  1. Yeah, they really, really effed up all the way around.
  2. That would’ve been far more defensible. That one single rep really, really screwed the pooch for the entire TN GOP.
  3. And you know you’re about to be robbed inside the shop at the place down the road.
  4. Regardless of whatever the reason really is, it appears it can be only a single reason. One the female rep herself made the suggestion it could be. As to any argument it’s anything else, we had a saying when I was in the Air Force. “The appearance of impropriety is impropriety itself.” It doesn’t matter what it is, it’s only what it looks like. To me and pretty much the rest of the country it looks like pure old school racism. Whomever the rep that voted differently for her is has got some serious ‘splainin to do.
  5. As someone who is opposed to the ways in which CRT filters down into lower level curriculums, I find myself in a position of asking “are y’all trying to make their case for them you effing idiots?!”
  6. Facts Especially with the uneven application of sanctions. It was a terrible, terrible move.
  7. I wish I was in that part of the state. I love those. I’d pick up a gaggle of them for myself and the kids.
  8. It it’s pointed straight down, yeah. It’s gonna drop straight through. What if the gun was never pointed down? What if he did the point at the ceiling, cool guy, slide rack? Say the mag had just enough tension to barely hold it then when it was inserted it let go of it. Slide is pulled back, .40 round pops up and the slide grabs the .45 round as it moves forward. Then it goes into the barrel and gets pushed forward by the .45 round behind it. It was never stuck, but it just sat in front of the chambered round. Trigger gets pulled, kaboom!
  9. I went and pulled the individual images in full resolution and one provides the better picture of the view from the bottom where you can see the barrel’s failure point. It makes the overt damage make much more sense.
  10. Man, when we had the General Politics section I almost banned myself.
  11. I find the market response to the introduction of .30 super carry as an alternative to 9 mm being a resurgence of .380 to be immensely amusing.
  12. Seems to be a pretty run-of-the-mill fudd take. “I am a hunter who owns guns, but nobody needs an AR-15.“” As far as the comments go, they’re the same regurgitated, talking points of people who have no experience with firearms or understanding of the context, in which the second amendment was written.
  13. There are two things going on here, one of them is the debate on whether public funds should be spent to protect a private institution. That is a legitimate debate worth having. The other thing is your view on the purpose and design of state funded public education. I would have to say that you bought a line of BS hook line and sinker. Because well, that’s what they’re selling to folks, that isn’t what they actually do and it was never their purpose to do so. Despite the best efforts and intentions of a lot of well-meaning teachers, education as a general rule, happens in spite of public schools, not because of them. They were never designed to educate people.
  14. If you think country music is going to hurt themselves, you should see what Bud Light is doing.
  15. This is your periodic reminder that these folks are performers selling a product. The idea that they are like you or share your values is simply you projecting your thoughts onto them.
  16. I would. You could cut that dust cover off at its bend point and in theory fire it safely. The guide rails are aft of the bend. I am very curious as to how that came about because I can’t think of how you could bend that in such a manner without either pretty severe mechanical force, or very substandard materials and workmanship. I actually lean one particular direction, and it isn’t the better of the two.
  17. That appears suboptimal.
  18. I am a proponent of total school choice, where the money follows the child, and not tied to a specific geographical district.
  19. Well, good to see you back. Missed your voice.
  20. It’s what we strive for. As long as folks strive to engage honestly and in good faith, they’re welcome. When that stops being the case, folks stop being welcome even if they’ve been around for a long time.
  21. I would be highly disappointed if they didn’t. Also, any that might be hanging out, eat a dick.
  22. They come in two versions. With and without the corkscrew. Knowing it’s a French military knife I kinda feel like ya need the corkscrew version.
  23. They can’t buy one from an FFL. They can purchase one private party and possess one with zero issues in TN.
