  1. I have mixed feelings about this. It is idiotic to ride around with a gun in the glove box or shoved under a seat, but I disagree with “YOU SHOULD ABSOLUTELY NEVER LEAVE A GUN IN THE CAR.” A group of us usually go eat after an IDPA or USPSA match. I typically have a pair of tuned up gamer guns and a range bag with $1k+ of gear. I can’t lock up all this stuff, so I won’t go eat just anywhere and I park where I can watch my vehicle. I occasionally use a console safe and I do realize it’s not foolproof, but will protect against the typical Shelby County car burglar. Like someone mentioned above, the no force of law for posted locations needs to be passed yesterday. It MUST be passed before long gun carry. If long gun carry passes first, no force of law is out the window forever.
  2. Safer than what? If they had done five minutes of research, they would have found that Germantown Parkway through Cordova has been a hotbed of car thefts/break-ins.
  3. Getting away from punishing lawbreakers and becoming a more coddle-the-felons jurisdiction has made things worse in Shelby County.
  4. Or a grip safety not disengaged, or a round not chambered, or a 15 pound DA first shot that took the guy by surprise, or a slightly dislodged magazine that activated a magazine disconnect, or a SA with the hammer down, or gun out of battery -- who knows. The guy seemed a little out of it and I doubt he is any sort of pistolero.
  5. Not sure who the bald guy was, but if it was Tom, no shock there. He can be a bit…what’s the word…abrasive. I used to shoot IDPA with a bunch of Rangemaster instructors back in the day and they seemed to be the only show in town who used the last hour or two of carry permit class to work with some of the newer gunowners and go over some basic skills, instead of keeping everybody there the mandatory eight hours by telling stories.
  6. I don’t own a Kimber, but I used to have one and I’ll never own one again. What a POS, but it was a sample of one. After watching more than a few of them burp, choke, puke, gag, and take a dump in numerous IDPA and USPSA matches over the years, I’ll DAMN SURE never own one again. The old ones seem to be good guns, but good luck finding one. FWIW, I didn’t see the gun jam in the video and I suspect the would-be shooter simply didn’t know what he was doing, but it’s always fun to rile up the Kimber fanboys.
  7. Nice shooting! The only defensive firearms training I have ever taken was with Tom Givens. He is definitely no-nonsense.
  8. Just another Kimber in action.
  9. Exactly. A personal courier would be cool, but probably EXPEN$IVE.
  10. I should be there unless something at work explodes that day.
  11. A friend and I both have this same rifle and they will shoot the lights out. GLWS
  12. Yep, it had a can. It was me and one other guy on the right side. When I left, he was shooting an 03 Springfield. Sounds like we just missed each other.
  13. 50 or 100? I was on the right side 100 yard range (not the concrete benches) from maybe 815-1115. I was the guy who couldn't hit the floor with my 6mm AR
  14. Were you at MSSA today? I left there two hours ago.
  15. Gotcha, I didn’t know that. Further proof that all the bedwetting about blood in the streets is nonsense.
  16. This could benefit private schools, whom some people argued should not get SROs because they are not publicly funded (not sure why that would matter). The same people would also argue that the private school can't arm itself.
  17. I saw our first one today. It was too fast to even see what color it was.
  18. It is peculiar how the left is not shrieking about “another mass shooting.”
  19. The best carry ammo is probably whatever known brand hollow point functions 100% in your carry gun and is fairly accurate that you can find and afford. You can obsess over ballistics and gel tests, but the fact is that most handguns suck for stopping bad guys. Their great virtue is that they are very portable and you can have it with you almost everywhere you go. Having said all that, I carry Hornady Critical Defense 115 or Federal HST 124. They are fairly common and I don't want to have to find and test a new round because my ammo is exotic, hard to find, or always out of stock.
  20. When you hold the gun sideways and shove the gun forward with each shot, all while grabbing your crotch, well, accuracy can be a bit less than perfect. They just need to get a red dot.
  21. What was it that the guy in Game of Thrones said to Viserys? "A Dothraki wedding without at least three deaths is considered a dull affair."
  22. Wilson 47D
  23. I want to say Blackhawk modified the Serpa design years ago and the release no longer lines up your finger over the trigger. Hopefully they did. Years ago I saw a guy ND with a Serpa and he put a hole in his pants near his hip and a second much longer hole/rip near his shin. The bullet went into the ground an inch from his foot. He bought some new pants on the way home to hide his adventures from his wife.
  24. Check Sportsmans Warehouse in Southaven occasionally. I recently bought primers there for $65/thousand.
  25. I'll take it. PM sent
