i forgot to tell this, but James reminded me about it. and watched this also. after i was done shooting the 1k i got up thank my spotter because was very happy to hit at 1K again after so very many years. but i do not know why, for fun or his shooters were having trouble but, he picked up the 308 AR with a bipod standing unsupported took a shot or 2 hitting the 1K target and simply said yep it is on. i do not think shooting 1K is as hard as most poeple think, prone supposed with a bipod or sand bag. but standing unsupported holy S--T, now that is some thing!

this is copied and paste from another forum, but it is just WOW! he did not spot for me but i do remember seeing him spot for the guy next to me. i just wish i knew his story then. Yes, Dakota was helping out down on the LaRue demo range, it is amazing in the shooting sports how many decorated and undecorated heros we have a chance to walk among every match, and most are the true salt of the earth and the best people you could ever want to know. I am honored and blessed to have known so many of you, some dating back to vietnam, others more recent. Ours is truly a unique sport that offers opportunities to test ourselves against the worlds best and socialize with them as well, I can think of no other sport that has so many of our nations patriots, military, LE, Firefighters, etc all collected in one friendly playing field as ours. so if it is a slick side, a brass defecter as mike said or replace the recieve that has one. and as strange as it may sound, try a different brand of ammo, for me i have notice that different brands for what ever reason eject at different points. some fly more forward than others. like if your shooting 223 try some 5.56 etc.

make sure there is no trash, or debrie in the lugs area of the barrel extention. or between the carrier and reciever to slow it down. because if i understand it right it fires, ejects picks up the new round but does not fully lock up. i really do not think this would be it, but remove the buffer and spring, make sure there is nothing there and it is clean. if you still have problems borrow a BCM and see if it will run. i have had a new bolt before that was worthless.

Robar NP3, used it for years on BCG, very slippery, easy to clean, the teflon is part of the finish, not just coated. so as it wears new teflon is exposed. life time warrenty. wilson combat also uses it on all there bolts, and they have own finishes.

Surefire 60rd Mag ... Are they out of their minds?!
RWF replied to TGO David's topic in Firearms Gear and Accessories
i would expect the price to ever down. all surefire items are high dollar. at some point i do believe all the top 3 gun gunners will have them. it is about time management and not making mistakes, not having to make a reload saves time and the chance to screw up a reload. it is also a much smaller package than say a Pmag with a extention. beta mags have issues in houses and close tight areas. -
i liked the them, but the guy who had them on his AR did not. but what they are GREAT for is when you break the tab on the lower for the trigger guard, so the lower is still useable, an not aheaded for the scrap pile.

Mammoth Sniper Challenge - January 6-8, 2012
RWF replied to dcloudy777's topic in Competitive Shooting Sports
most everything I saw talked about a team, but you list individual on the app, but only a match fee for a team. so can you shoot as a 600 yard individual only? the reply The individual would be shooting the primary targets only no t the secondary unless that person chooses to do the tough man division. Shots for individuals will stretch out from 350 to between 900 and 950 yards. -

oh and for what it was worth i know did not get a chance to do the side match. all the shooters had was the scoped AR in 308, with a swivel bi pod and a shooting matt. -

cloudy, all that heavy metal you have i am sure you come up with something. i have a solid 600 yard gun. and have shot it out to 800. i also would love to give it a try. i maybe wrong but i do believe someone that you have worked with by that i mean a good spotter that the 2 of you speak the same language about the needed corrections etc, and good rangeing skills, would the most important things. like at the Pro/Am laRue side match. using there equipment and there spotters, i had never used Mills or a Horus recitile. they gave a quick 30 second or so instruction then told me try the 400 before going to 1K. being old school (M21 with a ART 1) between the recitile and the spotters commands, i missed every shot at 400. after my 5 rounds i got up told the spotter to school me again do not be afraid to talk to me like i am a 1st grader. so another after about another minute of training and being sure i understood his commands. i got a 1st round hit at 1000, i had 2 out of 5 hits. the horus still gave me hell. but i was very happy camper. -

thanks allycat, the top one is Wanda shooting the CMMG 7" full auto with flame enhancer the 2nd is a youth in the squad who was not quite tall enough to get the low targets on the other side of the car. the bullet hit the far side and the shockwave traveled across the rear window blew out another hole that you see. -

they were saying that they plan on doing this again next year. it is only about a hour away from Nashville. even if you do not shoot the match, it would be well worth the drive to check it out. most big matches do not have side matches for the shooters much less open to the pulbic. there was JP (they were using hornady steel case), NRA 22lr 3 gun, crimson trace deep inside the cave. Larue with about 10 rifles shooting 50 to 1000 yds., also did know you that Bushell also uses the horus reticile, CMMG full auto guns, FN full auto and 2 people won new FN PS 90 the AM winner was 71 with the fastest time cutting the stick in 2 peices. also Spikes tactical had their guns out for you to shoot. i tried to tell everyone i know to come up and have some fun. one did come up with his wife and son. and they gave me a big thank you and they had a ball, his boy got multi hits on each target from 50 to 800 he just could not get the 1K. and got a ear full about the cave about how cool that was. 1 MCTS and 1 NTPS that i know of made the trip up also. also Ryan claims he beat Jerry M. on one shotgun stage, was super happy about that, congrads! does using a sagia count? NB Forrest beat Rob R. on a stage, plus came 12 overall as of saturday night on a stage out of well over 200 pro shooters congrads to you also! the sponsors were great!!!! 3 gun nation, shooting usa and shooting gallery, plus i am sure NRA TV was there. i am hoping that someone will post a couple pictures for me also. -

it is great to be home! 1st, i do have to make a correction, i did not make all my distance rifle shots with just one shot each. but it is shotgun that gets the best of me. also i need to add, before someone throws the B.S. flag. remember that there are many types of scoring. this was IMG i do believe. and did have 0 points down, no penilties etc. i had a great time lots fun, was happy about my shooting, not including shotgun. i really was looking for a top 50 finish. but no i am a lot slower than i thought. 95 out of 145. but stage 5 the AM long stage i did finish at #50. the sponsors were great, they provide all the meals, but breakfast. there were about 20 guns on the table, 1ea custom 2011, 2ea Colt AR's called Colt CR, wow they were awesome looking guns. i can say that i got all money spent on match fee and hotel etc back. i got a Vortex Viper HS 2.5 x 10, black hawk knife, holster AR mags 10 total i think and a hat. as i said before the shooters bags, are real range bags like you buy from C.E.D. just a little smaller. they had tac-lights, 2 different multi-tools pmags and brownell mags, Larue tactical beverage opner and a hat. i got 1 and the NRA rep gave 3 to Wanda. and before we left Mr. Alexender (the .50 buewolf guy) grabed Wanda and told her to go to his box of shirts and grab a couple. i got to meet the Hornady's Steve and his son, they where the squad right behind us. the brownells sat at the table with us, father and son and there team. -

one stage left still shooting clean, i looked at some of the scores last night. i am hoping to finish overall in the 40's i think there were 115 AM shooters. my best stage so far was 5 the long range stage. note to all match director's compact cars with no tires or rims just sitting on the ground are very hard for old fat guys to get out of on the clock with rifle. -

the FN machince gun is a very small PS 90 full auto. CMMG also had several guns to try for $10 a mag. from 7" piston full auto 5.56 with a flame enhancer, to 22lr AR full size full auto to 300 blackout. we went the 7" and WOW with flame enhancer standing in the sun, no clouds, you can not see anything but front sight and a fire ball! it was GREAT! there was a Music City shooter who stopped me on the long range stage and talked him into shooting, i do not how he did but did get a picture of him. -

a small funny when we were signing up for the match Jerry & Kay M. were about 1 or 2 poeple back. and at the table where you sign up for the free classes Jerry asked what was that on the table, we said it is sign up for the class you are giving. he started reading the listed info, What! where did they these numbers from (my exsample) only 5 world titles it is 8 and went down the list making corrections to all title numbers, we all got a kick out of it.
