    Kel-Tec .40?

The P40 is just barely a different frame from the P11. Just slightly beefier, and P40 is stamped on the frame. That's the one that will handle the 357 SIG. Mine shot the 357 better than the 40. It was snappy handful with either caliber! Heres a photo of my old P40. The 357 SIG barrel was parkerized black.
  4. You can get 10 round magazines for your rifle. I don't know how well they work. http://www.bosesguns.com/product_p/eag3080sh.htm

    Kel-Tec .40?

I once had a P40 that I picked up for about $200 at Valu Pawn in Hixson. It was in good shape. I got the 357 SIG barrel for it, too. I liked the gun, but it was hard to shoot well, so I eventually sold it. It is the sort of gun that takes a lot of getting used to, but I believe it is a fine firearm. Limp wristing and accuracy are problematic. They are in demand, so if you get one at a low price, you can probably eventually turn around and sell it for more than you paid for it, if you decide you don't like it.
  6. I like all of the above, and Shotgun News (mostly about milsurp stuff)
  7. The HGR Firearms Instruction website is very nicely done, and you offer great classes. I wish you were located in Chattanooga. I've put a link to you on one of my web pages: http://www.mouseguns.com/links.htm
  8. You really need one of each. Everybody needs a good .22 rifle. It is inexpensive, the ammo is inexpensive (though going up, like all the other calibers), and it can be effective for both varmint hunting or home defense. The semi-auto Ruger 10/22 is neat because of all the add-ons. You can make it into a mini-AK if you want to. The semi-auto SKS is of course much more powerful than a .22. You can get a Yugo now, fresh from being refurbished, for under $250. It has a ten round mag, and shoots a round 7.62x39 round roughly equivalent to the 30/30. Get either one now, and when you have the money get the other one. I have an old semi-auto Savage 22 I bought around 1984...
  9. I bet you already have another 9mm pistol, so get the ammo. It just keeps going up in price.
  10. A full stock of Hi-Point handguns and carbines... 1/2 dozen SKS 1/2 dozen Mosins 1/2 dozen K31 1/2 dozen WASR10 a few AK74s several sw9ve and sw40ve 1/2 dozen different GLOCKS 1/2 dozen j frame wheel guns Taurus and SA 1911 models several Taurus 24/7s several Ruger 9mm pistols A full range of Kel-Tec pistols and carbines I think these will all sell as quick as anything would.
  11. If you want something strictly military surplus in an AK, definitely do NOT get a WASR10, which was made for the American market. What you want is a "preban" AK47. They are a bit pricey, but they are authentic. Here is a link on Gunbroker to illustrate a pre-ban AK47.... http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.asp?Item=85572944 Of course, it will still be modified to be semi-automatic.
  12. I polished up my SKS. It was "cosmoline finished," and I wanted it a bit slicker. Here's a picture: http://www.mouseguns.com/polsks.jpg
  13. It's a good deal.
  14. The AK is not exactly a military surplus firearm, since it is STILL the most widely used battle rifle in the world today. You may be able to buy a full auto AK in the states, but it will be expensive, and you will have to pay a $200 tax. The semi-auto AKs available are all genuine AKs, just not full auto. The least expensive is a Romanian WASR10 with the mag hole reamed out larger to take an ordinary 30 rnd AK mag. These are selling now for about $400 in gun stores. The WASR10 is rough looking, but people say it works fine. Cautions are to look out for a tilted gas valve or sight. The MAK90 has a thumbhole stock, but it is a better made firearm, and an excellent AK. Most AK folk don't like the thumbhole stock, but I don't think that matters a bit. You may also like the Hungarian AMD65, with a side folding tubular metal stock, but which may run up to $600. Bulgarian Arsenal brand AKs may cost even more. Prices for all AKs are steadily rising as gun buyers anticipate another "assault weapon" ban, including AKs, even though the semi-auto AKs are not true assault weapons.
  15. Never had any trouble carrying CONCEALED. I wouldn't walk in with a holster on my hip in plain sight. Technically it's legal in TN, but..... As for trying out holsters for fit, etc. I would agree with DGS that you had better show it is unloaded. I wouldn't try holsters with a loaded gun. As far as showing your handgun, the rule is you should not BRANDISH your weapon. That's not the same as taking it out at the dest to unload it. To BRANDISH is to act like you might use it.

    AK Choice

I would vote for the SAR also. The WASR10 was originally designed for a single stack 10 round magazine, and later modified to accept a normal AK magazine by opening up the magazine hole in the bottom, and installed metal shims inside the mag well to make the 30 rnd magazines fit tight enough (the original WASR10 has no mag well dimples on the receiver). WASR10s are also pretty rough looking. Still, people who have them say they shoot well.
  18. All I know about is the Chattanooga Times Free press ad. Maybe the price is good elsewhere, too.
  19. Dick's Sporting Goods in Chattanooga is selling Remington 9mm fmj ammo at $6.98 per box of 50 November 18-21, if you buy ten boxes. This may be our last chance for cheap 9mm ammo.
  20. Varmint is correct about the daylight burglar. The point of the Bible verse is: If I can SEE the burglar, and see that he is either unarmed, or retreating, then I'm not allowed to use deadly force against him. But if he comes in the night, in the dark, and I can't see that he is unarmed, and I can't see if he is coming at me with the intent of violence, he might be; THEN I am allowed to used deadly force. I believe the old Bible law is identical to modern law in the states that have the "castle doctrine."
  21. I had a Bobcat once. The barrel kept tipping open unexpectedly. I traded for a KT P11, if memory serves. Have fun!
  22. Buy Hi-Point pistols, and you won't worry about scratches.
  23. Goooooo MOSIN!!:) It's definitely been around a long time, and will probably be around 50 years from now. They are indestructible, fun to shoot, fun to collect, and the ammo is cheap. Kicks like a 30/06. If you get a good one (luck of the draw) it can be quite accurate.
  24. PF9 in backpocket? I'm trying it right now....nope, it sticks out a bit. And it hurts when I sit on it!
  25. I will keep my eyes open for the estate sales, too.
