  1. the ambush was just for time frame reference, and that is all. i know it is old news, we even where sent e-mail copies of the after action report, as part of a fun raiser. i have no doubt he is very good at what he does. i guess the point was trying to make as person we do not care for him, very, very, foul mouth etc. sorry on my last post i left out the word " NOT " i did correct it.
  2. i know this was NOT address to me, but yes the first time was just before his last time (that i know of) he took a trip with some young men on his trip as a some kind security force, that went deadly wrong. this is from a match he took his crew to, to quote my wife "if this is how we act in Iraq no wonder they hate us"
  3. all of mine are slick sides, only the wife has a FA because you have to use the TAC 2 upper in the briefcase (lap top case) model. also I DO NOT WANT mine to be something tact cool. i use one for 3 gun and rifle matches. i have to disagree that it hurts resale. it like anything it is what the buyer is looking for. my long range AR does not even have a charging handle.
  4. it was a fun match! if you can believe it i shot worst than normal, Wanda had a great day! but at least i can say, i stayed and played in rain.
  5. not a yeager fan, but he is good with a handgun, that i know first hand.

    I just got a 1911!

EGW did carry any thing need for a Para to make it a lean mean shooting machine, i would think they would.
  7. the 45 cal. is the only pistol you can use in heavy metal. BUT, with that said if shoot it well and good on reloads you CAN use it in the other divisions. we shot with a someone who used his SS 1911 45 in Benning 2 years ago because he said he shot better than his hi cap. as i remember he did well with it and you could not tell at all that it slowed him down any.
  8. +1, any 1911 no matter the caliber is a single stack gun or a limited gun, single stack has it own gun rules. like no full length dust covers, i do believe.
  9. here is the web site for the ammo i was using, tacticalammunition.com the 9mm 147 competition load is not yet on there web site. Mr. Heller made these per my request. they make 128 pf in all my M & P's. they are much softer than the Atanta Arms. they run $220 per K.
  10. i will be trying to get the day off i have missed the match now for about 2 years now, so i hope to see you that sunday.

    Left Handed 1911

S & A makes a ambi 1911 mag release that works great on the single stack.
  12. block "h" is blank because there is no other data on the firearm.

    16" vs 18" vs 20"

sorry about the hrad ache, as i said i just ain't that smart. and confused easy. i am just glad some one could kinda understand it. i also agree the 223 is not a great big game (deer size) round. a good shot on the deer a must. no hate at all! like i said i had 15 years with it, started with A1. in basic mine was in semi retirement from the undeclared war in the 65-73. rattled wobbled hated it. and never found true love with it or for it. now the M21 now that's a whole different thing....
  14. sorry, but i know nothing about idpa 3 gun, i sure that Gary will only allow 20 rounds in the rifle, so is it 10 in pistol and not a clue about shotgun, so what Gary's idea's on rounds for shotgun?

    16" vs 18" vs 20"

sorry, but i just ain't to smart i guess. i am a little confused about your last post. yes in the begining the 5.56 was made to be unstable so bullet would not just drill thru but start tumble and break apart. now they are wanting a round more stable and that will go through body armor etc. i do believe a super fast weight round even with a penetrater would still break apart and with this it let the penetrater part be knock off course per say. i do know that the 193 5.56 hit at very close range just blows apart. i guess i have never it much thought but i never thought of the 5.56 as a short range round only. and i know the 223 first came to life as a little critter getter. not to worry even after 15 years i can say i did not ever have big love for the round or weapon system.
  16. not far from clarksville, what would be the far side of Dickson for you. the directions are on the Music city web site. and there are matches there on the same property at least 3 weekends a month.

    16" vs 18" vs 20"

first let me say i love my 16" AR's and do care for anything over a 20" barrel on a bolt gun. my 16" has always done what i have asked of it. and i guess for the most part and most shooters ( who really do not shoot distance) all that has been said is true. but velocity does equal accuracy if you shooting something like a hi power match. the longer the bullet stays supersonic the less it is effected by the elements. yes a shooter using a 16" gun can shoot at 600 but it harder to do than the guy using the 20 or 24 gun. i promise i will never have a 24" AR. just my 2 cents thanks.

wow had not looked at the thread, i was sure it would be all blood and guts, with a question like that. good job guys. for hunting and some target shooting. i would go with a 1 x 7 or 8. so you can shoot the heavier bullets better. 69, 75, and 77. i have not had a problem taking deer with the black hills 60 grain nolser. but when those are gone i plan to change to the 70 all copper barnes loaded by SSA and others. this should be a long bullet, with better stopping power. the nolsers does a good job killing but they usely go 20-30 yards. and with a scope and 75 grain PPU from the bench i have broke clays at 400yards. i am a big fan of the 16" mid lengh. stay away from tact latches i you plan on hunting with it they catch on anything. and a smooth tube is lighter and you can still mount a rail if wanted or needed. good luck.
  19. i know henry county gun club did have some kind match along the lines i think you looking for. brocks gap in bama has them for sure.
  20. nope just sold them for spite before i had a place to keep them. that is a honest warning to all of you be sure to get guns out first to easy for a pissed woman sale cheap for cash.
  21. wow where is the love!? i can not recall ever owning a bolt gun that did not have the caliber on the barrel. and a ruger mk II in 270 was my baby untill it was lost in a divorce.
  22. arrogance was/is a understatement.
  23. hmmm it is been a long since i had one but there should be a marking somewhere stateing the caliber, so how do you know if this 223, 6.8 or 7.62 x 39 yes i know the 7.62 x 39 is a mini 30, but seems like what caliber it is should be there somewhere
  24. if does not say 5.56 or 223 wydle on the barrel i myself would not do it, and just stick something like pmc 223 for 290 per 1k. but thats me.
  25. i sure i have told this story before, but a last years IDPA nationals the glock rep there "glocks do not malfunction, if there is a issue it is the ammo or the user" and on top of that he also said there was nothing wrong with the gen 4 it was all the ammo from the factories here in the states was/is out of spec. true story!
