  1. Of course, some of them may go ahead and enact ordinances anyway, only to have them struck down at taxpayer expense in the state courts, like seven cities in Pennsylvania (although I suppose a state court might have a different opinion than the Attorney General). I hope the voters remember who cost the taxpayers a lot of needless expense come election time.
  2. Voted "Yes." Current results: Would you go to a restaurant or bar that allows guns? <table width="100%" border="0" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0"><tbody><tr><td>Yes <table style="margin-bottom: 3px;" width="100%" border="0" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0"><tbody><tr><td width="41%"> </td><td style="padding-left: 10px; padding-bottom: 5px;">41%</td></tr></tbody></table></td></tr><tr><td>No <table style="margin-bottom: 3px;" width="100%" border="0" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0"><tbody><tr><td width="59%"> </td><td style="padding-left: 10px; padding-bottom: 5px;">59%</td></tr></tbody></table></td></tr></tbody></table> Total Votes: 1279

    I Love the UK

No one in the UK has a grinder?
  4. I just looked at their website, and couldn't find anything on the signs they say they are providing. I'll look a little deeper. ETA: I didn't find anything...perhaps if I registered, I would see more.
  5. I would send it back to Colt for a factory reblue job. It will be worth it. I have always wanted a Diamondback in .38 Special--had one get away from me (I went in at noon, someone put it on layaway at 11 am ). With a reblue job from Colt, your friend can probably get as much as he has the guts to ask. Check here too: ColtForum: Home
  6. Yes, I did so on Defensive Carry Forum and on Open Carry Forum: Please Look! Tennessee Travel and Restaurant Carry - DefensiveCarry Concealed Carry Forum I quoted JayC's post #48 (giving him credit by providing a link to his post). I also provided links to the final version of HB0962, the Nashville Convention and Visitors Bureau email, and Tennessee Tourism email.

  8. Voted NO (but I could have also voted Yes--to be certain they didn't get my business--but that wasn't the spirit of the poll). Current results: Yes 42% 244 votes No 57% 324 votes 568 total votes
  9. Actually, from what I have seen, they may have something. The state regulates liquor and wine, but the counties regulate beer. Metro Nashville is threatening to revoke the beer license of those restaurants who do not properly post. How this would all shake out with state preemption I do not know. Best bet is for all of us to call our local government representatives if they try this sort of stuff.
  10. Voted Allows. Current results: Allows Handguns 59% (130 votes) Bans Handguns 35% (76 votes) Doesn't Matter 6% (13 votes) Total votes: 219 For some reason, my vote was recorded.
  11. Eventually, it will be posted here. It took until this morning for the House vote to be posted: Bill Votes
  12. Uhh...she is not present because she is at home mourning the death of her great-grandchild. Senator Jackson did a great job...I wonder how much of his speech will make it into the papers.
  13. Passed! Senator Jackson says effective date is forty days from today. 14 July 2009.
  14. Unfortunately no...the House and Senate versions were amended. The only thing that is left is for current and retired LEOs to enter such restaurants that serve alcohol for on-site consumption.
  15. As a privileged motion, I don't think it appears on any calendar. Wow, here we go on the session...only fifteen minutes late.
  16. Maybe they turn the lights on and off like in a play? Or maybe waiting for the school bell to ring?
  17. Yes, evidently when banks expanded their hours, the Tennessee Senate took them over. "We'll convene at 10am...sorta."
  18. So far, I'm not seeing the Senate is session yet. ETA: Just came up the second after I posted.
  19. Very true, but they are respected by the state government until contradicted in a court or overridden by legislative action. After all, an AG opinion is what we rely on in Tennessee for the legality of open carry.
  20. A valid question, and the answer may well be different in this case than in the one dealt with in the AG Opinion, but this is what the footnote said:
