Yet another attempt at intimidation
inspecting1 replied to setsdw's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
I grew up in LA and the state laws for the castle doctrine apply to your vehicle also. If it was me I would have headed straight for a lawyers office and would have tried to own the city of Shreveport when it was all said and done. -
Ask around see if anybody else has the same problem then think about a rattlesnake:)

I watched apocalypse man tonight he did a good job of pointing stuff out some I had already thought of some that I had not. I find it strange there was no mention of firearms. -
Hey can anybody recommend a good deer biologist?

Interesting Article about Hunting Knives
inspecting1 replied to memphismason's topic in Hunting and Fishing
I have used a CaseXX yellow handle trapper on more deer and hogs than I can remember. It is also the one thing you can count on me having in my pocket any day of the year. Oh yea you don't have to split the pelvis you just cut to the ball and socket and your hind quarter is off. -

inspecting1 replied to inspecting1's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
I have not been in since I noticed the sign but as dragonman stated that is there excuse. Due to selling beer they do not allow you to carry in there store. -
Has anybody noticed the sign at Grampas in Clarksville banning HCP?

Yea I have been hunting up here for the past 8 years and have been hunting public land but I have kids that are getting to the age that I can take them with me and if you hunt public land you probably hunt out of climbers and it's kinda hard to climb a tree with a 5 year old with you . I guess I could tie them to my pull up rope and hang them on the side of the tree as long socil services sees me do it

I think we would need to know what you mean by changed hands

I'm looking for some lease land in Stewart CO. small plots with other woods surrounding would be fine. I would be hunting along with 1 or 2 other people. This would be a secondary area since I primarily hint LBL and Cross Creek. I would like a place to put up at least 1 box stand so that I can take my kids out and get them into hunting. They are young 3 and 5 so they will not be shooting. If they are not with me I primarily hunt out of climbing stands. I have been hunting or around hunting since I was old enough to go with my Dad say 30 years give or take a little.

OK Believe me I understand all of your complaints but as a kid in Louisiana the area that I lived in was/is probably one of the best areas to hunt for trophy whitetail in the state. My Dad and Grandpa farmed a lot of land there at one time. Then in the early 80's we lost it all. From there until I got out of high school times were tough for me and my Dad. every where I hunted I had to walk to and all of it was posted. The one time I was actually caught the guy told me that he my Dad had the money to get me on a club somewhere. That particluar year the deer that I killed fed us through the winter if not for that I'm not sure what we would have done. My Dad actually told me years later that it would have been real bad if not for those deer that year. YES I KNOW I WAS BREAKING THE LAW!!! BUT IT HELPS TO KNOW THE WHOLE STORY BEFORE YOU TRY TO BREAK IT OFF IN SOMEBODY. The funny thing is tht those guys still chase me through those woods to this day. A few years ago I was walking across the road there and one stopped me in the middle of the road and started to get on my case about hunting in those posted woods and told me that they would have caught me a few days before if I had not swam the bayou. The funny thing is I had just got home that night before and had been gone off working for the past 6 months. I told him the only thing that I could better luck next time. I've seen a lot over the years about taking kids hunting and continuing the hunting heritage but when was the last time you saw somebody ask one of the local kids to go hunting? I realize up here in TN ya'll have huge amounts of public land and that is great if you are close enought to walk to it. Now I stay on the up and up because I can afford to but just think about it next time.

Well I grew up in Louisiana and there were times that I remember that if it would not have been for that old Remington model 700 classic it would have been real tight around the house. My dad used to tell stories about my older sister going to the gun cabinet and pointing at that rifle to let him know it was time to kill a deer (this was before she could talk). Where I grew up at it is rated as one of the top areas in LA to hunt big bucks so you can imagine what club dues were like. I do not agree with selling wild game if you kill it eat it! The complaints I have with hunting clubs is whole other post.

OK I now that all of you Zombie killers out there have to be training an upcoming crowd to kill them when ya'll are gone. So here is my question My baby girl has a chipmunk 22 rifle thumb hole stock, free floated barrel, and these funky scope mounts that nothing I have or have seen fits. I either need to get a set of mounts that fit or a weaver style base that will fit the 3 pretapped holes on the rifle for a red dot or a holo sight so that she can start practicing.

The knives that actually make it to my pocket are well used when retired.

I'm trying to work up a load using a Barnes MRX 180gr. bullet I've run Magpro, IMR 4831SC, and one other powder I would have to walk down to the basement and look at my notes for it. I'm shooting a Winchester Model 70 SS. I have got this rifle to shoot 3 shot nickel groups at 100 yds using a seirra 165gr bullet. The seirra bullet was great when I was hunting bean fields back home but I want something that will retain it's weight better on impact. I'm loading out of the Speer #14 mostly and my rifle likes the max loads most of the time. I've been looking at my spent cases and the max loads are starting to flatten my primers a little. Is anybody else shooting this set up? and what powder, primer, are ya'll using ?
-
Well went by midsouth shooters supply and picked up a new set of houge grips and some .30 cal 180gr barnes mrx bullets. That was cool just walking in and picking my stuff. I also talked to the folks over at crossbreed holsters and should have mine by the end of net week.

This is a few of my blades that I have collected over the years. I have a few more pics but I'm not even sure how I got this pic on the page
