Somehow I dont think you'll make premier spot on the Welcome Wagon....
-
I assume you shop there because you like it and it is the best alternative for you. You made a choice to OC knowing it could result in your being asked not to come back and that's what happened. So now you have to find another store and hope history doesnt repeat itself or else you'll be getting your groceries at the BubbaMart. OK. Your decision. You made whatever "point" you wanted to make. Hope it was worth it. This is why I carry concealed for the most part.

For the next step up from stock mil spec 1911 this one is pretty good. I have not seen the RIA Enhanced Tacticals but I have a Taurus and for $550 or so I dont think you can find anything better.
-
Big ole Plus One on that. I have never used them but hear that's Ruger customer support is excellent. I know that is the case with Smith&Wesson and SIG. This is something people dont consider when buying. That customer support costs money and adds value, thus the gun is more expensive. Taurus, otoh, has the lousiest, crappiest customer support I have probably ever seen. I have waited over a year for a thumbpiece and screw for a revolver.

No, no. You claimed implicitly that the gov't was the same, not that it had similar qualities. I am still questioning that. As for what I am doing here, family obligations. We all got 'em. As for BATFE, while they have some agents who are morons and totally ignorant of what their job is, overall they are par for the course. I do not think they have a mission to put all gun dealers out of business. That would be counterproductive since they would be out of a job.

So "the government" of today is identical to "the government" of 1986?? Yes, the bill passed in 1986 was a dreadful failure. It promised stronger enforcement with sanctions against employers. No it didnt work. So why does anyone think doing more of the same is going to work?? It won't. Because it isnt an enforcement problem, it is an economic problem. As for socialism, telling business whom they can and cannot hire sounds more like socialism than allowing people to go in search of jobs where they want and allowing employers to hire whomever they want. But you must come from the Brave New World of politics where government control is freedom and choice is socialism. btw, I am now behind enemy lines in Baltimore. With people like this voting it is no wonder the whole country hasnt become a socialist workers paradise already. Everyone feels disenfranchised and alienated from gov't, unable to do anythiing but whine for more gov't benefits of one type or another. Gd bless Tennessee! Run Fred Run.

I transferred one for a customer. It is actually uglier than the stock item. I am told that it improves trigger pull some. Frankly I dont see the point but hey, what do I know?

I didnt realize "the government" had a view of immigration issues. What is that view? How do you know it is the "gov'ts view"? No, my view is the view of freedom: there should be free movement of labor and capital across state lines. Do you have a problem with freedom??

That picture came from the talented studio of Oleg Volk, owner of TheHighRoad.org, A_Human_Right.org, and VolkStudio. He is an exceptional photographer of firearms and does work for catalogues etc. He also lives here in Nashville. I think the gun in question was photoshopped. Even so, it should not be hard to get wood furniture and refinish it to the right hue. I want an underfolder with a pretty wood foregrip. I think Ironwood has them.

I dont know. I've never shot one. My impression is that they are simply Romanian AKs dressed up with a longer barrel, scope, and Dragunov stock. Probably a couple of other mods as well. Thus I'd expect them to shoot about like an AK or better. Ammo is certainly cheap enough for it though. But if I wanted to shoot 7.62Russian long range I'd get a Mosin. There are other guns I'd rather buy for $700-ish dollars, which is why I passed on getting this one.
-
More seriously: She wants something accurate for long range shooting with a shorter buttstock. In a bolt rifle I'd look at the CZ, esp the CZ carbine in 7.62x39. In a semi I'd look at the pseudo-Dragonovs in 7.62x54R. I have one available. An AK is not going to give the kind of accuracy she wants and she doesnt like the AR platform (heresy!).

I always liked Watts. I liked him even more when the holy Congressional Black Caucus refused to give him membership. It was a shame he lost re-election. Perhaps a VP candidate for Fred?
-
Try this: Girls don't need guns anyway.

I have been a Reagan Republican since Reagan. I'd consider myself pretty conservative. And I wouldn't vote for Ron Paul if the other choice was Hillary. Fortunately he doesn't a ghosts chance so its OK.

West Virginia Carry Soon for TN Packers?
The Rabbi replied to Marswolf's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
I'm not holding my breath. But you have to have some kind of goal in mind and that would represent the ultimate triumph in RKBA in this country. -
West Virginia Carry Soon for TN Packers?
The Rabbi replied to Marswolf's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
I think Tennessee's law is that any state that recognizes a TN permit will have its permit recognized in TN. Not a bad law at all I must say. But this whole patchwork approach is absurd. Push for mandatory reciprocity by all states. Can't wait to open carry in mid-town Manhattan. -
Select-fire training. There's something useful. Fun to watch though. Those guys are good.
-
And did you know that a lot of these newfangled guns have this thing in the barrel called "rifling"? They say it makes the gun more accurate. What'll they think of next?
-
Don't sweat it. I'll be right there next to you. Wanna split a Twinky?
-
Since you write "more sense" I am inclined to agree.

Actually the bolt rifle is from the 19th century, the set trigger probably about the same time, and the .308 since about 1945. I am moving rapidly into the last century. And just because you guys think I'm a just a wheelgunner, here is today's carry with the new Nils Grips:
-
Yeah, me. CZ 550 Varmint in .308. Somehow .308 doesnt sound like a great varmint caliber, unless the varmint is along the lines of Osama bin Laden or something. Ultimately it was the single set trigger that did it (thanks Urse). Now I can be one of those fat guys I see at the TWRA range leaning their guts against the bench and marveling at how well they can pull the trigger while their gun is in a vise.

Interpretation of Castle Doctrine Law.....
The Rabbi replied to a topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
Ditto. If you arent on your own property you need a permit to carry a handgun or have it close at hand in a functional state. -
Ditto. I suspect soldiers always did stuff like tht because soldiering is so darn boring most of the time. But with the YouTube generation we get to see it all here at home.
