  7. Harris Combative Strategies TN / GA / AL Training Group! On Saturday April 24 we will hold a meeting of the TN/GA/AL Training Group in the Oak Ridge area ! Subject: HOW QUALIFIED ARE YOU ? Instructor: Randy Harris Randy's Bio Location: Windrock 720 Windrock Rd, Oliver Springs, TN 37840 Time: 9AM EASTERN time - 3PM EASTERN time Price: $100 - pay at class by cash or check or Electronic payment by paypal or venmo. Paypal - cruelhandluke2000@yahoo.com Venmo - www.venmo.com/Randy-Harris-47 What you need to bring: Pistol, at least 2 pistol magazines and at least 150 rounds of pistol ammo. Revolvers are welcome if you want to party like it is 1899. We will be shooting some challenging warm up drills and then the Air Marshal , FBI qualification courses and many others. I will also keep records of these (if you are happy with your scores) for future reference and use . This will serve to get your shooting prowess on record by a third party in case it is ever needed in the future in some legal matter. This is also something your church might like to have for their records if you are a member of a church security team. As far as the courts are concerned if it isn't documented it didn't happen so this is an opportunity to get some official scores on paper in case you ever need them . Not only that but it will be a good day of shooting some somewhat challenging and well known courses of fire. This is an EXCELLENT chance to bring someone you know who might need a "reality check" on where their skills actually are. We all know people who are gun owners who keep threatening to get some training. The training days (especially the pistol qual day) are a great way to get them into that and show them what is possible with some directed practice and see where they REALLY are at their present skill level. Looking forward to seeing you there! We will also be there Sunday offering our Technical Pistol Skills one day pistol class...... Technical Pistol Skills
  8. I haven't seen it either but I heard that on the radio and was curious as to whether anyone else knew anything about that.
  9. So is there truth to the rumor that it will eliminate "gun free zones" ?
  10. REMINDER !!!!!!! THIS ONE IS COMING UP THIS WEEKEND !
  11. This one is just a little over a week to go . We still have a few spots available for both days. Hope to see you there!
  12. In reference to catalogs.... Most people don't realize that companies like Natchez use printing companies to print their fliers- they are not printed in house. Those fliers have to be submitted to the printer 3 MONTHS in advance of when they are to be printed. The products in the catalogs are not IN STOCK when the info is sent. It is all based on PROJECTED DELIVERY TIMES from the manufacturers. That is why the catalogs run for a 2-3 month time frame because they expect the manufacturers to send that ammo to them some time within the time period that the catalog is good for. The problem in the last 6 months is that by the time the catalog gets printed and mailed it is already obsolete because market forces have driven the prices up and nothing is in stock because inventory is hard to get due to historically high demand. So when you get the catalog in your mailbox it is essentially 4 months old. Back in the 1990s savvy buyers used to get a subscription to Shotgun News and that was how we found deals on machine guns and ammo to buy. But the internet largely killed Shotgun News because now by the time you got Shotgun News in your mailbox it was essentially a month old and all the good deals were already gone because someone already saw them advertised on a bulletin board like Sturmgewehr or Subguns.com. Back before the internet and instant advertising it didn't matter that it was a month old because it was a month old for EVERYONE and NO ONE knew about the ads until they opened their mailbox. But once the internet came along now folks with internet access could see what folks had in inventory before the paper copy ever arrived in the mailbox. Same as with the catalogs from the companies like Natchez now. Right now because of the off the scale demand and historic buying that is going on all over the industry the catalogs are obsolete before you get them because when these companies get shipments that this time a year ago would have lasted 60-90 days they are gone in 4 to 5 hours. And you can thank internet bulletin boards for that when people post it on Reddit that someone has ammo and buyers descend like locusts and buy 2700 cases of 9mm in 4 hours. AND finally the distributors like Natchez use "Coop Advertising" which is essentially the manufacturers buying ad space in the catalogs. So if Winchester pays Natchez to advertise 3040 Krag then Natchez is going to advertise that. If Winchester never sends any 3040 Krag then Natchez has no control over that. If Simmons pays them to advertise a new scope that has not made it into the country yet then they are going to advertise that scope even if they do not have it in stock.
  13. This one will be a combo pistol and shotgun day culminating in a two gun man vs man (or woman) battle for intergalactic domination ! After a quick "pulse check" shooting drill to see where your cold skills are we will work on shooting on the move with pistols and work on shotgun skills and then finally test your skills in a 2 gun intergalactic death match shoot off. Also I will do my best to bring some ammo for you to be able to replenish what you shoot. Hope to see you there!
  14. REMINDER ! This is coming up tomorrow !!!!
  15. The target is a B-27 and there is no time limit. I use a B27 center with the red x ring . It is a purely accuracy intensive test that is supposed to be shot cold (no warmup).
  16. Did a private class for a student this past Sunday and one of the diagnostic drills I use is Rastoff's Challenge. We have discussed it here before but the course of fire is 4 rounds at 3 yards 6 rounds at 5 yards 6 rounds at 7 yards 4 rounds at 10 yards All rounds must be in the X ring for a perfect score. I put up an extra target for me and shot it cold.......
  17. And that is why we don't act like jackasses to other people in public because #1 it is not cool, #2 it does nothing constructive and #3 you never know exactly where someone is mentally and you could end up being the straw that breaks the camel's back and #4 you never know who is primed and capable of delivering a biblical level of retribution. What is it Spaide said as he shot Mrs Goy in the head? "You should've kept your f&^%ing mouth shut!" Seems pretty clear what the motivation was.....
  18. Their brains were in "DVR mode" not in "self preservation mode". That is what happens when you experience something you never thought you'd see or never thought was even possible. You stand there taking in the scenery recording info instead of doing something. As I say in class all the time...the FIRST time you see it should not be when it is for real. You need a page in your mental rolodex for that so if it happens you will have at least considered it in advance and have at least a vague plan to deal with it. Novelty will cause hesitation or even disbelief. But if you have seen someone pull a gun and use it (even if it is an airsoft or sims gun in training) you will be more likely to do something than if the real thing is your first time seeing it in real time. Your brain cannot distinguish between training and reality. It just records info. But if you have already seen this before you are able to recognize this show and do something other than stand there gawking.
  19. That's why you give a "limited statement". There's a big difference between saying just enough to guide the investigation vs going into so much detail that you say conflicting things that get used against you vs saying nothing at all and letting them put you in jail while they try to figure out what really happened. The limited statement is the happy medium where you say just enough to assert you are the victim and point out pertinent evidence before it gets missed or disappears. Larry Hickey spent the better part of 3 months in jail and 2 years of his life with his case hanging over his head before his 2nd trial ended in another hung jury largely because he initially didn't say anything and evidence that would've easily proven he was telling the truth about the encounter and his assailants were lying about where the confrontation took place was missed and lost.
  20. One of my students was involved in a shooting in his home. It was a 3 person home invasion in the middle of the day. Three guys armed with pistols force his kitchen door open and start into the house. My guy is coming up the hallway with gun in hand to investigate the noise when the door comes off its hinges and the three barge into the kitchen. He ends up killing the first guy and the other two bolt for the exit. They left the getaway car running on the street and threw the guns into the car and ran away. The police show up and take his statement, look at the evidence and hang around until around midnight when they all packed up and left. He did not spend one second in jail nor ever see the inside of a courtroom. When told about her son's demise the mother of the dead robber asked if he was robbing a business or a residence. They told her it was a residence to which she replied "I told that fool never to rob houses that it was safer to rob businesses because nobody is going to fight back"...... A big part of the reason my guy slept in his own bed that night was that he did not clam up and act like a film noir gangster saying "I ain't sayin' Nothin' till my mouthpiece gets here". That is what guilty people are counselled to do by attorneys who have experience defending guilty people. That is also how YOU initially get listed as the offender instead of the victim. It is best to give a limited statement - something like "That guy right there tried to kill me with that gun right there and then say you will be willing to cooperate and answer further questions but would like to have an attorney present ". You need to make sure it is on record that YOU are the victim...not the other way around which is what often happens when YOU refuse to say anything at all.
  21. TN / GA / AL Training Group On Saturday February 27 we will hold our 1st meeting for the TN/GA/AL Training Group for 2021 ! Instructor: Randy Harris (http://harriscombative.com/about/) Location: The usual place- Phillips/Edwards Farm 763 County Rd 332 Pisgah AL 35765 Time: 9AM CENTRAL time - 3PM CENTRAL time Price: $80 - pay at class cash or check. What you need to bring: Pistol, pistol magazines and 150 rounds of ammo. Revolvers are welcome if you want to party like it is 1899. We will work on smoothing out our pistol skills and will shoot several new and challenging drills that we have not done before and work to be more competent and confident with the weapon we carry most...our pistol. The pistol is far more likely to be the weapon you will have at hand when trouble starts be it robbery, terrorism or whatever. This will give participants a chance to shoot some timed and scored drills and get a feel for where their skill level is and see where they can improve . Also I will be making some 9mm ammo available so you can replenish some of what you shoot. So bring some extra cash (or check or paypal or whatever) if you want some ammo. Looking forward to seeing you there! For those wondering what the TN/GA/AL Training Group is all about....., the TN/GA/AL training group was first started as a regular opportunity for alumni of both Suarez International classes and any other classes taught by Randy Harris to gather and practice the various skills they had learned in class . As time has gone on it is open to all interested even if you have never trained with Randy before. It is not as much a structured class as it is a casual, low stress, "semi private coaching session" where Randy devises drills to work the specific skills that are the subject of the day. It is a "One room schoolhouse" where all levels of skill are invited and welcome. Randy has the ability to challenge the more advanced student while not making the less experienced students feel overwhelmed and to help the less experienced students along without making things boring for the more advanced students. And it is also a chance to meet some really good people who share the same interests. It is open to all, so come on out and see what we are about !
  22. ????? Not sure what you are saying here. If you are looking to get rid of them I'd be interested.
  23. This is what we refer to as a "Negative Outcome". All kinds of bad decision making here and poor marksmanship to top it off. THIS is why people need training...... https://www.foxnews.com/us/ace-hardw...stander-report Ace Hardware employee accidentally shot by bystander: report The shooting occurred at about 9 a.m. An employee at an Ace Hardware store in Phoenix was shot Saturday by a bystander after giving chase to a shoplifting suspect, reports said. Fox 10 Phoenix reported that the employee chased the suspect outside of the store and a bystander fired at the suspected thief. She missed the suspect and instead hit the employee, the report said. He sustained serious injuries but is expected to survive. Nya Reyes, 45, was arrested and reportedly faces charges of aggravated assault and discharging a firearm within city limits. She remained at the scene, the report said. The shooting occurred at about 9 a.m. Police said that a person who was outside the store witnessed the incident and opened fire, ABC 15 reported. The suspected shoplifter has not been caught.
  24. If you are giving them away I’d certainly be interested.
