I do not discriminate...I love pancakes, waffles and french toast. Of course you have to have sausage and bacon with them.

What a generous offer. Wish I was a little closer.

I feel for ya oldguy. The deer population in middle tn has gone crazy. I just check the twra regs and I was a little off on the number of anterless deer you can take. With a Sportsman license or a regular big game license and a type 94 permit, you can take 315 anterless deer in Unit L (middle tn). ding, ding ding...We have a winner. Personally I think this response sums it best so far.

That is the way I was raised also. Don't shoot something if you are not going to use it. I have been tempted but have never done it. I assumed most everybody would have this opinion but still wanted to hear what others had to say.

My hunting buddy and I have been discussing this for awhile. I am interested in yalls opinion. I know this will not apply everywhere but it does to middle Tennessee. The problem: We are over populated with deer. TWRA gives us very liberal limits when it comes to does. Last time I figured it up it was well over 100 does you could take during the season. I can't begin to count the number of does I have let walk because I didn't want to fool with processing the deer myself or pay somebody else to do it. So here is the question: Do you think is is ok to shoot a doe and only take the backstraps and tenderloins? In this scenario the rest of the deer would go to waste. It is pretty easy to pull the skin back and get the backstraps out. What takes so much time is boning the rest of the meat out. It is very tedious to bone out the different cuts, remove all the connective tissue and silver skin etc... So what do you all think? We need to reduce the number of does but should you or I kill more does if we are not going to use the whole deer?

My current favorite is my Marlin 1895 in 45-70 with the barrel cut down to 16 inches. It has a Leupold 2x scope mounted up front. Very fast target acquisition. It is a sweet little thumper!

That is pretty good advice above. Can not go wrong with any of the above rounds.

I used to have a 454 barrel for my T/C Encore. It was a custom made 20" barrel by Virgin Valley. With that set up it was a great little woods carbine. Never have shot the 454 out of a pistol. With the 20" barrel I felt confident out to 150 yards. I have had Ruger Super Blackhawk Hunters in 44mag and 480 ruger. I never felt comfortable shooting over 100yards with a 7.5" barrel.

Johnny came home and said Dad, Dad, look at my new bike. Dad asked johnny where he had gotten the new bike. Johnny said he got for sleeping with his teacher. Well Johnnys dad couldn't help but feel a little proud of his son. He tells johnny to go out and ride his new bike. Johnny says I will later, my butt is still sore.

Used to have a t-shirt that said: Cats...the other white meat Cat lovers have no sense of humor. Had more than one stranger come up to me to let me know how horrible my shirt was. They would get so riled up...it was great.

If that is all you have, it definitely better than nothing. We are also talking about black bears, not grizzlies. While they can be dangerous, most black bears will give you a wide berth.

Had a good friend whos father passed. These friends are good friends with Vince and Amy. Vince came to the funeral service and sang it a cappella. It was very moving and powerful.

A tip a friend gave me that works pretty well is to use a camcorder. A lot of camcoders have digital zooms out past 200x. I set up an older sony camcorder on a tripod and could see targets at 200 yards with no problem.

Nice pics and vids. What trail cam were these taken with? How does it know whether to take a pic of make a video? Thanks

Blount is gone for the rest of the season.... Punch at Boise ends Blount's season EUGENE, Ore. -- Oregon has suspended running back LeGarrette Blount for the remainder of the season for punching Boise State linebacker Byron Hout after Thursday night's loss. Immediately following Boise's 19-8 victory, an ESPN replay of the incident showed Hout taunting Blount as the teams converged onto the field. As a Broncos assistant coach moved to separate Hout from Blount, the Oregon senior threw a right cross that connected with Hout's right jaw. Hout went down and popped right back up. "Under no circumstance is fighting acceptable," the NCAA said in a statement Friday. "If it occurs before or during a game, the officials enforce the rules. If it occurs after a game, institutions and conferences decide how to address the situation. We trust our members to handle these situations appropriately. Sportsmanship is everyone's responsibility, including student-athletes, coaches, officials, institutions and fans. In a statement prior to Blount's suspension, Oregon president Richard Lariviere called the player's behavior "reprehensible." "We do not and will not tolerate the actions that were taken by our player. Oregon's loyal fans expect and deserve better," Lariviere said. "The University of Oregon Athletics Department is reviewing the situation and will take appropriate action, reflecting the seriousness of the player's behavior." Boise State spokesman Max Corbet told The Associated Press in an e-mail Friday that head coach Chris Petersen will not suspend Hout. Instead, Petersen will spend time with Hout this week to help him learn from what happened. Boise State replayed Blount slugging Hout several times on the giant screen in the north end zone of Bronco Stadium. Amid jeers from the crowd, Blount, who was being escorted from the field by Oregon assistant coach Scott Frost, got into another confrontation with fans. According to Blount, one fan brandished a chair at him and another punched him. Two police officers and Frost nearly carried Blount to the Boise State athletic building, where the visiting team dresses. After the game, a contrite Blount came out of the locker room. "I should have handled that situation a lot better than I did," he said. "I apologize. We will never have a game like this again. ... The game, as it went on, just got more frustrating and more frustrating for me in general. I shouldn't have said anything. I shouldn't have done anything." Blount, a 6-foot-2, 240-pound transfer from East Mississippi CC, rushed for 1,002 yards and a school-record 17 touchdowns last season. He carried the ball eight times for minus-5 yards and caught two passes for 13 yards against Boise State. Players from both sides, Blount included, met at midfield for a pregame handshake, the result of a sportsmanship initiative developed for this weekend's games by the American Football Coaches Association and the NCAA. Grant Teaff, the AFCA's executive director, said Friday the incident would not dampen the weekend. "This case points out that we still need to have a commitment to sportsmanship and respect," Teaff told ESPN's Joe Schad. "It was sad as I watched [the events in Boise], but the good news is nobody joined in. That would have been a brawl back in the day. This was one player who was frustrated and infuriated and lost control."

I ended up going with 400 Cor-bon. Same ballistics as 10mm. The advantage for me is that I just had to buy a 400 cor-bon barrel and have it fitted to my Kimber 1911. Now I am shooting the equivalent of 10mm for about 1/3 of the cost of a new Dan Wesson 10mm.

Pick up a bow holder yesterday at Bass Pro. It is the kind that is an arm that screws into the tree and folds out so you can hang your bow on it.
