I was called up for jury duty twice. In the pool. Both times I just told the truth to the questions the lawyers asked and got booted real quick. I would like to serve on a jury, but the lawyers are really picky.

I have a Kimber, too, and I think you got a good deal. There are some Kimber models that sell for upwards of $1000, and so do some other 1911 models. The 1911 takes a little getting used to for disassembly and reassembly. Not like a GLOCK! Here's a picture of my Kimber...

The faults of the USA people and government are many. However, this is still the best place on earth, with the best government, and the nicest people. People here are always ready to jump in and help those who are in trouble. Especially people in the South. I'm not PROUD to be an American. PROUD or pride, is a dangerous word. The Bible reminds us that "pride goes before a fall." I would rather say I APPRECIATE the USA, and I'm grateful that God let me be born here instead of somewhere else. I'm also COMMITTED to making the USA a better place, in my own little way. In a way, too, I'm still a bit riled at those Yankees and their war of aggression. They really messed up the country. I like to say I'm a US citizen by birth, and Southern by the grace of God. What I appreciate most about the USA is our Bill of Rights. I hope we can hang on to them in the next decade.

Typical government hourly wage employee. They just put in their time, and go by the rules. No exceptions. No feelings. No concern. Robots. Their not all like that, but it's typical.

In Revelation 19 11 ¶ I saw heaven standing open and there before me was a white horse, whose rider is called Faithful and True. With justice he judges and makes war. 12 His eyes are like blazing fire, and on his head are many crowns. He has a name written on him that no-one knows but he himself. 13 He is dressed in a robe dipped in blood, and his name is the Word of God. 14 The armies of heaven were following him, riding on white horses and dressed in fine linen, white and clean. 15 Out of his mouth comes a sharp sword with which to strike down the nations. "He will rule them with an iron sceptre." He treads the winepress of the fury of the wrath of God Almighty. 16 On his robe and on his thigh he has this name written: KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS. 17 And I saw an angel standing in the sun, who cried in a loud voice to all the birds flying in mid-air, "Come, gather together for the great supper of God, 18 so that you may eat the flesh of kings, generals, and mighty men, of horses and their riders, and the flesh of all people, free and slave, small and great." 19 Then I saw the beast and the kings of the earth and their armies gathered together to make war against the rider on the horse and his army. 20 But the beast was captured, and with him the false prophet who had performed the miraculous signs on his behalf. With these signs he had deluded those who had received the mark of the beast and worshipped his image. The two of them were thrown alive into the fiery lake of burning sulphur. 21 The rest of them were killed with the sword that came out of the mouth of the rider on the horse, and all the birds gorged themselves on their flesh.

Tin foil hat a little too tight?

I wonder which list I'm on: red, blue or yellow? -
Kel-Tec customer service is good. They will make it right!

Thanks for your comments. I have thought about some of them, and made some additions and changes, to improve the article. Mostly about how we civilian gun carriers differ from LEOs in our response and responsibility.

You have gotten hold of an excellent firearm! I call it the "poor man's mini-ak47." Half the weight of an AK. Able to accept 20 and 30 round mags. Folds up to 16.5 inches in length. Ideal for urban warfare (if such ever comes to pass). Good for all round plinking, and cheap 9mm ammo! I have one with a Beretta grip: http://www.mouseguns.com/sub2000/sub2000.htm Enjoy!

I carry a KT PF9 in my pocket everyday without difficulty. The Kahr PM9 is a little smaller than the PF9, so you should have no problem with it. Here are some photos of how my pocket looks with the PF9. You will note in the third photo that my pants are beginning to sag a little from the weight of the pistol. This is the only annoyance that I have noticed. Maybe if I tightened up my belt this problem would go away!

Closer is always better, if you can retain the element of surprise. And that is one of the great things about a concealed weapon, and why I don't favor open carry. The element of surprise is worth an awful lot in a sticky situation.

I tried my hand at writing an essay about how to select and use a mousegun. http://www.mouseguns.com/tactics/seltac.htm Corrections and suggestions are welcome. I make no claim to be an authority.

The Sigma is about the best firearm you can get FOR THE PRICE. Earlier this year, new Sigmas were selling for under $300, with 2 mags, plus you got a $50 rebate and two more free mags in the mail. Thats $250 for a nice firearm with 4 mags. You can't beat that with a stick! Sigmas have proved to be fairly reliable and long-lasting, too (the third generation new ones). However, the $500 GLOCK will generally be 100% reliable (even better than a Sigma), and it will have a much nicer trigger. It will also shoot more accurately. So, if you only have $300, get a Sigma. If you have $500, get a GLOCK. Either way, you have a good gun. Here is a neat Sigma photo gallery: http://www.mouseguns.com/mysw9ve/sw9ve.html

Did this monstrosity shoot three cartridges simultaneously?

Hey, that really looks good, and the MAK90 is an excellent AK. Congrats! Now go buy a couple thousand rounds of ammo!!!
-
J&G still has them in the $400 range in Shotgun News. Of course you will have to pay for shipping and the FFL fee.
-
Marswolf is right. The p3at trigger takes a long deliberate pull. The gun won't go off accidentally, or with a light tug on the trigger, as with a GLOCK. The caution about keeping everything else out of your pocket with your p3at is also wise.

If you are retired and 67 years old, and certified to carry as a security guard, are there part-time jobs out there in jobville?

You wrote: "Has anyone ever heard of anyone who did not follow 922r and gotten in dutch over it?" Nope. "How would the BATFE even know how many parts you changed out?" Lot's of guys post this stuff on forums like this one. That's not a good idea. Also, some 922r reg transgressions are visible on the face of things: a new stock, a large mag, etc. etc. They don't have to prove you haven't met the 922 regs. YOU have to prove that you HAVE met the 922 regs. As you imply, it has not been a problem up to now, but it could be someday. Your compliance with 922r is a personal decision about which you must choose wisely, and be discreet.

I just ordered 1000 rounds of 7.62x39 from AIM. It's the Wolf Military Classic HP ammo. Including shipping it was just shy of $200, which comes to 20 cents per round; $4 per box of 20. That's not cheap, but it's about as good as you can do these days. It's more like $5.50 per box around Chattanooga. I figure a year from now it will be $250 per 1000, if not more.
-
As I expected, it is 100% reliable. It's also accurate. I had no trouble using it to cut down a 6" tree at 20 yards. Note: if in a fire fight against a rifle, get behind thicker trees if possible. 12" minimum!

1911s are nice looking, and they are very accurate. Nice gun you have there!

I already have a Kel-Tec p3at and pf9. When and if I get another pocket pistol I will try to scrape up enough cash for a Kahr pm9. They run around $600. I would really like a Rohrbaugh 9mm, too, but over a $1000 is out of my financial league. Especially since the pf9 fits in my pocket, and sells for under $300. http://www.mouseguns.com/pocksize.htm

AKs of all sorts are selling fast. People want them, and they are not easy to find in all parts of the nation. I think some are buying for the sake of a quick profit a few more months down the road. You've heard of the "housing bubble?" This is the "AK bubble."
