  1. My surgery was Tuesday (rotator cuff/labrum) and I took my last Oxy Thursday night. I was still having some pain, but I didn't like the weird feeling in my eyes, I was feeling itchy, and I was tired of the worms. I have no idea how people get addicted to that stuff, but everybody is different. Give three guys tequila and one is sleepy, one has the happiest day of his life, and the third wants to fight Hulk Hogan.
  2. I think we watched the first two episodes the night of my surgery and I should probably re-watch them. I started the Oxycodone that night and kept dreaming about worms. Not sure if it was the show or the Oxy lol.
  3. I can think of several shows that were pretty good for three seasons or so, and then lost something and became ridiculous. I'm in the minority, but I think Yellowstone has run its course. Breaking Bad and Game of Thrones were (IMO) exceptions.
  4. I've seen the first two episodes of The Last of Us and liked it. I can't watch the third one without my wife lol. I watched three of the four? seasons of The Sinner. Offbeat, but interesting. Bill Pullman has come a long way since Independence Day.
  5. I have not, but people have suggested it in the past. I prefer a TV series that is more or less one gigantic movie split into episodes and seasons (like say Breaking Bad), as opposed to shows that have nothing to do with last week's episode. Where does Longmire fall?
  6. At home recovering from surgery and looking for something to watch. I'm not a big TV person, but have access to Netflix, Hulu, Amazon Prime, and HBO Max (my wife likes TV). I can't find much that looks interesting. Half of them are about cheesy CIA plots that would probably make real CIA types roll their eyes. I'm a competitive shooter and quickly get irritated with shows that depict improbable shots by people with teacup grips or people constantly racking slides. Any suggestions or is just about everything dumb?
  7. I guess Chinese bombers can now assume safe passage across the US because MUH DEBRIS
  8. Supposedly it was discovered over Alaska, which is 2.5x the size of Texas and has a smaller population than Shelby County. I'll bet a suitable area to shoot it down over Alaska could have been quickly identified. Biden claims he wasn't notified about the balloon until several days later and wanted it shot down immediately, but was apparently vetoed. Assuming he is telling the truth and assuming he is actually in charge, Biden should have some DoD heads on a platter. China made the US look like incompetent idiots, and they are probably not finished.
  9. Whether we shot it down over MT or SC or the ocean or shot it down at all is irrelevant. The only question that matters is why was it allowed near our country? Our southern border is no longer a border. I guess air sovereignty is next to go.
  10. Perhaps it really did accidentally end up over the US. Or possibly a belligerent Chinese government is just thumbing its nose at an incompetent American one. My dad was on an aircraft carrier in the Pacific in the early 60s. He said they would do a bunch of launch and recovery and turn every electrical gadget on full blast and then run wide open toward the Russian coast a couple hundred miles out and then go ice cold stone silent. They weren't even allowed to use an electric razor. The Russians would freak out and send half the Soviet navy out to figure out where the American carrier went. The Russians played the same game off the California coast. The balloon thing strikes me as the grandchild of this geopolitical UNO the Navy used to play (and I'm sure still do), except China"s intentions may be a little different.
  11. I'm thinking if I hike to the top of Mt Leconte, I could nail this thing with my 6mm BMG as it passes over. https://www.fox13memphis.com/news/trending/north-carolina-police-urge-residents-not-take-potshots-chinese-spy-balloon/UNPYNPJKDBDLXGFEMFTPWF7ZWM/
  12. I used to be a delivery driver and had a psychic on my route, but she never got anything. One day she finally did, but she was closed. I came back the next day and she had left a note on her door that said, "Please come back tomorrow and call me 15 minutes before you get here." My smartass DNA came out and I wrote on her note, "You call me 15 minutes before I get here." She came and picked up her package the next day and I never saw her. I always wondered if she got a laugh out of it or put some kind of voodoo curse on me.
  13. I was referring to police and non-police related cases. It's now pretty much impossible for any of them to get an impartial jury. Steve Farese may take their cases pro-bono because sometimes, that's just how he rolls.
  14. Yes and the Ballins are Olympic gold medalists at muddying the water (which is their job). I also wonder how these high-power defenses are funded (not just in this case).
  15. A new gun is never a bad thing but he had better watch his back - $790 for a new Montefeltro is THEFT lol
  16. I was wondering the same thing. CJ Davis said there was no probable cause to stop him - wouldn't dash cams confirm or repudiate this? I guess they saved that for the inevitable courtroom karate. It looks like one of the arrested has hired Blake Ballin. I figured Farese and/or a Ballin would show up. Gonna be interesting.
  17. A day late and a dollar short and due to Bill Lee, not the city council. I still suspect Shelby County residents and especially Memphians are given preference.
  18. Some things are more important than improving hiring practices. https://wreg.com/news/memphis-city-council-overrides-mayors-veto-keeps-police-residency-referendum-off-ballots/
  19. I read 2001 somewhere, but that could have been a typo.
  20. I agree and don’t want to engage in spreading rumors, but Davis’ statement is baffling.
  21. If it is the case and this is not what it seems and Davis and Mulroy know and are worried about imminent riots, they need to have a press conference quick, fast, and in a hurry.
  22. I heard that too from a friend and figured it was a BS rumor and refused to mention it. Now I wonder.
  23. The police chief announced that there was no evidence of probable cause for a traffic stop. What the hell does that mean? Why would the police chief say that? Why would she say it out loud? Why did they stop him? What exactly do we have here? Is this something other than straightforward police brutality? Did Nichols and one or more of the officers already know each other? Her statement definitely makes me wonder what exactly the hell happened and why.
