Fox News Poll - Should the American Flag Be Banned In School
Falcon1 replied to a topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
See post #15, this thread. -
Not, unfortunately, a surprise. I suspect she took a few days to twist some arms and threaten her members. I didn't want to wait to 9:00am CDT to call Mr. Gordon's office, so I emailed him (for all of the good it will likely do).

Double post...not familiar with new system yet. Sorry. -
Fox News Poll - Should the American Flag Be Banned In School

IIRC, it was about a student who wore an American flag t-shirt to school on Cinco de Mayo. The school district made him take it off because it was potentially inflammatory to other students there. Zombie » Students punished for wearing American flags on Cinco de Mayo Unfortunately, it does not appear to be a new phenomenon--search "Student forced to remove American flag T-shirt." -

The new "Carry Prohibited Locations" forum
Falcon1 replied to Steelharp's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
It was put in there to put the bill ahead of the budget. Several state buildings were posted only with that sign, and intended to stay posted that way. If the "gun-buster sign" language had not been included in the bill, posting the state buildings with the older-language sign would have given the bill a fiscal note, which would have put it behind the budget (i.e., not even considered until after the budget had been passed with the funding to pay for the new signage in it). That would have allowed Mr. Naifeh and his minions to kill the bill with ease. So, the sponsors held their noses and put it in. The judge should have gone for the districting plan instead...OMO, YMMV.

Correct on no differentiation as of now. Did anyone notice, however, that Curry Todd this session was also sponsoring a law that would create a separate class of license for those who derive most of their income from beverage sales alone? I think the figure was ten or fifteen percent only from food. If that law passed/passes, I could see a re-visit in the future that might aim to strip the "fifteen-percenters" out of the legal carry locations. -
Valid points. Soviet forces were a critical factor in the defeat of Nazi Germany, including having a role in our success at Normandy (still, Hitler's sleeping pills and Jodl's stubbornness may have as much a role too). As for Truman, at least he was the head of the U.S. Senate Special Committee to Investigate the National Defense Program, credited with saving $15 billion and thousands of lives. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Truman_Committee#Truman_Committee (I know, never use Wikipedia as a source. ) Yes, its a stretch...but it's still more justification for Truman being there than Stalin. Are Roosevelt, Truman, and Churchill at the Kursk Memoral? Kursk Photo 9 And since Stalin probably isn't at the Kursk Memorial anymore either, I submit he certainly shouldn't be at Bedford, Virginia.

I tend to look at it as a "constitutional governance" issue. If they truly support the U.S. Constitution and the Tennessee Constitution, then they will perforce support the Second Amendment as well. OMO-YMMV.

My email just sent to them at their "Contact Us" URL (The National D-Day Memorial Foundation)

WSMV- Gov. Candidates Sound Off On 2nd Amendment
Falcon1 replied to Volzfan's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
That is what I understood him (McWherter) to say as well. -
An excellent common-sense idea...which means, of course, that it will never happen. "Those who like sausage and respect the law shouldn't watch either one being made."

I've met Lt. Gov. Ramsey in several different venues (Tea Party, TFA). I trust him. I don't trust the others. OMO--YMMV. -
Who is gonna get your vote for govenor?
Falcon1 replied to 94user's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
I will vote for Ron Ramsey in the primary. My general election vote will depend on who has the Republican nomination. -
I somehow can't help but wonder if this is some form of asset-protection maneuver. So much has come out about how much the global-warming thing has been covered up, exaggerated, etc., that Mr. Gore may feel he is under threat of potential litigation from some quarters. I don't know the state of the law, but if they obtain a divorce before legal action were filed against him (and Tipper gets virtually everything by mutual agreement), would that protect most of their assets for the children? Just asking...and it will be interesting to see how their assets are divided. As for "It's Bush's fault": priceless, but I was actually waiting for someone in the media to say it.

I carry IWB most of the time in any weather. The cover garment changes, not the mode of carry. I will ankle carry in certain situations, but weather is not the deciding factor.

I renewed at the DMV on 25 November 2009. I called today just to check; I was expecting to be told it was still in the works. Instead, I was told it had already been mailed and should be arriving soon. Lo and behold, it was in the mail this afternoon.

Staying at home with the family as well. Wishing for a safe and prosperous new year for all on this forum and for our nation!

Hope you were asking in seriousness--if not, I apologize. In the message box, there is an A with a solid bar over it next to sizes that lets you select your font color.

If you want one as a curio or shadow box, go for it I guess. I would never, however, carry one. Most LEOs will probably think they are silly at best, impersonating an officer at worst. Leave it on the wall.
