Yes, I got the $450 MAK. It really is like new. Came with 3 five-round mags, and 2 30-round mags. Also the normal accessories for a MAK-90; as well as 100 rounds of ammo. Some people who bought AKs years ago think that $450 is high. But I have news for everyone: it's not high anymore. Prices have gone up. The "dog collars" on the sling have dried up and deteriorated. I think I will replace them with a couple of metal chain links. I could get new dog collars, but I don't trust the leather to last. Incidentally, the Chattanooga gun classifieds are posted daily on my web site: http://www.mouseguns.com/class/classads.htm

I got this almost unfired MAK-90 from the classified ads in Chattanooga on Easter Sunday afternoon... http://www.mouseguns.com/mak90gal/mk90.html Read those want ads!

I see one has popped up for sale in the Chattanooga area, and is in the Times Free Press classifieds this morning. The seller's number is 423-488-9283. If I hadn't just spent my last dollar on a MAK-90 I would definitely call this guy up and buy his 9mm carbine. He is asking $180. They come with a lifetime warranty, and Hi-Point is famous for standing behind their warranty. On another note, Hi-Point is just about ready to come out this Summer with a mighty interesting looking new carbine/new stock design in .45 caliber. I predict it will be a huge best-seller. Here's a link to see the new .45 carbine.... http://hipointfirearmsforums.com/Forum/viewtopic.php?t=4932

I think they are great little, light weight rifles, but a bit on the pricey side. I haven't shot one, though. The fold up feature is nice.

The HiPoint carbines are said to be good reliable and inexpensive carbines, with an excellent warranty. Their only drawback is the 10 round single stack mag. 15 rounders by promag are said to be faulty.

I like it very much. A .50 GLOCK. Wow!

Curious.... public library?

Probably not. Interesting question. -
You betcha! I love my Sub-2000. It's like a mini-AK! I did a lot of research, and made a web page about it, too... http://www.mouseguns.com/sub2000/sub2000.htm I don't actually carry it in the pulpit on Sunday mornings. Usually just have my p3at in my pocket. One of our elders sits in the back with his GLOCK 19. If a nut came in and tried to shoot us up, hopefully one of us will be able to make him stop. It will probably never happen. I don't expect it to. No harm in being prepared, just in case. If I EXPECTED trouble, I'd have more than a p3at!

Odds are one in a million that anything bad will happen. But there's no harm in being prepared. What did Jesus say as He sent the disciples out on missionary work? (Luke 22:36)

Thanks for the link. Very informative! My PT145 Mil Pro was of the second generation, and it had a built-in rail, and a double action only trigger, which was actually quite nice.

I would call Kel-Tec, because what you need is just a new barrel, and you can probably get one pretty quick from KT. This is not really a "service" problem, so I'm guessing it won't take so long. Tell them your problem NICELY and ask if you can just send them the barrel (shipping will be cheap). And then they can mail you a new barrel, and you will be good to go. Good luck!

I once had a PT145 Mil Pro, and liked it very much. It was well-made, and had a very nice double action only trigger. It would occasionally stumble over low-powered Winchester ValuPak ammo, but was 100% with stronger self-defense ammo. I wrote a review with photos: http://www.mouseguns.com/ratguns/pt145/pt145.htm

I think you are supposed to walk around WalMart eating corn chips, or cheetos, trying to be inconspicuous. Good luck!

Some people wear those on chains around their necks. It's a nice ccw technique. It's a good backup gun, if you get disarmed.

I picked up a new Ruger 22/45 Mk III today at Sportsman's Warehouse. The price was $259.00. I think I will enjoy this pistol; also it will give my wife something to shoot that won't scare her off shooting.

If I had a charger, I would get rid of the bipod, then I would chop off the protruding wood thingy, and make it look decent. Then I'd...I'd...I don't know. What do you do with it????

I'm fresh back from Munich, Germany, visiting my daughter and grand-children (and must include the son-in-law in there, too!) I send messages to our church missionaries about this and that, and made a web page about my Munich trip, in case any of you might be interested to see some photos... http://www.waysidechurch.org/munich/munich.htm Munich is definitely a great vacation city! We lucked out on the weather, almost 60 degrees and sunny in February a few days.

This is an alert for anyone buying a PF-9. It is a great gun, but you need to know up front that there is a trick to re-assembling the gun. The trick is: when re-installing the slide, you need to simultaneously depress the barrel hood into the slide, while sliding it back on. It's a bit tricky, and it won't go in any other way. More details at: http://www.mouseguns.com/pf9rev/pf9rev.htm Just remember that trick, and you will avoid that "depressed feeling!"

The PF-9, in my opinion, actually IS a pocket gun, to disagree with one of the posts above. I carry one in my khaki pants pocket Mon-Sat, and the p3at on Sundays with suit pants. (Thanks for the nice words about my reviews!) The PF-9 is not the smallest 9mm pistol, but it is (these figures change often) quite flat and light. KT advertises it as the thinnist and lightest 9mm pistol. And it is AFFORDABLE, too. The Kahr PM9 costs around $600, and the PF-9 less than $300, usually.

Me too, Bazooka. I've never owned a shotgun. I've a suspicion that you are correct in thinking shooting clays and shooting skeet are the same thing. Unless the "skeet" happens to be like that imaginery bird they sent me looking for when I was a kid at camp!

If you are a deer hunter, there is now new prey for your 30-06... (11-27) 20:07 PST Knoxville, Tenn. (AP) -- Police have lost red-light cameras to traffic accidents but never to gun play. "This is the first one that's been shot," Capt. Gordon Catlett said of the wounded camera at the intersection of Broadway Avenue and Interstate 640 — one of 15 camera-equipped intersections in the city. Clifford E. Clark, 47, was charged with felony vandalism and reckless endangerment for allegedly firing at least three rounds from a .30-06 hunting rifle at the camera, knocking it out of action. He was arrested after patrol officers heard shots around 2 a.m. Sunday, spotted a minivan leaving the parking lot of a closed business and pulled it over. Inside they found Clark and the high-powered rifle. Clark, now facing a $50 fine if convicted and loss of his rifle, refused to say anything about the incident to police, leaving the motive unclear. Catlett, who oversees the red-light camera program, said 6,798 drivers have been photographed running the red light at Broadway and I-640 and ticketed since the camera was installed in 2006. Clark was not one of them, he said. However, let it be noted: I, Mousegunner, do not urge anyone to actually go shoot one of these cameras!!! It's just an interesting news article!

I REALLY wanted to love my P-3AT....

Yup, straight to your door, but as indicated above, you need to be there to sign for it. -
Howdy, White Oak, I bet you live near Red Bank. Watch out for those traffic cameras! And welcome! Marshall www.mouseguns.com
