  1. I bought the Nikon D5000 last summer and love it. I still haven't figured everything out on it yet, but the pictures I take look good to me.
  2. Grand Slam in the Keys. Blue Marlin over 500 pounds. Yellowfin over 200 pounds. Bonefish on a fly rod. Whitetail over 180".
  3. Nice catch! How has the crappie bite been? I fish Old Hickory and it has been ok. Catching a lot of fish just under 10", with a few keepers here and there.
  4. Get The Lions of Lucerne by Brad Thor. This is this first in the Harvath character series. Once you finish it, you will want to read the rest of the series.
  5. First of all I am truly sorry for your loss. My Mother worked in end of life care the last 10 years of her nursing career. At that time she was a patient care manager on a hospice floor of a long term care facility. She really loved it. Most of her patients were older, many with no family other than the nurses, docs, and techs that worked there. She always found comfort that the workers could become the family that a lot of the patients didnt have. The young patients were the ones she hated to see come in. As someone currently in nursing school, I can tell you it truly takes a special nurse to work a hospice floor. Having to see the families go through the pain of losing a loved one time and time again would break me I think. God bless them for it though.
  6. I will never, EVER, move into a neighborhood with a HOA becuase of all the stories I hear like this. Until you start paying my mortgage, you or your HOA don't have the right to tell me what I can and can't do on my own property. It's all bull#### if you ask me. Good luck with getting something worked out though.
  7. My .50 is named Fat Alice.
  8. Almost finished with Takedown by Brad Thor. I had never heard of him until I started the book the other day. Very good stuff. I will probably get the whole set to read.
  9. I had never had it until I went up to the distillery. I always keep it on hand now. Good stuff.

    Act of Valor

We went last night and the theater was packed. When the mother was reading the letter you could hear a pin drop. And when the names of the KIA SEALs started scrolling no one moved an inch, everyone waiting until the credits starting rolling to move. Overall I thought it was a good movie. It was worth going to see it in the theater for me. I really liked the "first person" shots. There were a few little weapons and tactical things that they did for Hollywood so to speak. But other than that it was good.

    Act of Valor

About 5-6 friends and I are going to see it tomorrow night. Can't wait.

    Useltons 1911's

Everything you said is 100% true except the semi retirement part. He works all the time, but if he wants to take a week or two off to go fishing or play golf he does. Besides that he is working on guns 4-5 days a week. FWIW, I usually talk to Sam once a week.
  13. I've got a flag patch on my Knights Armament hat that I wear everyday. If it offends someone, that's their problem. I'm not trying to be a poser or a "tactical Tom". I got the hat for free and needed something to go on the velcro, so I got a flag.
  14. My brother and I both have SBR GSG's. As does one of my good friends. We bought the thread adapter and run cans on them with no problems. They are not the best made guns, but I'm not going to be doing anything other than punching holes in paper with it. And ours have run 100% problem free since we have had them.
  15. Well I guess he is 3 for 3. The same thing happened at the stores in Goodlettsville. Maybe he won't screw so many customers when he goes under this time......Who am I kidding, I'm sure he will.
  16. There is a 16 week wait for a Larue OBR .308. They are worth it though.
  17. They were all lost in a boating accident.
  18. There is already a pic thread for NFA toys here: http://www.tngunowners.com/forums/class-iii-nfa-firearms-accessories/28268-show-tell-post-your-pics.html And a pic thread for black rifles here: http://www.tngunowners.com/forums/show-tell/1480-post-pictures-your-evil-black-rifle.html
  19. The show in Louisville is the best within a couple of hours Nashville.

    New Sig TacOps-TB

    That's a sweet set up.
  21. I ordered a .308 OBR for a guy yesterday and they said expect 16 weeks for them to build it.
  22. Get a Colt/Bushmaster and trick it out if you are going to spend the $1300 that a Red Jacket would cost. But you can build a better AR for a lot cheaper if you do it yourself.
  23. I bought mine at the SHOT Show from Dan a couple of years ago and until this thread I had no idea how hard they are to come by now. You may come across one at a gun show or at Knob Creek but other than that they seem almost impossible to get.
