Benchmade auto knives worth the extra money?
Chucktshoes replied to jeff43's topic in Knives, Lights, EDC Gear
I’m one of those people who sliced the ever living crap out of my finger with that particular group buy knife. It was magnificently, sharp and went really deep in the tip of my finger. So yeah, if you’re going to put an auto in your pocket it better have a manual safety. -

It seems squirrel season just opened at my house!

I mean, I say shoot a few. Fry them up. Enjoy a meal and leave the bones out by the truck as a warning. -
Tagging @TGO Davidbecause I know how much you love a good stipple job.

I believe that to be the case. There are also other pending cases that may have a great impact without being thought of as directly 2A related such as the re-evaluation of Chevron Deference.

Slide milling for 1911 platform?
Chucktshoes replied to CGM's topic in Gunsmithing & Troubleshooting
I have someone I’d recommend for pretty much anything. He’s done a lot of work for me including some excellent customization on multiple BHPs. I’d still get on the Wilson waitlist if I were in your shoes. -
Surefire X300U-a has a push button clamping mount. The b is a thumb screw, but the a sounds like what you’re after. Takes about a second to install or remove and is actually a duty grade light.

Interesting exchange with my State Representative.
Chucktshoes replied to Grayfox54's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
The real thinker over at T-Rex put out this video that talks about the TN special session in specific and Red Flag laws in general. Lots of good information that may be helpful for talking to your legislators. -
Some of their contracts are obligated to go to other union carriers, the rest of them. I expect to get picked up by the big boys. As far as their equipment goes, they’re known for having the oldest rusty ass buckets of bolts rattling down the highway. I imagine a scrapyard will pick them up for pennies because that’s about all the good for.

I have a friend who was employed by YRC until yesterday. The company has been mismanaged and dying for years. They have been repeatedly bailed out by the federal government (most recently $700 million in Covid money) and the Union (multiple concessionary contracts) and the union didn’t so much kill them as refuse to bail them out again letting them drown under their own ineptitude. Their customers knew what was coming and over the last year they’ve lost 30% of their volume and over the last number of years have shrank to 9% market share. Yellow was always going to die, it was simply a matter of when.

Is the charge a felony, or have a possible sentence of incarceration for more than 1 year? Those are the disqualifying factors at play in the 4473 questions. TICS may still deny based on the active case, even though by rights they shouldn't. But if you can answer those questions honestly you can know that you aren’t committing a crime at least by attempting to complete the transaction.

Pretty much this.

I wonder if Corey B. Trotz is licensed in Ohio.
-
It was a helluva rough watch. I highly recommend seeing it.

Nit picky is the name of the game when it comes to DOT. Most especially in Ohio. That said, if it was somewhere else, I would say the odds would be 50/50 that the officer would’ve just given him a warning and told him to go get it fixed at the next truck stop.

https://www.instagram.com/reel/CvFTUw8gh1q/?igshid=MzRlODBiNWFlZA== Western Express is a Nashville based company. Better than average chance the driver is a Tennessean.

When you drive a CMV, DOT can pull you over at any time for any or no reason at all and perform a roadside inspection. It isn’t like someone in their POV. Totally different rule set for CMVs. That mud flap is a violation in and of itself. That kind of thing is also generally a red flag that more violations are likely to be found because it’s the sort of thing that should be found and corrected during the legally mandated pre-trip inspection.

You’re right. The officer’s excessive use of force by sending in his K9 to attack a subject who was fully surrendered, non-resistant, and in the custody of another officer is far worse.
-
This is one of those instances where I think many folks have a problem with looking at, and analyzing things in an honest manner. They always want to find a singular person to blame for the entirety of the situation. The reality is the guy who ran and the k9 officer were both wrong in their actions. The actions of either is neither excused nor justified by the actions of the other. Each must be investigated, charged, and prosecuted where appropriate independently and in isolation of the other

The wife and I have decided to go see it this weekend.

White House press release from a meeting they held. Since senior leadership in LEAs are political positions and they oftentimes go on to seek positions of greater power, there is a name on this list of attendees that should be of specific interest to Tennesseans in general and Nashvillians in particular.
