  1. I've never fired one, but I've always liked the looks of that model. I'd definitely try one if the price was right! I bet you'll like it.
  2. I'm still not convinced there would be any difference.
  3. Perhaps the same ones who trafficked illegal weapons into Mexico for the same reason? I do not make any accusations that any politician had a hand in this tragedy. However, I am to the point that NOTHING any politician could possibly do would surprise me.
  4. Sounds like a plan. Colt sure knew how to produce high quality stuff in that timeframe.

    Kimber Solo

    They sure look pretty.
  6. It sure didn't take Michael Bloomberg long to jump on the ban guns speech. I can't put my finger on the reason why just yet, but I too think this is very odd. I also believe this will do great damage to legal gun ownership in the near future. All you Romney supporters do realize he implemented an "Assault Weapons Ban" in his state while governer, right? http://www.iberkshires.com/story/14812/Romney-signs-off-on-permanent-assault-weapons-ban.html
  7. What model is it? Does it have a hole for a lanyard ring? Serial #? You do realize that 38 Long Colt and 38 Special are two different cartridges, right? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/.38_Long_Colt Looks like a neat old gun.
  8. It says I'm probably thinking of voting for Romney in November... WRONG!!!!!!

    Brand New Rock

Don't compare it to a Glock again, and we'll say you got a great deal. Rock Islands are of very good quality for the money.
  10. My wife can defend herself. My children are rarely in public without one, if not both of us. School is the one place my children are vunerable to something such as this. However, there are gunbuster signs clearly posted, so it shouldn't be an issue there, right?
  11. What you've suggested is a very small market. I wouldn't think you'd have a ton of business with that alone. However, if you could make it into some sort of tourist attraction/souvenir shop, in addition to what you're thinking, you'd have a great market in Chattanooga. Also, if you could carry obselete parts/ ammunition/ etc. for such guns, you'd definitely have a wider market.
  12. It has advertised on the radio all week. I hope it is better than previous Lebanon shows. The ones I've been to were a waste of time and $.
  13. I didn't gather enough information from the original post, or the article linked, to tell you what I'd do in that situation. I guess I really wouldn't know until I was placed in the situation.
  14. Now there's one you can load hot. A centerfire conversion cylinder is also available for it.
  15. I'd buy the Colt for collecting, and the Smith and Wesson for shooting. I expect the Colt is likely chambered for 38 Colt, which isn't interchangeable with 38 Special, and very pricey and hard to come by.
  16. I say just sell it. There's no law against it. I've sold 100's of guns, and they may be knocking on my door in the morning, but so far I've not had any problems with "my name" being associated with one. Just curious, have any of you here ever been questioned about a gun you sold? I've always heard the old scenerio about you selling a gun that would then be used in a crime, and the police would come after you. Never heard of an incident of that actually happening, however. I would be interested to hear if it's happened to you.
  17. I don't know about the Ubertis, but the Colt grips supposedly vary so much that most custom grip makers prefer to have the gun in hand in order to fit them properly. I would expect grips for a Colt SAA would roughly fit, as it appears to be an exact copy. What kind of grips are you looking for? You know, there's a Colt SAA in my safe that I've never fired. No one else has either, since it was made in 1967. I may have to change that one day soon.
  18. Looks like a very nice piece. I've always been a nut for Ithaca shotguns, and thought I'd like to have an Ithaca 1911-A1. Just haven't found one I was willing to pay for, and I'm not sure I've ever seen one nicer than yours. Heck, you know how to vacation!
  19. My wife goes on vacation with me. No room in the car trunck for anything like that!
  20. I like it. I don't see how you made it this long without shooting it.
  21. Right, but sadly, as gun owners, we are all lumped in together. If we can help new people to enjoy and be safe in their first experience, maybe we won't see on the news that yet another idiot shoots another at a gun range. Also, the more people we can get to enjoy shooting, the stronger our pro 2nd amendment stance will be.
  22. 2400 for full house loads, and Bullseye for plinkers.
  23. So.....were they hot?
  24. Please verify this as I am not certain, but I believe this rifle will have a different bore daimeter thana recently manufactured 8mm.
  25. He's a good guy....and a BIG mutha too!
