  1. You made 100% based on my training course.
  2. A gentleman by the name of Sam Colt has been making them for about a century now. I see you didn't include him in your list.
  3. I hope you get a camera. We'd like to see a picture in the "SHOW AND TELL" section.
  4. ...not to mention the dangers of sex.
  5. leroy, I know how a 1911 works. To load a round in the chamber, and then to put the hammer on half cock, one has to pull the trigger on a live round while hopefully holding the hammer with the thumb. This is at best a foolish and dangerous practice. If there is another way to accomplish this, I'm all ears.
  6. I'd just push him in the lake.

+1. Pinned barrel, recessed cylinder......these are marks of a true high quality Smith and Wesson, built when gun guys ran the company. Key locks and MIM parts.....the mark of crap bean counters engineered and try to pass off under the Smith and Wesson name.
  8. I would encourage you to take the 1911 apart and study the inner workings of it. If you have any engineering ability at all about you, you'll understand how the 1911 was meant to be carried.
  9. :DThis isn't the classified section, but I sold that one for $45.
  10. I can. I sold that one to a guy in Alabama today. Let's see how he likes it, as I'm not an IWB fan. I think it will be pretty good.
  11. If you decide to part with it, advertise it here on the forum for sale.
  12. I'd watch gunbroker.com, as they regularly have mags for sale, and occasionally a bolt. They are gonna cost ya.
  13. Cocked and Locked! The way God and John Browning intended.
  14. If you get a suitable load worked up, let us know. I have an old Parker that belonged to my great, great grandfather, and I'd love to give it a whirl.
  15. We wanted a short trip, so to the internet I went. I found rooms at the Inn at Henry Horton still available, so since we'd never been to Chapel Hill, we decided to give it a try. We had a blast. There is a pool, nice park with the Duck River running through it, hiking trails, a skeet and trap range as well as a pistol range, an award winning golf course, and a holst of other neat sights and activities. All weekend, there was a park ranger guiding tours and teaching classes on assorted outdoor activities from tree identification, to doll making, to care and firing of a flintlock muzzleloader, to various means of fire starting, to making various primitive weapons. He was awesome. I learned a lot from him, and so did my boys. The park restuarant featured a very reasonably priced buffet of delicious southern food. Everyone there was very friendly, and the crowd was nearly non existent, especially for a holiday weekend. I am often down on our government, but I highly recommend a long weekend at one of our beautiful state parks. Best of all, I spent less than $200 for a very enjoyable and memorable weekend for four.
  16. I can see how they'd be handy. I am not a farmer, however, so the old four wheeler serves my needs fine. i can strap a treestand on the back, a deer on the front, and I'm good to go. For gardening chores, I have one of those plastic dump bed trailers to hook behind it.
  17. My brother-in-law swears by those Mule/Gator type ATVs for farm use.
  18. If it says Honda on it and isn't ragged completely out, your good to go. I'm still riding an 85 model, and probably wouldn't trade it for a new one.
  19. Looks like a great product to me. Kinda of a shoddy website, though. I might have to try some.
  20. There is a little tool you can use to load/unload moon clips. I've seen the handmade also from a piece of pipe. I haven't tried any plastic moon clips. I wasn't aware they were available. I have a Brasillian as well. They are one of the most underrated Smith and Wessons.
  21. A guy left a PK380 here to have a holster made for it. I didn't shoot it, but although the gun feels pretty good in your hand, I believe a common brick would be easier to conceal. That think is almost Hi Point big!!!
  22. Years ago I would have agreed with you. The technology bullet manufacturers have brought to us today, along with the trend of the heavier .223 bullets have made the 223 a formitable medium game cartridge.
