I dont know what you mean by a plurality. I think the gun ban itself will go down in flames. I think they will find an individual right, per Ashcroft's memorandum. I think there will be lots of disagreement as to what reasonable restrictions on the right could consist of. I think both sides will go away disappointed. Again, I could easily be wrong.

Scenario Question : Standing in line at Kroger...
The Rabbi replied to TGO David's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
I would have shouted "stop thief--OMG HE'S GOT A GUN!!" BANG! BANG! BANG! No seriously. Time to back up, smirking with the knowledge that you could make this guy's day his last. Some people will be asses. Nothing you can do about it except not be one. Interestingly a security guard who works at probably that very Kroger was in yesterday. He had gotten smacked in the eye by a female shoplifter the night before. He told me the place has been robbed numerous times. -
I am worried the court will decide against us gun owners. I sure hope they don't SCOTUS!
-
Seven decisions to go. I would say no. It is the most watched decision probably since Brown. I think they will schedule an additional day just for that. I could be wrong. Also notice the little poll going on at scotusblogspot. Over 90% of the people think DC's ban will be struck down.

what is on your adult beverage menu for the evening?
The Rabbi replied to Mike.357's topic in General Chat
I'm not sure. You could mapquest both I guess. I would certainly welcome your presence, with or without booze. Drank some Ezra Brooks 90 last night. Not bad at all. -

You need to share with your friends.... -
The following is an email I sent to my state rep. This is a particularly irksome thing to me. I would encourage members here to write their reps. Maybe we can get a grass roots campaign going and get rid of at least one piece of useless gun law.

Inside the bra. I actually knew someone who carried like that. A Kel Tec .32. Anyone who can do that with a P228 I want to see pics. Anyway, options for women are poor. Some holster makers make holsters specifically tailored to women's shapes. But these generally require pants. An inside the waistband holster will keep the gun secure and out of sight. But you may need to buy a size larger. Shoulder holster under a blazer is another option. I disagree about purse carry. It isn't a great option. It has lots of drawbacks. But it beats nothing. And if other carry options lead someone to leave the gun at home instead then it's certainly preferable to that.

It isn't incorrect. But it is less likely, which is what the question was.

Fixed for ya. That would be a heck of a weapon actually.

Did I miss it or did you just contradict yourself?

Polls ran closer than I expected. The correct answer is 1). This was the opening to a review of a new book called "Sway" about how people are persuaded. Their point is that people allow non-logical thinking to influence their opinions. To go through it: Choice 1 is the more inclusive choice. Therefore it is more likely to be correct than Choice 2.
-
That wasn't one of the choices. The answers are the only two possible here.

Consider Linda. When Linda was in college she was heavily involved in social causes and active in campaigning. Which is more likely: 1) Linda is a bank teller. 2) Linda is a bank teller and active in feminist causes.

THey don't produce them in Smyrna because they don't see enough demand for a product like that. Recently 9mm sub compacts have taken over the role that used to be filled by .380s. We'll see what happens with Kahr's new .380. If it's a big hit I think you might see American made Glock 25s.

What the heck's the matter with people, again.
The Rabbi replied to The Rabbi's topic in General Chat
That is precisely where he got them. No, I have not yet heard from him. We will see how this week pans out. -
I guess everyone here was right because the symbol was gone in no time. Obama is a poor, unprepared candidate and it shows constantly. This won't be the last such incident, is my prediction.

Thinking of buying a new Mercedes....thoughts?
The Rabbi replied to BimmerFreak's topic in General Chat
Looks like someone's marijuana crop came in..... -
Hey, I bought a semi-auto 1911-inspired design as a carry gun. Anything can happen. You might even pick up a Glock 36. Who knows?

Being a victim never feels good, no matter what it is. But I thought you were going to announce that you were joining the GOP....

Actually the topic of discussion was the original view of the Founders based on a study of the language as it existed in their day. The paranoid registration scheme was your invention.
-
That's actually a bad sign. A 7-2 would mean they had to build consensus by compromising. That would mean an affirmation of an individual right, but not much more than just striking down the outright ban. It would leave virtual bans, like in NYC, intact.

PM sent with instructions. I did it once. It was kind of a pain, honestly.

I Get Called A Racial Epithet (not what you think)
The Rabbi replied to The Rabbi's topic in General Chat
Maybe he has a permit. Maybe he was just checking the ammo to see whether it would chamber. Maybe I did try to sell him one but he blew all his money on the over-priced fare at the gun show. When are you changing your avatar to George Carlin, btw? Whoever it is now gives me the willies.
