  1. You ain't gonna like the answers you get. She's either nuts, working on a guilty concience, or both. Marrying her isn't going to make it any better. Do you really want to live like that the rest of your life?
  2. I love it! It is accurate. Not competition accurate, but more than enough so for informal target shooting. I'd invite you to come try it out. but Chattanooga's a apretty good ride from here. Kieefer has an accurate one there; that High Standard HD. That's a quality gun.
  3. I'll add a few 22s. Winchester 62a Savage 19NRA Winchester 67 Remington 514 Anschutz ? Remington nylon 66 and the boys' Cricketts. The 62a is the finest 22 rifle I've ever owned.
  4. Nice looking group, Sid! 22s take up the bulk of my shooting, due to reasonable ammo cost and minimal recoil and noise. Here's what I currently have in 22 handguns. An NAA revolver, a couple of Savage 101 single shots, a Heritage Arms single action, a Colt Frontier Scout, a Ruger Single Six, a GSG 1911 22, and my personal favorite: a model 18 Smith and Wesson Combat Masterpiece.
  5. Are they rusty? Parts broken or missing? Are they new in the box? This is kind of like asking: I have a red truck...what's it worth? Buy a copy of Fjestad's Blue Book of Gun Values. It'll help a lot. You can alos look at completed auctions on sites such as gunbroker.com.
  6. That's the ONLY way to go! A car there is as usless as a battleship.
  7. I like old stuff, and I'm' more of an accumulator than a collector. My interests lean toward bone and stag handles, and include brands such as: Cattaraugus, Winchester, Remington, Camillus, Robeson, John Primble, Keen Kutter, New York Knife Co, Union Cut Co, Schatt & Morgan, etc. I also have a thing for fixed blade hunting knives.
  8. We stayed at Coronado Springs. It was beautiful. The hotel was so big that you rode a bus from your room to the lobby. If I went again, I'd consider staying at the Animal Lodge. I strongly suggest you purchase a meal plan. Some of the places we ate were $70-$80 a plate!!! I found the Deluxe plan to be too much. I thought the basic plan would be too little. I heard there was an intermediate plan now, if so I'd look into that one. With the deluxe plan, I walked continusouly for a week, and still gained about 10 pounds!
  9. YES! I'd suggest you buy a copy of Birnbaum's book about Disney. You also need to start planning now, and calling to make reservations at some of the nicer restuarants. You don't want to eat a a nice one every meal, but some of the various restuarants there are sure worth visiting. Getting to eat different foods from different parts of the world seemed to be a highlight of my childrens' trip there last year.
  10. Probably don't want my help. The last safe I moved, I dropped it on my wife's foot and broke all her toes on that foot. You can move one around easily by yourself with a heavy duty handtruck/dolly. Getting on and off the moving truck is the trick.
  11. Great job. How'd you convince them to actually publish that?
  12. It takes a real man to admit and try to correct mistakes. It takes another real man to forgive them.

    The Gun Room

I went in there this morning, and had a good, long chat with the owner. He was a very nice, professional guy. It appears that he runs a good business, has fair prices, and a first rate firing range. I asked about the carry policy inside his store. His response made sense to me. He said that he didn't care if you concealed carry, but frowned on open carry, and all guns taken in to shoot at the firing range should be in a case. His reason for this was that if you and your children were in the store, and there was a negligant discharge injuring one of them, he'd be held responsible. I can appreciate that. If it gets your drawers in a wad, I guess I'd just stay away.
  14. I don't know a thing about it, but keep us posted. I may want to try one myself.
  15. Paul and Storm » Cheetos Please click the "play the song" icon at the top. It won't take but a second.
  16. I wanted a custom hunting knife, and after years of sticker shock, I decided I'd just try my hand at making my own. I ordered this kit: Modern Skinner (Parts Only) When it got here, I grabbed some scrap walnut I had handy and went to work. It isn't perfect, but I'm happy for a first attempt. I learned a lot. It really isn't as complicated as I imagined; just a lot of sanding and sanding and sanding and sanding and sanding...... Let's see what you've made!
  17. Eden's Knives Home Page Middle Tennessee is a big place. If you'd put your hometown in the "where" column, we'd be better able to help you. This store is in Lafayette, and has a good selection.
  18. I bought a CVA Wolf at Walmart a few years ago for a hundred and some odd dollars. I just wanted to see how it shot. It shot great! I love it. That would be my suggestion. It shoots good, has a good trigger, is drilled and tapped for a scope, is easy to clean, and easy to carry. It has a big fluffy recoil pad, that takes the punch out of shooting it. ...and the proof is in the pudding.
  19. I love it! Looks like you're doing good work there. That's a good way to kill time in this fine weather we've been having.
  20. Looks dangerous.....you'd better let me hang onto that for ya. Man, even the box is in good shape! Congratulations. That's a fine investment.
  21. I have one like it, buy nickel. It is a tack driver!
  22. I suppose, but don't really know for sure. There were a couple of craftsmen there I've never seen before. One was selling leather goods such as western rigs, belts, etc. Another guy had handmade turkey calls, powder horns, and stuff like that. Some may not care for it, but I'm always interested to see that type of thing. There was one guy there selling gutter guards. They shouldn't let someone like that buy a table if he isn't doing something gun or knife related.
  23. Where were you, and what kind of stuff did you have? I'd like to know who you are if I go back tomorrow.
