I "uesd" to own a 2-stage snow thrower. That was big time when you had a 2 stager!

Update on this: I’m a little surprised how fast this was taken care of. A buddy and I went to the property to put up “No Hunting” signs. The deer stand was already gone. I had the agent ask the seller about it just last Sat. They indicated no permission had been granted to hunt the property. So my buddy and I came to a few conclusions: They asked around to some family members about it, no one admitted to it but went and removed the stand. Or, some of the neighbors have seen me coming and going, the agents for sale sign is now gone, the neighbor figured they would remove the stand. Either way, it’s taken care of. Next hurdle it to get some of the land bush hogged. Looking for a source?

Toyota Suspends Sales of 8 Models After Accelerator Pedals Keep Sticking
Tempest455 replied to G27's topic in General Chat
Disagree just a little on the above comment. I may not be as much of gun expert as some but I am somewhat of a car expert. No car will have the ability to out power the brakes entirely. They are designed this way on purpose. Yes, rear wheel drive cars will out power the brakes and spin the tires. However, the car will remain stationary, unless the braking system is flawed or not in proper working order. Front wheel drive cars may creep when applying both. But when you are in motion under power, the brakes will stop the car. Also, for most newer cars, keep in mind; we are generally talking about 300 HP or less automobiles here. A good example: A number of years ago, I was making a pass in my drag car at the track. The throttle stuck wide-open around 115 MPH as I was nearing the traps. Do the math on how many feet per second I was traveling. Your first instinct is to hit the brakes, which I did. I slowed down considerably, which gave me time to think next, kill fuel pump and ignition. This was in a 600 HP car and I slowed just find under power. My point is, Toyota “may†have a problem w/ the accelerator. However, all the nonsense of people crashing etc. is idiot drivers and driver error. Accelerator stick, hit the brakes HARD and kill the ignition. Problem solved. -
Toyota Suspends Sales of 8 Models After Accelerator Pedals Keep Sticking

I have one of these "recall" cars. The mats have little clips that are to keep them in place. Reminds of the Volvo problem in the early 80's. People forget what the brake is for! -
Yep, sent me one yesterday.

Nice. I love revolvers, always have.

I will let him know. Not cheap for that little part but it was his Dad's rifle, so he wants if replaced.

I will chime in on the land part since I posted a topic on it. Ditto on not trusting people I don't know personally. Regardless if they are a gun owner or not. I'm not suggesting nobody is trustworthy, rather, I get to know people first before I welcome them into my home. Regarding hunting on private property. I'm not a hunter but have freinds that do and know many hunters. Again, being a gun owner has nothing to do with it. My concern is this situation is someone getting hurt (falling, shooting themself etc.) and trying to sue me for things I have worked hard for. It comes down to being responsible IMO.

Anyone know where to get a spare brass tube mag rod? Or will the Model 60 fit?

This sign might be effective.

As I once saw on a Mosin forums which probably is pretty accurate. Most soldiers of the era probably did not live long enough to clean their rifles.

Thanks for the feedback. Just heard from the agent that he is 99% sure they have not given permission. He said he will confirm by Monday. I will post signs by next week. My overall concern is, I will be walking this property with my kids and don't want anyone shooting on it (unless they are with me) for safety.

I did not know where to post this, so I thought this section would have some feedback. I’m closing on some property on Monday. The agent suggested I walk the property before Monday and look it over before closing. I did and noticed a deer stand and some pretty fresh brass near the stand. I called the agent to have them find out if the selling party is leasing or letting someone shoot on the land. If not, I guess I would consider it trespassing on private property. Just curious if anyone has ever found a stand on their property before and how you handled the situation? First thing after closing, a buddy and I are going to post a bunch of “Posted No Trespassing†signs. Other than that, not sure what else to do.

I shot one of those a few years back. In fact, that's the gun in my avatar. I had never heard of one before. First time out, a couple screws came loose on it and it would not shoot. The range had a few tools so we put it back together and it shot fine after that. Not a good 1st impression but it was on loan so it was free to shoot.

Yeah baby, yeah!

Ditto on above. Also, Sam's has some of the best cuts of meat around. You cannot beat the Porter House and Tenderloins they have, price per pound and quality.

Ditto!

Trousdale County, TN– shooting ordinance:
Tempest455 replied to Tempest455's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
It should work out good. We live in Hendersonville and it's only a 45 min drive from my house. That's less time than I spent driving to other ranges to wait my turn to shoot. I plan on being as respectful as possible about shooting times, so hopefully there will not be an issue. -
Trousdale County, TN– shooting ordinance:
Tempest455 replied to Tempest455's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
Update on this: The clerk was apparently full of ****. I found some land and was getting ready to make an offer. Prior to that, I stopped at the Trousdale County Sheriff. I spoke w/ two gentlemen that were very helpful. The sheriff explained there is no ordinance against discharging a firearm, even in the city for that matter. He did, however, proceed to explain that Trousdale for whatever reason tends to complain to the Sheriff often for gunfire noise. He indicated the most they will do is check out the complaint, make sure the people are shooting in a safe manner, ask a few questions and leave. He did rattle off 3-4 examples of things that he said would guarantee a visit. Those were situations like early in the AM, late at night, blatant recklessness etc. He also cited a specific situation where a neighbor of his moved from MI and does not like fireworks or guns. I said, looks like he moved to the wrong state! My interpretation after talking with them was, it would not be a problem but would probably see them in the future at some point when they are doing their job. I did buy the land, so I’m looking forward to using it. -
And you have to buy his ammo.

I got my boys a Marlin 60 w/ scope for X-mas to share when we go to the range. My 11 year old got a Crossman 1,000 FPS pellet w/ a scope fo his birthday and he's pretty darn good shot. I'm sure they will have a blast with the .22. He said if he can wear ear plugs and muffs, he would try my AR. I will be impressed if he does at tht age.

Just before the holiday season (of course) Sears just charged me up the *** for that same part. I asked to keep the old one so I can find it on-line cheaper in the future. My extended family came to stay and everytime someone went to the fridge or freezer, I told them to grab a $3.00 ice cube because I just paid to have it fixed and by god we were going to use it.
