  1. Nice people, pretty good selection, high prices. They are very helpful and seem glad to have your business. They are higher than online prices, but end up about the same by the time you pay shipping.
  2. Cylinder 22 Blemished - Heritage Manufacturing, Inc Cool! They have 22 LR cylinders for $24.95!!!!! Now I'm all set.
  3. I'm sorry for your loss. I'll tell you that you likely hurt her feelings by making her take money. Sometimes the nicest thing you can do is to graciously accept a gift. I struggle with that myself. Looks like a nice group of guns. I'm sure they'll be special to you. I'm especially attracted to that 375 H&H! The mauser action, like that rifle is built on, is the standard by which all others are judged.
  4. Are you looking for a lined or unlined holster? A quick draw belt? A cartridge belt? Or just a sturdy 1-1/2" double layer gun belt?

    whats it worth

If it had a 3" barrel, you could add about $1000 to the price!
  6. A scope is a good example of "you get what you pay for".
  7. Thanks and welcome to the forum. I've found a couple of models that are close, but not an exact match. Anschutz must have made them in a myriad of styles. There isn't nearly as much info out there as you'd think.
  8. http://www.tngunowners.com/forums/show-tell/51231-my-new-grips-45-acp.html You might ask ftncityfatboy's son in law. It appears he knows what he's doing. Have you looked at a dremel tool? You can get a lot of attachments for them.
  9. Is that a 1905 Colt? You don't see those everyday.

    hello everybody

Come on in, sit down, tell us a little bit about yourself.
  11. WalMart sells a 3-9 Tasco for $39.99 I think it is. It'll work as well as anything you'd find for $50-75. Walmart.com: Tasco Pronghorn 3-9 x 32 Scope, Matte: Hunting My mistake.....$31.37 and 97 cent shipping!!!
  12. No. The rimfire scopes are just more cheaply built, as they don't have to withstand the recoil of a high powered rifle. A regular scope will work fine on your rifle. You won't regret the money spent on a quality scope. If you don't mind buying used, decide what you want and let me know. I have several used scopes I'd let go for a fair price.
  13. My experience is that just because a police officer tells you something does not make it correct. Your mileage may vary.
  14. Ouch. Sorry to hear that. It could happen to any of us.
  15. I picked one up last night for a song. It is blue with the laminated grips and a 4.5" barrel. It came only with a 22 Mag cylinder. I've been skeptical of them because of their inexpensive prices, but couldn't pass this one up. I shot it today, and I'll have to say I'm very impressed. The action is way smoother than my Ruger Single Six, and every bit as smooth as my Colt Frontier Scout. The fit and finish isn't as good, but it shoots great. I'm not fond of the safety on it, but it really isn't a big deal either. For the money, I think these are really neat guns. I may have to get a new one sometime. They have a myriad of variations and finishes.
  16. As for the tumbler, I have a Frankford Arsenal model from Midway. I like it fine. I will tell you that you can buy corn cob bedding material at Petsmart for a fraction of what you'd pay for media at a gun store. I also use Nu-Finish car polish in leiu of the more expensive brass polish.
  17. Here's my theory on tools: I'll buy the least expensive tool I think will do the job. If that tool ever breaks, wears out, or simply doesn't get the job done to my satisfaction, I'll buy a more expensive one to replace it. I bought a Lee Anniversary Kit over 15 years ago. I'm still using it. That would be my suggestion. Lee makes quality stuff that works well at a very attractive price.
  18. I've traveled far and wide, and I've come to the conclusion that the average person doesn't know half what they should know about driving....or voting.
  19. Looks good. An ajustable groover, a freehand groover, and a stitch wheel would make your stitching look a lot more professional. The rest looks great. LOL! 12 oz leather could be used to make brake shoes!!! I like 7/8 oz, or 8/9 oz for really heavy stuff like the gun pictured here. He'll need a really stiff belt to support that hogleg.
  20. I'm in Lafayette.....it ain't near nothin!!!!!!!!!
