  1. I don't post much but I recently traded a member for a gen 3 glock 20 and I have to say what a awesome handgun it is. I shot regular factory 10mm then ordered some underwood full power loads and tested them and I have to wonder what all the complaints about the 10mm were ,this gun handled all loads with ease and shot great . I then ordered a lone wolf 10-40 conversion and tested it, it functioned flawlessly with the 40 s&w in the 10 mm mags the large frame and heavy slide soaked up the recoil and it was like shooting a 9 mm . So if anybody is on the fence about 10mm im a fan now and I say go for it it's my new favorite pistol.
  2. Just got my esee jungles and wow what a blade, balance and craftsmanship is a plus can't go wrong with esee.
  3. This is just my experience, I always had heavy barrels so i bought a lightweight 308 and took it to the range to zero it and it was shooting all over the place, I could not figure out what was going on till I realized the barrel was heating up shot after shot to the point it was affecting the point of impact. I had to let it cool after each shot to get it to shoot a decent group. I dont have to do that with my heavy barreled rifles. So I figure for a hunting gun lightweight is fine if your wanting a target/range gun heavy is the way to go.
  4. I recently traded for a P229R and i have also always carried glocks but i love the sig. it doesnt carry as well IWB as my glock 23 does its thicker and heavier but its not bad. I say get one they are great guns I love mine. The sas may carry abit better but i dont know.
  5. I had a mosquito and quickly got rid of it and brokedown and bought a beretta 87 cheetha. It was pricey but it shoots perfect with all typs of ammo, I have thought about surpressing it. They cost but are great 22's
  6. Nice, I have the same gun with black micarta grips and meprolite night sights. One of the best shooting 1911's i've shot.
  7. I have a friend who has the standard mag block lower with oly 9mm upper and it shot good but it fired out of battery once and fragged us on the line with brass and blew the ejector out. That was the only issue it had.it was one one of the older uppers. Another buddy got the glock 40 model and its great it shot good and was real quiet i dont think we had to wear ear plugs with it. The glock mags go in at a angle so it takes a little practice to be smooth with reloads.
  8. The SF definatly looks shorter in the back strap thanks for the pic and dlm you plannin on partin with any of that ammo?
  9. I ordered a set of black linen micarta for mine off ebay nice grips.
  10. Thanks for the info guys sounds like just what i need, the dealer is out of them at the moment but has some on order so i'll let you know when he gets some in and the verdict.
  11. CZ 452 American most accurate 22 i have ever seen and the quality is top notch.
  12. I've got a Beretta model 87 cheetah 22lr. The slide is so smooth it feels like its on ball bearings, the craftsmanship on this thing is unreal and it will cycle any 22lr you put through it.
  13. Thanks for the responses, i do reload so that should help i guess i need to find one to fondle.
  14. I'm thinking about a Glock 20SF for a woods gun. Any owners out there with any imput? I have medium to small hands and i'm a little concerned about the grip size. The largest grip pistol i have is a sig 229 with hogue wrap arounds but its managable. Any experience or thoughts would be great. I did a search and didnt find anything posted on the site. Thanks.
  15. Birds and clays in washburn is great. thats where I go. They have a web site its all in the woods.
  16. Thanks for the help i emailed BoBs. I could not find the make your own on Brownells someone else mentioned that today but i didnt see it on brownells website. I may have to call Jacks out there if bob does'nt have one. Thanks again guys

  18. Guys I need your help. I picked up a beat up 9422 mag cheap but its missing the inner magazine tube and i cant find one anywhere. Any help would be great if you could point me in the right direction or if anyone has one that will fit it. Thanks.
  19. Like somone already said my money is on a load of pistol powder. I belive a barrel obstruction would have ruptured the barrel or just bulged it. It could have fired out of battery i guess but i dont think would have done that much damage.

    Walther 99c ?

Have one of the first run P99's imported by interarms not the c model. Its a nice pistol, the trigger leaves a little to be desired but the grip is one of the best i've felt. I belive they changed the trigger in the newer ones not sure though. $450 is a good price they were alot more than that.
  21. I have tested some tap ammo in 223 it is suppose to expand rapidly to reduce over penetration but it was realy unreliable. For a hunting bullet the barnes x bullet would probley be excellent. I shot a buck at around 120yds out of a 20'' savage 10fp with winchester 168 silver tip and it just exploded when it hit him. If it hadnt dropped him in his tracks i wouldnt have been able to find him there was no blood no exit wound so i dont use those anymore. For the price I loaded up some hornady sst bullets they look like tap rounds with the red tip but they are a sturdier built bullet. The partition bullets are also good sturdy rounds. The cheapest good sturdy bullets are good ole remington core locks.
  22. Mossberg 935 grand slam with a indian creek choke. The heavy shot blend patterns the best ,with federal 5's or 6's with the flight control wad second. Its got a 22'' barrel so you only get 35 to 40 yds max with that choke which is the best i've found so far. Its shoots alittle high any sugestions from ayone?
  23. I agee with you about the 308 being a great round. I have loaded for it for awhile now and from everything i've found 168grn is optimum unless you plan on shooting 1000 yds. you need the heavier 178's to keep the bullet stable at that range. you should send Froggyone2 a message he is a 1000yd palma match shooter who knows his stuff for more technical data.
  24. Welcome and I have been wanting to go out to reelfoot for several years now and havent made it yet. I've been wanting to go duck hunting for awhile but there's not many ducks around here.
  25. Good deal i'm glad the low rings worked out for you. I know what your talking about cheek weld, mine is in a mcmillan a5 stock with the adjustable cheek piece they are nice. My scout is like your saying its more of a chin weld to see through the scope.
