I agree with this, but I can also add a little to it, my buddies and I bought 6 Norincos that had never been fired, they were parade and drill rifles for the Chinese Military, paid 600 a piece for the wood furniture, 525 for polymer furniture and synthetic stock. The only increases in value I have seen for these is: 1) if you convert the magwell to accept magazines instead of the standard loading by hand from the top or stripper clips. 2) if you have synthetic furniture, reverting it all to wood. 3) Upgrading to the wooden pistol like grip stock. 4) There's a company that makes furniture to essentially turn your SKS into an AR/K platform, the price of this is around 2.5K and resale value is a 1/3 of that price, so you're relatively wasting your money if you're looking to get a return out of it.

It has been my experience that this is a matter of preference. It's the famouse battle of .20 cal variant vs .30 cal variant, lighter rounds have been found to have flatter trajectories.

Military style combat pants, some of which I have turned into shorts, Dickies Cargo Khakis. Swiss Gear apparel. I have a couple of sets of clothes that are specifically created and designed for conceal carry for situations that require more "class" as opposed to casual. What I really need to buy is another Alien Gear Shoulder Holster, I bought one last year for my Shield when the company was still relatively new to the market and they were a little cheaper, only because at the DeSantis NYC Undercover Holster was on backorder until January of this year, turned out to be a 100x better of a buy. Most comfortable, secure, and accessible holster I've owned, and it holds 2 backup mags, but I'm waiting until I finally settle on my setup again. I've been doing a lot of changing around of what I have in the house, and until I reach some steady ground with what I have, I'm not trying to make that investment.

This whole bill is the start of them taking everything. It isn't about protecting our children, it's about control. Look into all the fine print. This is the outline and foot in the door for them to disarm the civilian population. This bill will have an impact on LAW ABBIDING CITIZENS. Like the OP said on point #1, you decide to make that call on your neighbor, or your ex decides to stir some stuff up and call them on you, they/you don't even get due process to defend themselves, their house will be raided, and items confiscated. How does this not bother people?

Alright, I've used quite a few different types of boresight over the past few years, and I want to know if anyone has any recommendations or thoughts? I for one used to love in chamber sights, where the boresight is mock cartridge you just throw in the chamber, vs a universal that goes into the barrel, but I've grown to hate them because after about 200 sightings and depending on what you're sighting, say an AR, the boresight essentially is no longer "true" because the force of the bolt, or if using a pistol, the slide, causes it to knock itself out of level, and you can't fix it, $30 isnt much at the time, but when you've gone through 3 or 4 bore sights, it gets kinda frustrating. Universal sights are great, but depending on how they "adjust" to fit the bore, I've had issues with them being level.

I realized why there was some confusion, I too was a little confused, because I thought this round had been around longer, but when I read that link, for whatever reason, probably the bourbon, noticed the Carcano, which I've shot plenty of times, and thought it was the same round.

Ya know, you're right, I probably should've mentioned something geared towards them as well, I didn't even think about it because my Pro Carry was what I used for competition as well.

I know a lot of us have used different calibers over the years, I've used everything from .25 to .44 cal., my personal preference being 25-06 and 30-06 for those long shots depending on wind.

I know there is a few of us who use different calibers on the range vs what we prefer to carry, my question to the group is, what's your preference in caliber for either one? I'm also aware of the fact that there's also those who practice with what we carry either by just running 50 or so rds through our carry on a range day, or using a similar firearm to what we carry, so to those people I ask, what is what is your "practice carry?" I.e. I used to carry a Kimber Ultra Carry II in .45 ACP with a 3" barrel and 7rd magwell, my practice was a Kimber Pro Carry with a 4" barrel and full size 8rd magwell.

Trybe has a flat faced trigger available for the gen 5s, they're pretty decent, its not an Agency or an Apex, but they're still good triggers IMO.

Oh boy, you don't know what you've started, haha, personally, I'm using an RCBS single stage that's been passed down through to three generations, myself being the third. I've also got a Hornady that has rotating die slots, today's market, it's hard to find a "bad" loader, everyone has their favorite, and dies are debatably personal preference as well, each brand has their ups and downs, take for instance Lee 9mm dies over Hornady 9mm dies, Lee's expander die has a powder through funnel where you can prime, expand, charge, and then set that charged case in your tray. Hornady's expander doesn't have that option, but their seater die has a piece that sits on the projectile which helps keep it straight and level as you're going up the press. IMHO, you should read a guide to reloading, I've got a Lee Precision's Guide To Reloading you can have, after doing so, it will help you decide what best suits your needs.

I'm 50/50 here, I honestly believe it depends on model and generation. Some models fit the shape of my hand better and give the perfect angle, whereas others just felt awkward.

Alright, my family has passed a few of these around the generations and recently my dad got curious as to what exactly he had in his safe and took them to a specialist/appraiser, to his dismay he learned that what he had was meant for black powder, but also found that he was sitting on some nice pieces of history worth quite a bit to collectors. Even more recently I came upon one which lead me to do some research on my own, and realized, our community could use this information! I'm going to try and compress this as much as possible, but there's a lot of information to digest around these. A few very KEY names or inscriptions to look out for: Francotte, Frall, Jennsenn. These have been noted as usually higher end quality and there's some going on auction anywhere from 1k to 10k depending on the grade. As we all know Winchester changed ownership a lot of times over the years, what some might not know is there was a short period when they were owned by Western Cartidge Co. (The inventor of the Super X shotshell) and said parent company would send their designs to and buy arms from FN Herstal in Belgium and export them to the US market in the early 30's. Now, if you're wondering to yourself, it's been proofed for smokeless powder, I can use modern ammo, right? STOP. DON'T. Most firearms from this era and region were made with Damascus and can't handle the pressure of modern ammunition. Take it to a qualified gunsmith, preferably one with knowledge of vintage arms/Damascus barrels. They can tell you if you're firearm is safe to use, and can probably recommend a safe ammunition. IF YOU DON'T TAKE IT TO A GUNSMITH FOR INSPECTION PRIOR TO USE, YOU RUN THE RISK OF SERIOUSLY HARMING YOURSELF. No, I'm not speaking from personal experience, but I've seen what happens when a catastrophic failure of a firearm occurs.
