I think its more about sending a message that the people are fed up with Federal restrictions on our 2nd Amendment rights. I wish them well.

But “The People” aren’t fed up with it. If they were; Biden and Harris wouldn’t be preparing to take office. Am I wrong?

  2. They are being decided based on what the politicians think will make them look the best. You only need to look at who its killing to see who should be first. This ain’t rocket science, yet they want to make it seem like it is.

My 90 year old parents are in assisted living and suppose to get the vaccine this week. I’ll feel a lot better when they do.

  3. As No_One stated above it could be a lot of things, but if it was working and now its not my guess would be a bad or melted connection to do wire or plug problems. In addition to the possibility of fire, with an open neutral 120V appliances can get too much voltage and be destroyed.

On the RV forums, open neutrals on power towers at campgrounds seem to be a common problem.

So did any TN NFA makers to the state up on its offer to legally make NFA items for in state commerce only?

I never heard of anyone testing it. A manufacturer would immediately be arrested on Federal charges and if they had an FFL, it would be revoked. No firearms manufacturer would risk that.

I’m sure there many machine shops ready and willing to make suppressors, but after the FEDS addressed the issue; that pretty much went by the wayside.

  5. Its good that this kind of legislation is continuing. But just like the Tennessee Firearms Freedom Act or ATF “letters” folks need to go into those things with their eyes wide open.

Why not? How many states have legalized marijuana when it is illegal on a federal level? It should work the same with guns.

It does work the same way for guns. The difference being is that the Feds have chosen to back-off on pot offenders; but that could change any day, although not likely in the next 4 years. The Feds have made it absolutely clear they will not back-off on firearms offenders. When the TFFA passed, because I hold a C&R, I got a letter from the Feds saying they would prosecute me, or any manufacturers for any violation of Federal law.

Never heard of it, but a few minutes scanning through their website reveals it's an escrow service specifically directed at online gun sales.  I suppose it's useful if you're buying a gun from an unknown seller with little or no feedback.  I've never had any problems making purchases online, albeit I typically buy from sellers with good feedback and the vast majority of my transactions have been for C&R firearms.  These don't seem to be plagued with as many problems as modern gun sales anyway ...

I’ve got a couple of guns that I want to sell on GB, but without the ability to accept a credit card or use GB checkout; I doubt many would want to buy from an unknown source. This looks like something that might help.

I also hold a C&R, but those aren’t what these are. I mostly sell here, but I have a couple that aren’t going to sell here. I’m not complaining; that’s just the way it is. Either my price is too high, or its because I won’t travel, or its something no one wants, or they think I’m an azzhat. Could be any of those or be all of those. 🤣

I just noticed it today, so I’m just curious if anyone has used it.

Apparently there is some confusion because O.J had one just like it but the one he actually ran from the cops in didn't belong to him. The getaway Bronco is still around

No confusion on my part. As I said above, AJ Cowlings Bronco (The famous pursuit Bronco) is on display in Pigeon Forge. But there are news stories that say OJ’s Bronco (the blood stained Bronco) being held as evidence was destroyed. I was just wondering out loud how they justify destroying someone’s personal property after a not guilty verdict??

The sheriff has great leeway in saying “I will not comply”,  the chief of police does not.

And that’s a big problem. But I believe that while a Police Chief may have to take lawful orders from a Mayor or City Council they can’t hide behind that when the orders are unlawful. I believe the failure to act by Chiefs, Sheriff’s and even Officers and Deputies was criminal acts. However, when there is no one to hold them legally accountable; I guess they can do whatever they like.

Since when did a local law-enforcement official become required to enforce federal law?

They aren’t and I didn’t say that or imply it. You know yourself that if the Feds want to make an arrest on a weapons violation; they will do it. With or without the help of local law enforcement.

Using discretion in what they will/won’t make arrests on is something very different from obstructing Federal Agents.

I'm not disputing that. I wanted to stress the point local PD won't be waiting for orders from the fed go kick in doors of their friends and neighbors. Many here and abroad think all sheriffs dept everywhere are just as excited as the antigunners to disarm the gun owners.

I also wasn’t talking about kicking in doors or violating Constitutional Rights. If the Feds are coming to your house on Federal weapons charges; they will have a warrant.

I’ve said before that cops or feds won’t be involved in large scale confiscation. But after what I saw this year with coward cops standing down while businesses were being burned and innocent citizens being brutality attacked and even killed; anything can happen. Especially with people like Biden/Harris in charge.

  10. Lets be realistic. Whether someone agrees with it or not; your local Police or County Sherriff has zero ability to protect anyone from Federal agents of the ATF. That’s just a fact. Sure they can tell their Officers to not arrest anyone on weapons charges, but that doesn’t help when its not their Officers doing the cuffing and stuffing.

    Never underestimate the enemy.

An Officer, Deputy, Chief or Sherriff may have a different opinion when they are facing Federal charges or facing losing their jobs.

  11. We have seen that while masks may help; they certainly aren’t the answer. But I guess if that is all you got….that’s all you got.

Most of us that want to take the vaccine won’t see it until summer; so many more are going to die. Half the population says they don’t want to take it; so this will be with us for a long time.

I wonder what the “Covid Task Force” or the “Experts” are saying about the virus mutating and the impact of that on the vaccines they claim are being distributed now?

  12. I hope David or none of the administrators or mods take this the wrong way; I’m not questioning anyone’s authority or trying to tell anyone how to do anything.

I truly enjoy this forum and have been here since the beginning. Yes, I’ve had my bumps in the road and have had to adjust a few times. I am a former cop and I really have to watch what I say on that subject.

I am involved in the day to day guns topics, and I have shared my experiences and tried to help others with their gun issues when I can.

But many of us involved with firearms and firearms collecting take politics and freedoms as seriously as we take our 2nd amendment issues.

When the politics forum was shut down for awhile I had to go to other forums if I wanted to discuss those issues. I would have rather done that right here with local people that I have come to know. I suspect participation here dropped off, but that’s just a guess; I don’t know that. It doesn’t appear to me we have the participation now we had a few years ago.

I think many here, like me right now, many be hesitant to speak out on this issue. The “I don’t like the politics section” folks speak out more than we do; but I think they are a very small minority. But our country is sharply divided, more so than I have ever seen it, right down the middle. It’s on our minds everyday and we want to discuss it. I just don’t understand why they complain. The political discussions feeds aren’t even shown in the “Unread Topics”. We are isolated. So if someone is in one of those threads; they had to seek them out intentionally. I don’t get it… if you are going to get upset and disturbed talking about Trump… don’t click on that thread. If you are upset with me because I support him; we are half the population. Discussion, debate, or argument; its just information, do with it what you will.

Again…I feel like I’m walking on thin ice here; but I believe most folks here would rather have their discussions here; whether that be about their latest gun acquisition or the current state of politics.

    Thanks,

    Dave

  13. The thought that they aren’t making ammunition or that they are storing it in secret warehouses is ridiculous. 🙃

I constantly see people ask why they simply add more machines? Because they can’t justify the cost. When the latest “drama” in the firearms/ammo market is over, those machines would be sitting idle.

I was reading the other day where part of Smith & Wesson was shut down due to employees with Covid. That takes a toll on production, because most of those jobs are skilled trades with specialized training. They can’t just go hire people off the street and have them hit the ground running.

My wife works in the food industry. They usually are slow the first of the year and allow employees to take a bunch of time off if they want it. Not this year. They have been working overtime like crazy and it will continue for the foreseeable future. They too have been hit hard by Covid.
