  1. I've got 2 AR setups, one for distance, one for closer targets. My distance one has a variable scope, with a cowitness sight mount, so if something breaks I've still got irons. My closer has had 5 different optics over the years but I've finally settled on the Vortex Sparc, imo it has the cleanest dot, I have an astigmatism in my right eye, and of all the sights I've used, even with my eye, Vortex has the second most crisp dots I've seen, the only better optics I've used have been Trijicon.
  2. So, I've recently been seeing a lot of reports of accidental discharges involving the P320, two of these incidents have resulted in serious injury, and one incident made a whole department decide to switch to Glocks. Has anyone else been seeing these reports? What are your thoughts? And do you think the m17/m18 variants being based on the 320 frame, are going to exhibit the same issue? Theres been zero reports of this happening with Military models, because there's stricter requirements and regulations, but as I stated above theres been one major incident surrounding a "law enforcement department." I say that in quotes because I believe it was a transit department not an actual police or sheriff's department, but still a badge with a firearm.
  3. Thank you linking that! I couldnt find the article I had viewed.
  4. I'm on the fence with waiting for prices to go down on 5.56 because recent leaks have given information that the Biden administration is trying to get Winchester to stop selling their surplus to civilians.
  5. Hey, I'm interested, could you hold until Saturday?
  6. I'm right there with you, I load for myself and about 15 other people regularly. my press is almost 3x my age already, and it'll probably last another 100 years, it was my grandfather's passed down to my old man and then to me. I just thought I'd give a little insight on some issues I've had in the past with my set up, you know little things that sometimes get overlooked with time.
  7. I've had 0 issues with Norma cases, are the cases you're using clean? Is your decapping pin? Do you have your pin seated too far down? I've had one issue with my Hornady decapper getting stuck in .45, my pin was set too deep, raised it up a hair, never happened again, with either small or large primer pockets.
  8. Where did you immigrate from, if you don't mind me asking?
  9. It means generating a brand new topic. Take for example my posts in the Ammunition and Reloading, Handguns, or Long Guns forums. Comments, or replies, do not go towards you posting count.

    Sks value

I agree with this, but I can also add a little to it, my buddies and I bought 6 Norincos that had never been fired, they were parade and drill rifles for the Chinese Military, paid 600 a piece for the wood furniture, 525 for polymer furniture and synthetic stock. The only increases in value I have seen for these is: 1) if you convert the magwell to accept magazines instead of the standard loading by hand from the top or stripper clips. 2) if you have synthetic furniture, reverting it all to wood. 3) Upgrading to the wooden pistol like grip stock. 4) There's a company that makes furniture to essentially turn your SKS into an AR/K platform, the price of this is around 2.5K and resale value is a 1/3 of that price, so you're relatively wasting your money if you're looking to get a return out of it.
  11. No, you've got a point there, and he says a 15rd and 16 rd mags, so I'm not going to lie, this might actually be a full size.
  12. It has been my experience that this is a matter of preference. It's the famouse battle of .20 cal variant vs .30 cal variant, lighter rounds have been found to have flatter trajectories.
  13. Military style combat pants, some of which I have turned into shorts, Dickies Cargo Khakis. Swiss Gear apparel. I have a couple of sets of clothes that are specifically created and designed for conceal carry for situations that require more "class" as opposed to casual. What I really need to buy is another Alien Gear Shoulder Holster, I bought one last year for my Shield when the company was still relatively new to the market and they were a little cheaper, only because at the DeSantis NYC Undercover Holster was on backorder until January of this year, turned out to be a 100x better of a buy. Most comfortable, secure, and accessible holster I've owned, and it holds 2 backup mags, but I'm waiting until I finally settle on my setup again. I've been doing a lot of changing around of what I have in the house, and until I reach some steady ground with what I have, I'm not trying to make that investment.
  14. Look at the Kimber Ultra Carry II, i kept it in my pocket, or an ankle rig.
  15. Hey man, if you're looking to go the 1911 route, Academy in Franklin had a full size Rock Island when I went in there yesterday, great price point for 1911, and I've owned a couple of RIs, never failed me, only things I ever changed were sights and got a match grade barrel, and even before that they were close to par with my Kimbers.
  16. I've looked into getting one of these just hadn't really heard any feedback on them.
  17. This whole bill is the start of them taking everything. It isn't about protecting our children, it's about control. Look into all the fine print. This is the outline and foot in the door for them to disarm the civilian population. This bill will have an impact on LAW ABBIDING CITIZENS. Like the OP said on point #1, you decide to make that call on your neighbor, or your ex decides to stir some stuff up and call them on you, they/you don't even get due process to defend themselves, their house will be raided, and items confiscated. How does this not bother people?
  18. Alright, I've used quite a few different types of boresight over the past few years, and I want to know if anyone has any recommendations or thoughts? I for one used to love in chamber sights, where the boresight is mock cartridge you just throw in the chamber, vs a universal that goes into the barrel, but I've grown to hate them because after about 200 sightings and depending on what you're sighting, say an AR, the boresight essentially is no longer "true" because the force of the bolt, or if using a pistol, the slide, causes it to knock itself out of level, and you can't fix it, $30 isnt much at the time, but when you've gone through 3 or 4 bore sights, it gets kinda frustrating. Universal sights are great, but depending on how they "adjust" to fit the bore, I've had issues with them being level.
