ARMS 18 Scope Mount for my M1A... Oh yeah!!
TNrifleman replied to SmokyBaer's topic in Firearms Gear and Accessories
Ok there's only about a 1/8th inch between the scope and rear sight. Mine has the NM rear sight so im not sure if there is a height difference in the standard. I dont think the low rings will work unless you move the scope to the rear aways. I put the adj gas plug in to shoot heavier bullets ie the 175's and up. The heavy loads are hard on your op rod. Its not needed if your just going to shoot ball ammo. You can adjust it though to just eject the casings right out next to you. Good luck they are fun to shoot. -

ARMS 18 Scope Mount for my M1A... Oh yeah!!

I've got the same setup Arms 18 with 22 rings I belive mine are the mediums. Its a solid set up I Have removed the scope several times and the zero has held so far. I had read awhile back that that there were some problems with the 22 rings breaking and Larue tactical was replacing them with their rings free of charge for some reason. I think swan and larue had some kinda problem with each other at the time. I've never had any problems with mine loosening up or holding a zero. -
Keaton beach is about all thats left of old Florida. I have family that live close to there and use to spend the summers down there. Steinhatchee (spelling off im sure) is the closest thing to a town. The resturant there is good and those waters are some of the best trout and red fish fishing anywhere in the state. Its still remote enough that not many tourist go there. Just remember that beach isnt like a Panama city beach when the tide goes out it goes way out..

Well my spear point and clip point came in today. Nice knives seem to be well made and extreamly sharp. The G-10 handles may need a little sandpaper treatment though. Anybody know what size torx this takes to remove to pocket clip to swap sides? Wow just checked the coldsteel website and they are all sold out that was fast.

Great book should be required reading.

I had the standard 24'' upper. It shot well when I could keep a scope on it. You cant skimp on rings or a scope for sure but it shot good had no issues when they updated the bolt handle. The old handle was small and weak causing extraction issues. When they sent me new bolt handle it worked perfectly but like you said its no barrett but fun to shoot anyway. I would still have it but i saw a M1A super match i just had to have. If you want to know anything else just ask.

Ya I couldnt pass on the thirty dollars either they are great knives, I've got two on the way. Been debating getting one of those machetes seven bucks is hard to beat to.

Cold steel has there Recon 1 on closeout two for 60 bucks and other goodies on sale also. The recon 1 is a decent knife for 30 bucks. Seconds and Closeouts

I agree with you there I quit buying them just for that reason, Now i try to find Emersons if i want that type of knife. Ernie Emerson worked for benchmade before he started his own company they are what benchmade use to be and then some.

WTF? at Knoxville Expo Center gunshow
TNrifleman replied to Dolomite_supafly's topic in General Chat
I just wanted to add that these security dorks should have been letting people take the ammo back to their cars if they wanted to, they have no right to confiscate it. You have the option to not come in, take it back to your car, or give up the ammo its your choice they dont have the authority to take anything from you unless you surrender it, same as dumping it in the trash. And KPD only works chilhowee park shows. -

Well I found a few rounds and tested it out and it seems to be shooting pretty good with the new spring and some grease. Thanks for all the help guys i'll test it out more when my ammo gets here. Thanks again.
-
Update Well I changed the recoil spring and the old one was about 1/4 inch shorter than the new one. hopfully that will help it but im out of ammo so i'll have to find more before i test it out.

Talkin about peacock bass i fished the panama canal back in 96 when deployed down there and we caught them all day and dodged shipping freighters in a jon boat. They put up a heck of fight but I'll take a snook any day of the week. Prefered set up is a falcon 7ft rod with a shimano curado d reel.

It appears to be all USGI except that someone has put a blue finish on it,the barrel and receiver are both inland and all the other parts look to be GI to. Oh ya and they cut the ears off the front sight when they blued it. Why you would do that makes no sense to me.

thanks for all the help i've got some stuff to try now. Thanks again

No guess i need to get the disassembly guide and totaly strip it down all the way.

No it was dry so i just oiled it a little i'll grease it and try some better mags thanks. I'm going to order a new recoil spring to just to be sure.

both were usgi one was a rough national postal meter and the other was a underwood i belive, it was like new i tried them in my friends rock ola and they worked fine so i dont think its the mags but your right it seems like a mag issue to me im stumped keep the ideas comming thanks. Could be two bad mags i guess.

If there's any carbine experts out there. I just got a inland m1 carbine its in good shape and everything seems to be in good working order but. It doesnt want to chamber about 90% of the time. It will strip the round out of the magazine and push it to far to the left or right and not go into the chamber. Then if you pull back on the bolt just a little it will straighten the round up and it will chamber and fire then extract and may or may not chamber the next round. I thought it had to be a magazine issue but i changed mags and it does the same thing. I got it shoot about 3 rounds in a row once. I also stripped it and cleaned it good including the gas piston with no luck. Any ideas would be appriciated. I thought about polishing the feed ramp but i cant imagine its a feed ramp problem since 43. I also changed ammo with no luck. Any ideas?
