  1. I'm a HUGE fan of .45 acp for personal protection from two legged predators. For backwoods hiking where large fou legged predators roam, I would carry the .357. of course I have an 8 round .357 but even with six gun I'd take the .357 with 158 grain full power loads.
  2. add in I have seen people asking $1 each and more for LRP and LPP. it will get better but we will never get back to pre 2019 prices.
  3. I have no SPP. would you have a cash price?
  4. Of the molders I used to work for over 3/4 of them are closed permanently. otherwise I would hook you up!
  5. I've been there. distance is not the issue. I've spent my limit for the year and don't want to trade my only wheelgun.

    New Gun!

Procter & Gamble would be one. I don't care for most actor's personal political views but I still watch TV and movies. NFL and NBA are out of the question though. Bet most watch SEC sports that support the liberal teaching Colleges. Ford and Chevy are built outside the US gor the most part. Harley Davidson uses more foreign parts than Honda's Goldwing. It's all a crapshoot and as one member put ot on another post if we boycott everyone who doesn't follow our political/religious beliefs we will end up naked living in a cave. that being said, still pissed at Hornady, will NOT watch Ellen and think Rosie O'Donnell should be publicly flogged. NIKE is banned for life for supporting Kopernick. we all draw the line somewhere. so what does that have to do with bobsguns new Henry? Congrats bobs, I'm bummed with no pics too.
  8. I had just started shortly before all this mess hit so I don't have a stock if powder or primers so I am stuck. I have powder and bullets but primers as we know are scarce and very expensive. Since primers are the most time consuming component to make, the ammo manufacturers are going to get the bulk of what are produced. I only have dies for .45 acp and 30-30 so I haven't been loading. I have enough to load up about 1000 rounds of 45 but I only have a few LRP. 30-30 loaded ammo is near $2 per round so my Marlin has not been fired in two years. Very sad but I will sit on the 80 rounds I have and shoot my .300 BO for now. my recently purchased .357 mag is in the same boat but .38/.357 is starting to become available again!
  9. that's the ticket. Gold Star for Garufa
  10. Easy to see why most single shots sit in the cabinet with so many better options available. I would never have bought one had it not been for my grandfather giving me his. not practical for the hunting I used to do. I had a store branded bolt action built identical to my hunting partner's Mossberg goose gun save for the 4 inch shorter barrel and adjustable choke. Used to hunt Canada Geese when I lived up north so that was what was useful. The fit and finish on my gun was well below what my friend's Mossberg displayed but it was a field gun, used for hunting, and all I could afford at the time. It would be pretty useless to me now. On the 410, I wanted one to build a custom snake charmer/tactical style just because. I ran across and old Iver Johnson 410 that resembled my 12ga, I can't cut it up but I had to buy it for it's simple elegance. I don't need it, it serves no purpose, so is it useless? Not ot me, it is just a working piece of mechanical art. It is useful in my eyes if I never pull the trigger. some of us are collectors, some shooters, some see firearms as merely tools. so many sub sets in just those categories. BUT in my eyes there isn't a useless firearm, only some less useful to me. yep, I talk too much
  11. no. see above answers If you want a custom 44 mag contact Hamilton Bowen. If it can be done, he will know. Just be aware that it would cost more to modify the 44 special than to buy a comparable 44 mag.
  12. I shoot less often than I would like due to ammo cost. and I prefer steel and wood myself. I was looking for a wood and stainless mini 30 when I bought my AR. Black powder has never interested me until lately, I'd love to get one of the Uberti revolvers to play with. I don't have a large collection and only three plastic pistols. two are specifically for carry when I need something light. Since we are discussing our most useless firearm I can't include AR in the mix. It's quite versatile and tons of fun to shoot, I don't really have useless since the one I never shoot is a keepsake and I bought a box of shorty shells to knock the dust off of her. Even the ones I've sold because they were of little use I'd like to have back. Oh well, enough rambling about everything for now.
  13. Thanks David. I'm glad I joined.
  14. I was picturing a broomhandle. Very nice looking rifle even if it is temperamental
  15. I had surgery yesterday to repair my ring finger on my left hand. Doctors call it trigger finger, a knot on the leader where it goes through the guide. A simple procedure, no big deal. I was afraid I would have to put it off after coming down with covid but I recovered in time. The stress of worry has been very trying. My step son lost his father last week from complications of the same lung ailments I have. He didn't have covid but I have no doubt that it will be recorded that he did. I don't doubt many have died from this virus but it has been blown way out of proportion. Add in the anger and tears from the abandoning of Afghanistan, worry that I will lose my job for not getting the jab. How am I not crazy you ask? I have a good wife and an all powerful God that love me through thick and thin. And a bunch of friends most of whom I've never met in person here that make me laugh and yell daily. Thank you God and thank you friends.
  16. I am sure we could find new homes for the stock of parts. I have an AR pistol in .300BO but I'd like to build another just to do it. they are a good arm to have around even if they do eat a lot.
  17. Same story with my Iver Johnson except mine has a crack in the comb. I haven't ever fired it but I don't consider it useless at all. Since I don't hunt now I guess they are all useless to some but I love them all. At the risk of offending some, I agree with the OP, I see no use for the .410 wheelguns, but I still want one LMAO.
  18. I worked in plastics for too many years, Several different factory positions until China became the manufacturing place to be. Mechanic at several places then Management at Travel Centers. Worked for a company that builds dump bodies and snow plows as office manager/admin. Now work for a large autoparts distributer as product support specialist. In other words, I've not stayed with anything long enough to get to the top or retire.
  19. I watched some of the NYC anti vax march, lots of firefighters and cops. y'all know what happens when the NYC trash collectors stop working.
  20. UPDATE; Hornady has walked back the mandatory vax saying they only meant to announce that they are making it available on site. from report by "GUNS AND GADGETS" on utoob.
  21. Fact Check: Wife got vax. Wife got Covid. Wife was very sick. I didn't get vax. I got covid. I didn't get very sick, Vax does not prevent infection. Vax does not guarantee survival, Vax needs "booster". Mrs is back to work finally. I work from home and never missed a day, Yes, mandates infringe on your right of free choice by definition. I am smart enough to ask my doctor about what I do or do not need, Thanks for calling me stupid for being able to think. I am not disappointed either.
  22. Several outlets are reporting that Hornady manufacturing has issued a letter requiring employees to be vaccinated. A copy of a letter from Steve Hornady states they will have to be fully vaxed by November 10 to keep their jobs. Sad that gun manufacturers are bowing to these over-reaching mandates. the truth is government contracts are worded exactly and any changes supposedly would call for a re-bid process. By adding requirements, the government would be in breach of contract. If companies stand their ground they would not lose the business or could sue for losses. The tyranny is real. When you threaten people's livelihood what else can we call it? Claim: Ammo Maker Hornady to Enforce Worker Vaccine Mandate - En Bloc Press
