  1. This was the first handgun my father gave to me so, I cherish it. Do the moon clip thing. You may be surprised at how well those plain sights will work. For kicks, pick up a lanyard sometime just to add to it. You can also get nice replica military flap holsters. Pacific Canvas & Leather Co. INC
  2. I hear ya Retch. I went to the Shriner show on Sat and could not find a single thing. Wanted to ask for my money back. Very small show.
  3. Anybody been to this one before? It is at the National Guard Armory on Hwy 321 across from the Harley shop.
  4. You traded a functioning Glock for a beta-testing Diamondback 9mm? Seriously?
  5. Is this gun truly a pocket pistol? When placed into a pocket holster and put into my Lee jeans front pocket [or back] will it fit or, will it print? I really, really really want a pocket 9 but, none of the offeings ala the Shot Show seem to be any smaller than my Keltec P11 [except for thickness of course]. All Ruger, Khar and rest had to do was to shave off 1" from grip and 1/2" from barrel.
  6. Yup, I go to Riks whenever possible. Last time I went to GC, I waited and waited and waited while some little jerk tried to ring up a simple sale. Marched out and told the girl at the door that I simply can not spend time and not get waited on.
  7. Held my nose and watched CBS. The report was pretty damming of ATF. The testimony by the agents and the denial of interview by ATF officials leads me to the conclusion that in fact, ATF has let a number of weapons go illegaly across the U.S. border....actually encouraged it. Get this, they knew of the illegal who was purchasing rifles for over a year and only arrested him AFTER he murdered the U.S. Border patrol agent. This is going to get ugly

    Sig 238

Hogwash....shooting a right handed gun left handed does NOT shower you with brass. Everyone on this board knows better than that!
  9. Yes, this story is developing "legs". There are some Senators who are now smelling blood on this one. Stay tuned!
  10. There is a site cleanupbatf.org It seems some of their own agents have started squealing on them. Seems the corruption is so bad, some agents have a hard time living with it. Supposedly, one of the guns was used to kill a U.S. Border Patrol agent. That is the big rub. Edited to correct the URL: cleanupatf.org is correct
  11. Obummers people demonize the guns that my grandfathers used to keep our country free. Great. That's just great. And, par for the course. It is no wonder I hate the man. I respect the office but, despise the man.
  12. I ride frequently while open carrying. Adds a kick to the experience for some reason. I ESPECIALLY LIKE to be at a red light next to a car of Obama supporters....sorry just had to add that. Favorite is the shiney Vaquero with the white grips.
  13. rab, one reason they wrote the law that way is in case the wind blows your shirt or vest or coat back and, someone sees your gun. In some states, you WILL be in trouble for that but, not in good ole Tennessee! Thus, the possibility for open carry exists by the way the law reads.

    Sig 238

Why Sig did not put an ambi safety on this gun is beyond me. I called them and told them that they have automatically eliminated 15% of their customers. All I got was a "duh" from them. How utterly stupid.
  15. Yes, I have a Keltec PLR-16 and, it is the bees knees! A handgun, I can have it in the seat next to me in my truck. Ani't a darn thing officer Oppey can do about it. It has a red dot mounted on top, a bipod underneath and so help me, shoots about as accurate as my Colt 16" HBAR! When I showed it to my buddies who just aquired AR rifles, they swore that they are going to get one. Mine is reliable and would be one of the last guns I would sell. As for the ballistics......it is loaded with Hornady Tap which solves the velocity problem out of a short barrel AR. A great gun. ETA: I would not fool with the Bushmaster junk...with the recoil spring sticking out the back, you are about as large as an M4. Plus the PLR is about $500. How much Bushy can you buy for $500? Not even half of one.

    Ruger GP-100

GP100 is my favorite DA six shooter. If you get a chance to pop on one at a good price, DO NOT pass it up!
  17. Garufa, I'm with you man. I wish ANYONE other than Campfield be the one to introduce this bill. He is viewed as an irresponsible moron by many, many people, unfortunately. Should have gotten the guy from Straw Plains to have done it.
  18. How about passing a law that makes it illegal for a public official to be within 1,000 feet of me? Perhaps dress them in clown suits and make them wear bells so, we know when they are approaching?
  19. I have the 9mm and the .40. Supposedly, Browning will stop selling the .40 this year or next so, they may become scarce. Heck, Hipowers in general are always scarce since they only import one batch per year. Anyway, the 9mm is the flagship but the .40 has been called the softest shooting .40 you can get. The recoil on the .40 is considerably more than the 9mm. I frequently carry one of the other. You can not go wrong with one of these.
  20. I would like to know if the Arizona congress woman was carrying a gun at the time of the shooting? Most people I ask reply with "It would not have made any difference". That is true when the bad guy gets a drop on you so to speak. BUT.....she is supposedly pro-gun so here is my argument; If she admits to carrying a gun for personal protection, it would literaly throw water onto the anti gunners who are dancing in her blood and trying to get more gun control laws passed. If this "pro-gun" lady gets her voice back and does not denounce the liberals who still point fingers at we pro-second people then, she will be one of the biggest hypocrits in history. Just my opinion.
  21. A Black-N-Tan is good to start. Then.....a nice vino for dinner. Then, vodka straight up and/or Cap'n Morgan. Holidays are even more special!
  22. Here ye, here ye Most of the food in PF and Gatlinburg is CRAPPY. I mean, the definition of CRAPPY. Spend your money and take your chances but, chances are, you will get ripped off. Best thing you can do is go to Knoxville for something good or, prepare a meal in your kitchen of your room! Beware the Linebergers Seafood on the main drag of Gat. Absolutely the worst food I have ever been conned into paying for.
  23. I too have done business with Justin over the last several years. He is one of the few dealers who will trade with you and give you a decent price for your trade. Also, when everyone in Knoxville looked like a deer in headlights when I asked them to order a CZ 75, all it took was one phone call to Justin and, he brought one to the Knoxville show for me. No strings attached. I was not under obligation to buy it. Gave me the price in advance. After this, I called and requested a Walther P1. He brought me a really nice one. Several days fter the show, he mailed me the cleaning kit for it and apologized for forgetting to give it to me at the show. I tell everyone I know to do business with this dealer.
  24. I tweaked a Warthog for a freind of mine's son who went to Iraq back in 2003. It was choking badly. I brought my 400 wet-dry and Semi-Chrome polish to work one day and during lunch, I polished the feed ramp and broke the sharp edges of the chamber. A week later, he told me they put 200 rounds thru it without a glitch. Amazing what a little polishing will do. Simply amazing.
