DOB as you. But since you said that they told your FFL it was “something out of CA” I would guess your first instincts on the DV is what she saw. My 2nd WAG would be it doesn’t show dismissed or she would not have flagged it.

I have a bad feeling regardless of what its intentions were/are it ironically only means bad things for gun owners after the media circus and libs put their spin on it. More push for common sense gun control 🙄

Well I bought my first RV last summer. So I guess I should be good when common sense RV control kicks in. Maybe??

I'm eyeballing a .223 on Armslist right now Dave, it's in the $500 range so I'm not going to cry if it gets delayed. I think I am going to just try it again and see what happens. My FFL said we'll call it in rather than using the automated online check... he says if they start to deny he'll being this case up and mention they overturned it. Stay tuned.

Good luck with that. I tried using common sense with them and it didn’t work. They are going to tell your FFL they can’t, by law, keep that previous information, and don’t have it.

As upset as you were over this, I’d just remind you that until you find out what the problem is, and fix it; this will happen again. The TBI can’t help you. All they can do is let you know what they are seeing that’s making them turn you down; if they will do that.

I'm not so sure. Thinking all this hassle came accidentally too much of a stretch. My feeling that these searches came on or after the 4473 included domestic abuse.

Possibly the change in the  domestic abuse laws brought on CYA in the ranks of the TBI. Somebody or something put further review of records into motion.

I don’t know. I went through this hassle and mine had nothing to do with domestic violence. I’m also not saying it was “accidentally”. I did in fact have an old arrest that had been dismissed but the Feds didn’t have a disposition on it. No other state stopped my purchases, probably because mine would not have been a disqualifier even with a conviction.

I just think they issue a refusal anytime they can find something to question. Some may argue that’s a good thing. I don’t think they should be able to issue a refusal unless they have something that is clearly is a disqualifier. But I suspect we will see some changes soon that will make the background checks even more of a problem.

It’s a shame that Apple has always dismissed the gaming market. I’ve got the wife a new MacBook with that new M1 chip on order. I’m looking forward to seeing what it can do. It’s supposed to be a crazy powerful chip.

Apples give me an upset stomach; so I stay away from them.

  12. Well… we all are merely speculating, as I’ve been watching the news and they don’t know anything either. But if this was intentional, they obviously weren’t trying to hurt people. The guys doing the news I was watching speculated they may have been trying to take out the AT&T building (not the batman building). Of course those guys are also saying it’s been confirmed this was intentional. I don’t think that’s been confirmed, but I don’t know that.

FBI was supposed to have a press conference, but they’ve pushed that back.
