  1. I also got the Operators 2.
  2. Can't help with your question but if you want some VZ's you need to get them today. They are running their black Friday sale through the end of today. Just put "black20" in the coupon code box when you check out and it will take 20% off of your entire order. I ordered two sets of grips on Friday.
  3. That why I put in there that they can carry whatever they qualify with. They are issued the Sig and the XD though.
  4. Wow man, that's harsh.
  5. I ordered two sets of the Operator II grips yesterday.
  6. Goodlettsville PD carries Sig P220's. The SWAT team has Springfield XD 45's. They can also carry whatever they can qualify with. Robertson County Sheriffs Department has HK USP 45's. White House PD carries Glock 22's. Ridgetop PD is issued Glock 21's, but can carry anything that they qualify with.
  7. Congrats UK fans. The streak was bound to end sometime. Tough loss but what can you do? They just played a bad game today. No excuses. This time next year we will know if Dooley needs to be looking for a new job. Some (a lot) of UT fans are idiots. They came into this season expecting 10 wins and to be fighting for the east. And when that didn't happen they think firing Dooley is the best way to turn it around. Well guess what Billy-Bob, when you fire Dooley all those underclassmen who have been getting tons of playing time the last two years and are pretty talented will be gone. That top 15 recruiting class will be gone. UT will be starting all over. Again. The program will be set back 4-5 more years. Again. We will finish last in the east. Again. As I've said before on this site, Dooley might not be the man for the job. But I don't think we will really know unless we see what he can do next year.
  8. Nice one! Congrats!
  9. Just got back home. We went to Electronic Express in Rivergate. They were supposed to open at 11. We pulled up at 10:20, there was a line about 40 yards long. We stood in line until 10:30 and they opened the doors. We walked in, my brother grabbed the tv he wanted and we jumped in line. We were walking out of the store at 11 on the dot. No one acted crazy, or rushed the door. The line to was to the back of the store when we left but other than that it looked like they had it under control. After we left there we decided to drive by Best Buy to see what it looked like. It was crazy. If any of you guys are familiar with the Rivergate Best Buy, people were lined up all the way down the sidewalk past Dick's and on past Old Navy almost to the end of the shopping center. There is no way in hell I would wait in that line. No. Way. I don't care if they were giving tv's away. It was the same at HH Gregg. I'll stick with Electronic Express, I have had good luck there for the last four years.
  10. Just thankful for my family. Really enjoyed my time with them today. This was the first time in a while that we have had my cousin home for Thanksgiving. It was nice seeing him spend time with his two little kids. I also thought about his brothers in arms that couldn't spend today with their families, and how thankful I am for them.
  11. We made some apple pie in a jar with some of east Tennessee's finest shine this afternoon after we got through eating. We have been sipping on it for about an hour. Probably switch to Makers when I get home.
  12. I have went to Electronic Express the last few years and picked up some great deals. I think they opened at either 4 or 5, but 30 minutes before they open they start letting a few people in at a time. It hasn't ever been bad when they do it this way. After I leave there we usually just go eat breakfast at Cracker Barrel or Waffle House and go home. We spend the rest of the day just hanging out and watching football. I'm really not looking for any electronics this year. So the only thing I plan to buy is a set of VZ grips for my 1911 from their website. They are having a 20% off black Friday sale. My brother, my cousin, and I are going to make a trip to Frugal MacDoogal to stock up on booze for the weekend and the holiday season.
  13. I'm looking for some advice about smoking turkey. I am going to do a bone in breast. I planned to use apple or pecan wood, or maybe a combo of the two. I also planned on injecting it and putting some cajun rub on it. About how long per pound does it take to cook? I've heard just until it gets to 160 in the thickest part. Also what temp do you smoke at? Some say 200-220, others say 325 for a crispy skin. We are doing another whole turkey in one of the "oil less" turkey friers too. And I'm sure someone will bring ham, they always do.
  14. I have a box of 9mm, .40, .45, 5.56, and .308. I think it's a cool novelty.
  15. I just like it because it is different. You see the half rail Operators all them time, but the full length ones are hard to come by. I probably won't ever run a light on or carry it. I just like it. RIA's are good to go. I will probably pick up one of their full rail guns before too long.
  16. When I bought my Dad a Ruger No.1 for Christmas a few years ago I gave him a box of .338 ammo. When he opened it up he told me he didn't have a .338. About that time I had my brother walk out with his new gun. It only works if the person who is getting the gift doesnt already have a gun in the same cailber that they are getting.
  17. That's him. He worked with my Grandfather for 20+ years at the rail road and I have know him most of my life. I think all the local gun shops know him. Great guy.
  18. A good friend of mine lives here in the Nashville area but hunts a family farm in western KY. There are only two people allowed to hunt on the farm, himself and his nephew. Neither one of them bow hunt but go to the farm every few weeks just to check on things. Well on one trip up there a couple of months back they had heard that someone had shot a pretty good deer on thier farm with a bow but didn't find it. So they rode around a little that weekend but didn't find anything. They didn't think anymore of it. Fast foward to this past weekend. My friend is in his 70's so he gets in the blind and stays there the entire hunt. His nephew was out walking around when he came across the deer they they think the poacher shot. He is an 11 pointer and pretty good in my book. So my buddy brought it back to Nashville and decided he didn't want to mess with it and he gave the skull to me. I want to do a European style skull mount. I have never done any kind of taxidermy, but didn't figure this would be too hard of a project. The only thing I am worried about is that there is still velvet on the base of the antlers. So what do I need to start this process and how difficult do you guys think it will be? Pics of skull.
  19. Just to clear my comment up, this is not a cop bash guys. This is from living in Sumner County my entire life and hearing countless stories and experiencing it myself. I have two friends that work for HPD and countless LEO friends so I am not bashing them in any way.
  20. Well it was Hendersonville. They are known for being "aggresive". I'm not surprised.
  21. I know of departments in my area that carry Springfield XD's, HK USP's, and Sig P220's. It's probably a toss up between those and throw S&W M&P's in there too but I don't know of any local departments that carry them.
  22. Yea it is the same bullet with a green "tip". I got some .45 last week. I'm going to pick a box of each just to put up also. It is a really cool box.
  23. I always knew something was wrong with that fella. I always thought that he was just a "yankee", guess it was more than met the eye. :D
  24. Yea Daniel saw in another thread where I was looking for one and called me and told me about it. I'm glad you didn't get it, lol.
