  1. Both guns are good and will probley out last the owner. I have both and have never had a problem. The newer Remingtons are now full of mim parts think pot metal such as the extractor and other internals. The older ones were made much better looking at them side by side. I would say the mossberg is probley better now than a current 870 express i had one and sold it.
  2. I always hear these stories of Glocks blowing up but in 13 years of working the range and millions of rounds later I have never seen it happen, but then again they were 9mm and .40 cals not 45's. I know if you fire alot of lead non jacketed bullets it will line the barrel and cause excessive pressures due to the polygonal rifling.
  3. I'd go with a glock 23 or 19 if you have large hands. The Glock has 3 safties all internal of course like said before dont pull the trigger. The only ones i care for that have safties are 1911's and Beretta 92's
  4. Thats a tough choice i've got a couple of M1A's and they are some of my favorites. That would be my first choice. But i plan on getting a garand from cmp soon because when they are gone there will be no more and they are fun to shoot. I am also looking at AR-10's currently trying to decide which one. Go with the M1a you wount be disapointed.

I had a 26 and realy liked it, i then got a 27 in 40s&w and couldnt shoot it near as good. You made a good choice I wish i still had my 26. As for holsters i carry a safari land not sure what the model is. A fobus is good, black hawk serpa are nice or if you want leather a bianchi black widow i think is the model is also good.
  6. The super match i just got was built by the late Glen Nelson and with good ammo it will shoot one ragged hole at 100yds, it opens a bit a 200yds but still real tight. Its been bedded in a Mcmillan m3a stock. I couldnt ask for more out of it.
  7. Google springfield m1a serial numbers and there is a site that has the years listed. You can also call springfield and they can tell you everything about it and send you a manuel. Its a 2000 model found the link for you. http://www.eotacforum.com/viewtopic.php?p=339102#339102
  8. I recently started loading to so far im loading 308, 243, 223 and 38 spl . I throughly enjoy it i'll start loading and next thing i know its 4am. I just hope primers get more available. Golden west brass has the best price on rifle fmj's ive found.
  9. For the money the nikon buckmaster is hard to beat i have one on a bolt gun and it works great. It may be a little long for a scout i have been looking for a scope for my scout also but i think a more compact scope will work better. If your going to use the forward scope mount that comes with the scout it wount have enough eye relief to even look through it. You would have to use a reciver mount and in that case dont skimp get a good mount and rings on my super match i have a arms #18 and arms #22 quick detach rings they work great. I have been playing this scoped M1A game for awhile now so PM me if you need any other help. There are several other good mounts out there also.
  10. If i remember correctly they were made by cresent firearms, I have the 12 ga that my grandfather traded a hog for.
  11. Why do all those Huge deer have to be up north. Nice buck wow.
  12. Guys (redfsr) is exactly right with his comments, its only used for recovered crime guns, which most have been stolen or sold a dozen times since the original owner. Its nothing to worry about.
  13. I've also got a Romak its great, shoots anything you feed it never had a problem with it. sometimes you have to fit mags when they are new but thats no problem.
  14. Thanks for the replies guys. and the info on the Berettas
  15. Any experience with either of these guns would be appriciated. I want a new shotgun for sporting clays and hunting i've got a couple of old 1100's and an 870 i like all of them but i feel like i need somthing better to be competitive at the range. I am considering a winchester SX3 or a beretta AL391 urika 2 both are about the same price around $900 (my budget) but i cant decide between two. Maybe i should just stick with the 1100's i shoot them well. Any thoughts would be greatly appriciated. Thanks
