WOW! If this pans out there's a lesson to be learned.

Looks like the big O has weighed in on the burning now. We've got about a day and a half before the event. Anybody want to lay odds on some sort of "situation" that causes the government to take action and prevent the pastor from carrying out his plans? The whole thing is a bonehead move on the pastor's part. But come on people, it's paper with ink smeared on it. It's printed the same way every other book is printed. It doesn't come out of the bindery with a magical glowing aura around it.
  3. Doubt if there's much stomach for anything on this on the hill, but with these clowns who knows. Lame duck session is coming up.
  4. I've had super accurate loads with IMR4198, 50 gr. out of a 14" Contender. It would be a pain when using a progressive.
  5. Have been working up some .223 loads with H4895 and BLC2 in a bolt gun. I've loaded some AR ammo with BLC2 and it has worked fine and gave good accuracy. Meters good through the powder measure. Have loaded the H4895 with 30 gr. thru 55 gr bullets. Been thinking about trying some Reloader 7
  6. Sometimes they offer upwards of $100 or more and will take anything. Sometimes even BB guns. I'm always watching for crap guns I can pick up for 25 bucks or so, working or not, figuring I'll cash them in while laughing all the way to the bank.
  7. My current crapo is a Glock M19. Thought I'd see what all the excitement was with glocks so I bought this one. It's the first one I've owned, though not the first plastic framed gun I've owned. So far it hasn't made it through a mag yet without at least one failure to extract, or stovepipe. And it just feels like it was made by mattel, I think it's the springie, snappie sound it makes when the trigger is pulled. I distinctly remember having a Secret Sam pistol when I was about 10 years old that made the same sound.
  8. These babies are worth something! Eventually there will be a gun buyback program close to you. these are the perfect candidates. If you're lucky they will be offering cash. Had one in Jackson a while back, don't think they were offering cash though.
  9. Not very close, but they just opened one up on Lebanon and do rent guns. $20/day for range time, not sure on the rental costs. Called The Gun Room, I think.
  10. If it's the Hornady swaged bullets and you're pushing them at 1100, I'd say get ready to do some lead cleanout. Those and the Speer swaged always leaded my bbl. pretty badly. Hard cast were ok. They used to say bullseye would detonate in .38 spl. cases when loaded with the standard target load of 2.5 grains behind a wadcutter. The story goes that the powder would settle along the side of the case (when held in firing position) and the primer would blow over the power causing it to detonate rather than just burn. There was also some notion that maybe the case got a double shot of powder causing an over pressure condition. I only use bullseye in 9mm, Unique for all my other lead bullet loads.
  11. “Dees one looks a leetle scrawny…vee vill vait for zee next one.”
  12. Ok, I'll change the photo to the way it originally appeared on the Drudge Report. Maybe it was a little overboard, or maybe I have a warped sense of humor. It's just the expression Putin has on his face....
  13. Here's a target I created a couple of months ago to help me get a scope sighted in. It's worked out pretty well. I used the smaller diamonds for 25 yard work, then the larger is good for moving on out to 100. If you're careful and place your target level the scope cross hairs mate up with the target and help make consistent shots. http://renttoownanswers.com/11x17_target.pdf
  14. Ok, so I doctored the photo just a little. It begs for a great one liner.
  15. If you're in for a little competition there's a charity match scheduled for Sat. morning at the Lebanon indoor range. They've pitted Lebanon's finest against any civilian. 25 rnds, 25 yards best target gets a one year membership to the range. Any pistol is fine, you can even bring your sandbags. $30 entry fee day of match (was $20 for early sign up) proceeds go to Sherry's Run cancer charity. They are kicking off early (8-9 am) with a shoot off at 11:30 am between the best three officers and best three civilians. Bring it on LPD!!! We're gonna do some smack down!!

  17. If you were in England this thread title would give the discussion a whole new meaning.
  18. Yes, and when speaking of melons it should always be "two"
  19. I've got some of the golden tiger and it shoot pretty good and is non corrosive. For my money that's better than the yugo which is corrosive. I'm bad about shootin' a few rounds and not wanting to go through the cleaning hassle. Actually @ $180/K it's as cheap as I paid for some just before the big O was voted into office back in 08! Not sure how the shipping would be to TN
  20. WARNING, WARNING DANGER DANGER Will Robinson, melons are on the rampage!! Quick get your 9mm Actually I prefer 9mm and carry a Keltec often. Don't even own a .40 though have shot them. It's been around for over 100 years and is plenty big for serious work.
  21. I bought one off craigslist about a year ago. 8000Kw with a propane conversion, had less than an hour on it. Supposed to run NG also if used without the regulator. Its a gasoline model but has never had any gas in it. You'll get less output from LP and even less from NG compared to gasoline. I ran it about an hour last summer switching various things off and on in the house to see how it performed. Everything worked fine except my microwave made a different sound when running on the gen. Not sure what that was all about, it still seemed to work ok. Also discovered that your regular old home NG gas meter won't run anything but a small gen, and you have to have a pretty big pipe coming off of it. I originally wanted a diesel also, but figured it would be easier to keep some LP tanks full than having diesel in storage. And the diesel units I found were pricey.
  22. Back to Slim.... He is one of my all-time favorite character actors. The toll booth and 1941 clips are among my favorites of his. As a side note I got to meet him and shake his hand some 30 years ago. It was in Atlanta at the SHOT show. I was working a booth for a gun distributor, and he was the spokesman for Weaver scopes at the time. He was a big guy, and his hand felt huge. He seemed a genuinely nice fellow.
  23. no pix, but I did count 6 in my side field this week. All were good size bucks, larger than I normally expect, two eight pointers, the others had good size racks but couldn't count them. About that time the dogs noticed them and off they went.
  24. a deal isn't a deal until it's done, post it here and get your 500 plus some.
  25. 220 yds. on steel chicken silhouettes with 7mm TCU, contender, 10 & 14" bbl. with iron sights. Tannerite 1/2 lb. bottle at 100 yd w .223 contender, 6x scope pigeon, 75ft. in top of a tree with .44 Remington brass frame cap & ball revolver off 8th Ave. in downtown Nashville, man I was proud of that shot- best shot I've ever made.
