Do be careful if you are an employee of the school system.  Lt. Gov. Ramsey's comments to the contrary, your employment can still be terminated if you have a firearm in your vehicle IF your school board's policy prohibits the possession of firearms.  They just can't have you taken away in handcuffs afterward.  The law provides no protection for your job in this "at-will" employment state.

The good news--the turn-around time, once you do submit the renewal, is only about three weeks...at least it was for me at my last renewal (February).  I suppose it could vary from month to month....

This is especially true if one is shooting "hotter" ammos. The PPK in .380 Auto was originally specified for a 95-grain bullet at 955 fps. The farther away from that, the worse it gets. Having large hands doesn't help, either.

To me, the fact that he can quote this:

I just love how people like Mr. Cohen (the author of the Time article) believe that the term "the people" means individuals in all of the Bill of Rights except in the Second Amendment, when it must (in his minuscule mind) refer to states. Sophistry at its finest! I can imagine the conniption he would throw if we applied his perverse understanding of the term "the people" to the First Amendment....

I voted "Didn't know I could change it." Now that I know, I think they are all good, but I'll probably stick with the subdued style, even though I only surf at home. I like the state flag.

Here comes some of the disagreement. I'm a public-school teacher, and in my view, you are not fine legally. The exception is specifically for dropping off and picking up passengers, not for parking your car there for seven-plus hours as an employee. Personally, I think you are on legal quicksand if you do so. OMO, YMMV....

Gordon (like Bredesen) expects to get an appointment in the Obama administration, unless I miss my guess.
