  1. These are my rules, and carry no weight at all, but fun to express just the same! 1. People who are alcoholics or drug addicts should not own guns. 2. People who have uncontrollable emotions should not own guns. 3. People who abuse their spouse or children should not own guns. 4. People who can't understand how to disassemble, clean and oil, and reassemble guns should not own guns. 5. People who are guilty of violent felonies should not own guns. 6. People who intentionally live off welfare when they could be working should not own guns. 7. People who won't do their bit to uphold the continuing validity of the 2nd amendment should not own guns. 8. People who can't remember the four rules of gun safety should not own guns. 9. People who leave their guns lying around for curious children to experiment with should not own guns. 10. People who want to play "mall ninja" should not own guns. 11. People who are truly mentally ill, and probably going to be destructive to themselves or others should not own guns. 12. People who are just plain stupid should not own guns. I am not a "gun grabber." Far from it! But there definitely are people who should not own guns. Just my opinion.
  2. This is a paragraph from "Civil Disobedience" by Thoreau... If everyone just did what was right, without worrying about what is legal, this world would be a different and better place. Incidentally, the whole book: "Civil Disobedience" by Thoreau, is available freely all over the internet. Just Google search. It's must reading.
  3. Just my opinion: It doesn't matter where you buy it, if the gun is right there in front of you, and you can buy it and take it with you. On the other hand, if the dealer must ORDER the gun, buy from a dealer you trust. Sometimes people say they can get whatever gun you want, and then you end up dangling for a month or two waiting for the gun to appear. Also, KT warranty is good. No matter whom you buy from, if you have a problem, you can FEDEX it to Kel-Tec, and their service is famous for being as good or better than anyone's. Your KT P-11 probably will be good to go from the box. But I always do a "fluff and buff" on all my new guns. Field strip it and clean and oil it real good before shooting it the first time. If the feed ramp on the barrel looks rough or dirty polish it with some 600 grit sandpaper. If you find any burrs on the slide rails, polish off the burrs. Oil the slide. You only get one magazine with the P-11. Extra magazines are not expensive. Fill and unfill your mag a few times before going shooting. Get a snap cap and feed it into your P-11 from the magazine, and dry fire the trigger a lot to get used to it. Don't dry fire without a snap cap, as this can damage the P-11. Warning: the P-11 trigger takes a strong pull, maybe 8 pounds. Don't be put off by that. The P-11 is not a range gun. It is not super accurate at over 7 yards. But it is great for what it is: an up close personal self-defense firearm. The strong trigger is actually a welcome safety device for there is no other safety on the P-11. You may need to experiment with a variety of ammo to see if there is a brand that your pistol doesn't like. Instead of buying 500 rounds of Blazer, get 50 rounds of UMC, 50 of Winchester ValuPak, and 50 of S&B, or whatever, and try them all out. Use FMJ until you are sure that some brand feeds reliably with your P-11. Then start experiment with varieties of hollow point ammo. If you get a non-reliable P-11, don't feel bad. That can happen with any make of gun. Send it back to Kel-Tec and they will work on it. I had a problem with my P3at, and sent it back, and it has been 100% for nearly 3 years, now. The Kel Tec Owners Group Forum is a great place to go with your problems and questions. The link is: http://www.ktog.org/vbulletin/ and there is another set of forums called the KTRange which is good: http://www.ktrange.org/phpbb2 You can check out my review, too: http://www.mouseguns.com/ideal.htm Good luck.
  4. The KT P-11 sells around here for about $269.00, depending on the finish. You can get it blued, parkerized, or hard chromed. Here's a guy who has several listed on his website. Check out the list of new guns: http://www.silversfirearms.com
  5. Skye got off to a bad start with their management doing impersonations. Also, I think it is pretty much an imitation Kel-Tec P11. Some say they like them, but they get some pretty mixed reviews. Still, you never know for sure until you try. Personally, I'd spend just a few more bucks on a KTP11, which has been around for a decade, and is a good 9mm gun for the money. Here's a picture of mine, which I like very much:
  6. I've sent emails to my reps in Nashville, too. Everyone should.
  7. Congrats on the SUB-2000. They are not that easy to find. I'm scheduled to pick up a Beretta grip SUB-2000 this weekend.
  8. There is no database of firearm serial numbers on the internet for a reverse look up. I'm not even sure the cops or FBI can find a complete database in their computers. If someone wanted to call in your number to the cops as a stolen weapon to get you in trouble they would very soon find themselves in trouble instead. That's not to say some moron with ill will won't try it! I don't think any harm can come from a photo with your serial number at this time. The danger would lie in the possibility that some government agency (BATFE) might start searching the internet for guns on a banned list, find out who the owner is, with a serial number, and begin forced registrations or eventual confiscations. That would take a lot of paid searchers, and cost a lot of money. Still, it might happen someday. If it looks as if that day is just around the corner, it will then be time to simply pull the plug on all these wonderful firearm forums, and we will all have to go "grey."
  9. Nice guns! Looks like Christmas came twice at your house!
  10. No, the road to the range will not be affected, unless the weather is abnormally bad. You never know. I have never had a problem, but there's always a chance you will get there in sort of bad weather to find the road closed.

    I want one!

Well, it's very nice, but you would never shoot it!
  13. Congrats on the new gun!
  14. I have updated the Prentice Cooper rifle range info: http://www.mouseguns.com/prentice/prentice.htm There are closed dates in April of 2008.
  15. I had a PT145 Mil Pro, but it was waaaaayyyyy too big to pocket carry. My Kel-Tec PF9 fits fine: http://www.mouseguns.com/pf9rev/pf9rev.htm
  16. Well, the one I was looking at in Chattanooga has flown away!
  17. The AMD65 also has a side folding wire stock, which makes it more light weight. It comes with two pistol grips, rear and front. A picture is worth a 1000 words (not as spectacular as Wareagles!)...
  18. That's a beautiful amd65, and a very nice photo! I have saved it to my hard drive to drool over later.

    Hand Gun Permit

My permit came in one month. HEre's my story about getting a permit in Chattanooga: http://www.mouseguns.com/permit/permit.htm
  20. I could swallow $500, but not $650!
  21. It's a side folder. Any body have experience with one? Shoot well? What 's a fair price? Thanks.
  22. I am reminded of when the British were fighting the Zulus in Colonial Africa long ago. The African "riflemen" often missed their targets because they insisted on setting the rear sight at the highest number, thinking that would increase the potency of their ammo.
  23. The 1911 is an amazing pistol. Thanks for the link. Here's my 1911: http://www.mouseguns.com/kimrev/kimrev.htm
  24. As someone pointed out, this is a "youth vs age" sort of thing. Would you rather live wild and die at 45, or make it to 65 with lots of pains, or live restrained comfortably until you are 85? Your viewpoint about this will change as you get older. Most of us choose the middle path, and get more careful after we hit 65.
  25. I feel like Charlie Brown getting the rundown from Lucy...Panophobia...That's it! Actually I'm quite a happy go lucky sort of guy, but have been seriously hurt a few times, and discovered that I hate severe pain more than I dislike being careful.
