  1. Smga.com still has them in silver for $179.
  2. Smga.com got 200 of these last week. I got one silver and one bronze. $179!
  3. Here it is: As introduced, creates an exception to the offense of possession of a machine gun, short-barreled rifle or shotgun, or a firearm silencer that the person was in compliance with the National Firearms Act when possessing. - Amends TCA Section 39-17-1302   So in other words if I had an SBS and was in compliance with NFA [paid the tax, did the paperwork] then I am still in compliance?? Seems to contradict itself.   I was already in compliance with NFA and with this law, I am still in compliance with NFA?   Weird
  4. My total reaction to reading FrankenFienstiens letter was, to go buy an M92 AK pistol.....in pure spite!
  5. Got a Shield 40 recently and got to admit, it has turned me around with respect to plastic guns. It grips, points well and the trigger is good. It may be my favorite carry gun currently.
  6. Just gotta chime in.... On motorcycle, day trip, way, way out of my way to get there and twice, I saw what has to be the smallest selection of handguns in East Tennessee. OK place to shoot I suppose but as a gun store? You must get to Bill's Outpost just a few miles away. It blows these guys away by a factor of 50 at least! Also, Stars and Stripes...you better crank up the printing press or take out a loan. Their prices are beyond Gander Mountain.   What you are seeing is a result of this booming economy. They are scaling back and soon, will not be there.
  7. Next Knoxville show includes a Friday. Are all vendors there typically or just some?
  8. Started to not go since I really don't care for the cramped aisles of Jacobs. Glad I did go. Got to pick from a crop of Chinese Type 53 Mosin Nagant carbines at $139. This was a no-brainer to me. Good bluing but rough stock that I will take care of. This will make a nice truck gun.....seeing as how I can carry a long gun legally now with permit.   Sometimes, the thrill of the hunt exceeds going with a shopping list!
  9. By type 53 you mean the Chinese? All I have read about them is that they are as rough as a cob. Did you pick up some nice ones? I would surely be interested in one.   Four Mosins here. First was all matching great condition 1945 Russian M44 for.....$25. Believe it or not. Next was a 1916 Hex. Czar of Russia still in power. A great shooter for $50 Then $50 for a nice 91/30 Finally, $100 for a minty like never shot, Polish M44 that I made into a scout rifle and boy is it ever a good shooter!   Folks, don't mess around and watch these things vanish. Buy one or two while you still can.
  10. Tell you what, you did good! Revolver is my first love of a gun for self defense. Plain and simple. GP100 is my staple revolver with good loads. The sights are great and so is the trigger.
  11. Yup same here. I actually watched a GunBroker auction for 1,000 rounds of Remmington Golden Bullet 22 bulk go for.....get ready......$130 ! If Im lying, Im dying.   There is not a shortage for those who were prepared.   I am down to 10,000 rounds of 22 and, am getting a little nervous! Down to 5,000 rounds of 7.62 feel good with that
  12. OK, I am on-board with you guys now. Yes, Nicely did say some strange things. I can not speak to the Maggart deal.....don't know anything about that one. Yes, Frank was off the deep end for sure with the NRA/Democrat stuff.   I really do hope we have some more of these rallys. It was well worth the time and drive, in my opinion.
  13. Yes, wife and I were there. The TFA guy was knowledgable but wore us out.....he rambled for it seemed 30 minutes telling us minute details about some piece of legislation that never reached a vote. Seemed sort of pointless. Nicely did a good job and was brief. I do not understand your question about Nicely. He told us that the Republicans have passed 21 good gun bills in the last several years and reminded us how bad things were with Naifey [sic]. A good rally and, they are going to have more of them. The TFA guy told us that our problems are in Nashville and Nicely told us that our problems are in D.C. which I am more inclined to believe.
  14. http://www.facebook.com/events/199844110157563/   In Sevierville Saturday, February 23. Thompson Carr Real Estate and Auction starting at 11AM. 1148 Wagner Dr Sevierville, TN 37862 http://thompsoncarr.com/location/ John Harris, Executive Director of the TN Firearms Association will be speaking about the 2nd Amendment in TN with a question and answer session afterwards. Also, Frank Nicely, TN State Senator.   This thing is picking up momentum. Wife and I will be there for sure. It is time to do all we can do to be visible and vocal, folks.
  15. I just toured 3 shops today in the Knoxville area. ALL AR, AK rifles gone and mags. The last of the AR mags went for $30 each! Ammo is being rationed at all 3 places. 2 boxes per person per day. One shop had one AR pistol left on the shelf that was not currently for sale...but....will be when the price is right! Be happy with what you have folks. And, if you have waited to get an AR, you are SOL, I'm afraid.
  16. My niece's doc said no problem to her shooting guns as she liked, during her last preg. I aint no doc.
  17. On the way home, I wheeled in to check this show. Noticed that it was not nearly as crowded as last time I was there. Reason was, they now want $8 to get in. $8 !! Simply no way I can do this. Drove off.
  18. I need to meet up with some of you guys at these shows. Found a badly needed Mosin cleaning rod for $6 and, bought the daughter another of those Finnish gas mask bags for $5. Yup, a gas mask bag this one green. I bought her one in brown last year and, she has carried it each and every day since. Go figure, a military bag used as a purse! I told the guy selling them and he acknowledged the "fad".
  19. Hmmm....I did not notice but would have assumed to get in next day but, if not posted then, I would not complain. Have been to this show a number of times and never found anything. Almost did not go but, stopped by anyway. Major Score.......all matching numbers C96 Broomhandle Mauser with some bluing left and, shoots great! $400....I about tore the guy's hand off getting it from him! Also found a Springfleld musket bayonet in darn near pristine condition for $50 that fits well on my Prussian Potsdam musket. I was one happy camper!
  20. I simply bought a dish washer rack at Wally World for a couple of bucks. Colored white, it holds I believe 7 handguns turned upside down. Had to saw part of the legs off to make it fit but, works great. Check it at Wally World.
  21. I recently learned that the pharmacy of my local Wally has been verbally attacked several times by thugs demanding to have their phoney prescripts filled. They threaten to meet the employees outside to "mess them up" and such. Police are always called. An employee of that walmart told me that the average response time for the local police has been 13 minutes! Yes, 13 minutes. Seems the cops don't want to have anything to do with it.
  22. Bought my first for $25 ! All matching, perfect blue, Tula. That was about 2002. Then, a Polish model. Best one ever made in my opinion. But $250? I would stick with the 91/30 for $120 any day of the week.
  23. I was so impressed by my first one [ nickle plated full size] that I bought another one [9mm tactical]. Still breaking them in but as posted above, I do not find much difference in RIA trigger and my Springer Loaded. RIA is great for the money.
