  1. I just listened to the first bonus episode on Joshua Harris. I don’t have any connection to him or his work, but something about that episode just really resonated with me. I’m not sure exactly what it’s poking at, but oof it’s got my insides stirred up.
  2. The media demand for white supremacy is so high that like the construction industry before it, those jobs are now being outsourced to Mexicans as well.
  3. I binged the first 5 episodes today on the drive up to Chicago today. Man this is an extremely well done and engaging listen. Having been in a plant (not Acts 29 affiliated) at the peak of the Mark Driscoll/Mars Hill phenomenon in the mid-00s/early 10s I remember it being a very big thing. My pastor at the time was fairly critical of Driscoll’s personal style but was friendly with the pastors of the Acts 29 plants in the area. I myself admired what it appeared was going on with Mars Hill from the outside. The rock star vibe was very real and very attractive to a newer Christian like myself at the time. All that to say, I’ve got a measure of personal attachment to the subject matter and have gotten sucked in immediately.
  4. Yeah, you can always count on TMC to come up with killer musical choices. I’m looking forward to seeing this season in print as a book. I re-listened to season 1 a while back. I figure I’d go through season 2 again once we get close to 3.
  5. His ability to weave a story from such wildly disparate places to revolve around one single person is amazing. Season 3 though is supposed to return to the season 1 format of multiple smaller stories. Lemme ask though, what was your opinion of the intro sections? Some friends didn’t care so much for them but I really enjoyed those parts. It was like two podcasts in one.
  6. Sorry for the slow reply, primarily interested in cash. That said, the right trade will be considered. I’m the laziest seller on this site, I swear.
  7. Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald hands down. “The lake it is said, never gives up her dead.”
  8. That’s the question ain’t it? How can one be convicted of sex trafficking underage girls to nobody at all?
  9. The Qanon theories actually involved JFK Jr still being alive, or having been killed because of what he knew. Can’t remember exactly but totally weird stuff.
  10. At this point a lot of “conspiracy theories” are more correctly labeled as “plot spoilers”. If it does then apparently I drank it too because I full on believe that Epstein didn’t kill himself. The theory that makes the most sense to me is that he was an intelligence asset that had become too compromised and too visible and was eliminated.
  11. I mean, the current head of the CIA met with Epstein multiple times in just 2014 AFTER he was a convicted sex offender. So there might be more than smoke there.
  12. In my estimation Qanon seems to be a popular subject amongst two categories of people, but it used to be three. The category that doesn’t exist anymore were your “he’s playing 4D chess against the deep state/swamp/elites” types. Most of them have given up on that fantasy. The two types of folks left are the real nutters who actually think reptilians walk amongst us and the libs who really, really want that to be the majority of the Republican Party. It’s total fringe wackadoodle shįt.
  13. I used to talk mad crap about the M-14 platform for all of its technical failings until I held one in my hand and shouldered it. They just feel good and are aesthetic as hell. Doesn’t matter that every single one of the Cold War era battle rifles are technically superior, I fricken love the damn thing.

  15. Krystal & Sagaar do some of the best news/political commentary out there. Krystal Ball is a former MSNBC contributor and Sagaar Enjeti used to work for the Daily Caller as a White House press correspondent and actually got his start in political reporting working for Tucker Carlson. If you skip past that bit that was the very opening moments of the show, I think it’s well worth it.
  16. Asked a buddy of mine from the area and he said that it’s just a “nothing, nowhere town. Nothing bad happens, but nothing good either.”
  17. Don Lemon out at CNN too. It’s a helluva Monday for cable news. https://www.cnbc.com/2023/04/24/cnn-anchor-don-lemon-is-leaving-the-network.html
  18. I’m not in middle TN and also never seem to be able to find off time, but I’ve been toying with getting back into TTRPGs. I just picked up a Pathfinder starter set and am thinking about tryna find some local folks to get a group running.
  19. Bingo. This is a political act made for political purposes.
  20. It’s back on the market y’all as I’m considering the deal having fallen through after being ghosted for the last two weeks.
  21. Honestly, I think Bredesen was better because the R’s in the legislature acted like they had something to prove.
