Sir, I hope I'm not coming off as a know it all, I just thought of some possibilities and didn't know whether or not you've considered them. I'd like to see you identify the source of the problem so we can all learn from it. Keep us posted and good luck!

The Savages are a 250-300, a 243 Winchester, and a 300 Savage. I think the top one is a 99A, the middle one is a 99F, and I'm not certain of the lower one. It wears a Bausch and Lomb Balvar. I think it is adjustable from 1.5-3x, or something like that. It was one of the first variables. My father built the top two mausers. The top one is a 280 Remington, and will shoot one hole groups at 100 yards. The pretty one is a 257 Roberts. The next one is a 95 Mexican I sporterized for bad weather deer hunting. It has the military 7x57 barrel. I have less than $50 invested in it. The bottom one is a Musketeer chambered for 243 Winchester. It hs the mannlicher style stock.

Another probably obvious question.... Are the bullets round? Could the be an oblong shape caused by something gone wrong in the casting process? A 642 should stabilize a 158 grain bullet.

Another possibility......If you are shooting a paper target with a slow, round nosed bullet, the bullet often tears the paper and could leave the impression of an unstable bullet. They don't cut pretty little round holes like wadcutters. Perhaps you could shoot something more substantial such as a piece of wood or heavy cardboard and see if the holes look different.

I'm finding some pretty good buys on firearms...prices and models I haven't seen for several years. However, I have a friend who runs a gun shop and he says business is very slow lately.

Summit Goliath SS I love my Summit Goliath climbing stand!! It has plenty of room, is very stable and comfortable, and is light enough to comfortably backpack for miles. If somthing ever happens to it, I would definitely buy another.

I'd be in favor of such a regulation. It seems to me that the quality of bucks I'm seeing has been getting gradually better since the harvest limit was cut a few years ago. I wouldn't even be opposed to you having to check in a doe before you were allowed to shoot a buck. However, if any such restrictions were placed, I'd like to see them waived for the juvenile hunts.

I'm thinking about getting one for measuring powder. I've always used a balance beam scale. It works fine, but I thought the electronic one would be more convenient. What words of wisdom do you have for me on the subject? Which model and brand would you reccommend and why?

My wife has a selection of Galco purses. They are quite expensive, but very well made purses. I suspect that with the right marketing, these purses would become popular in non conceal carry versions as well.

I'm pretty sure it is illegal to purchase or possess a handgun if you are under 21.
