This Andrew you speak of, might he be the young shaved head guy? He's a great guy ive know him about 15 of my 22 years. He just bought a P30 himself, and i think he has already sold or traded it. They are sweet guns, i love the HK45 and the P30. -Jason G

Ive read about this type of thing over on subguns. Joe is right you can demill it and sell it for parts. I think that you can donate to a museum, maybe using a form 10? Joe might be able to tell you more about this or you can ask over at www.subguns.com, someone there will know. -Jason G

Here is some info I found on AR15.com about the .45 AR's http://www.ar15.com/forums/topic.html?b=3&f=15&t=345390 I know where you are comming from, I bought a Ceiner .22 AR conversion back in October and I love the thing. I shoot it more than I do 5.56/.223 through my AR. It is so much cheaper, I can get 550 rounds of .22 for $14 compaired to .40 cents a round for 5.56/.223. There are plenty of companies that sell the 9mm uppers and parts kits out there. Again 9mm is cheaper to shoot than .223. My dad built a 9mm AR from a J&T kit and a Double Star lower and he loves it. I went for the HK style 9mm carbine and built a MP5 clone from Bobcat Weapons BW5 and SBR'd it and i love it. -Jason G

I feel your pain. I lost a deer my first year of hunting. I think I was like 14 or 15. I shot an 8 pointer and he dropped. When my dad walked closer to him he got up and ran off. We backed out for a few hours and came back, we never found the first drop of blood, anywhere. The thing is I dont know what caused him to drop like that. We looked and looked but never found anything. I came home that night and just felt so bad, I couldnt help but to think he was out there suffering. Im not going to lie i shed tears over it. But that lesson I learned very early in my hunting career was very important. I repect the animals I hunt now more than ever. We should respect the wild game we hunt, they deserve a prayer after their harvest to give thanks to them and to their maker. Thanks for your story. -Jason G

That is one thing that draws me to to the .338LM is reloading it. I think it would be a fun challenge to work up a real accurate load for a round that is not the most popular and when you finally do get it dialed in you know that you did everything thing, from loading the ammo to sighting the gun in and finally making the shot. -Jason G

http://www.grafs.com/product/192065 http://www.grafs.com/product/192062 Is where i saw it, that may be for 10 rounds, the website is not very clear. Sorry for any confusion. http://www.rrarms.com/catalog.php?prod=AHDY8230 Is showing Hornady 250 Gr. BTHP for $74.44, but they are out of stock.

Heys guys thanks for all of the input. I have a .338 Rem. Ultra Mag thats is a "hunting" rifle. Even though I havent ever shot anything but paper with it. This gun is going to be a paper gun too but a tactical style rifle. Everything I have read about the .338 Lapua has been that it is the stuff for shots over 500 yards, when you dont want to go to the .50BMG. As far as the ammo I have found it for around $50 a box, I thought that the $120 stuff seemed high. I do want the Lapua so I am going to start looking for a Remington 700 Police in .338, it comes with everything I want and is relatively cheap compaired to other .338 Lapuas. I think it will be a while before I find one, as the more i have researched them the harder they seem to be to find. In the mean time I am going to pick up a 700 Police in .308 and put me some good glass on it and start practiceing with it. When the Lapua comes around the bend I will be ready to move out to 500+. Thanks again guys. -Jason G

Hey guys I going to get me a new long range "tactical" type rifle. I have decided on the Remington 700 Police. But I havent decided on the caliber. The .338 Lapua is the hot thing in long range rifles now. I do re-load so find ammo wont be a problem when i get the components to re-load. Thye .338 is more expensive to shoot but its not like a AR where you shoot a ton of rounds through it. The .308 is the old trusty round but everyone has them. Any of you guys have experience with the .338 lapua? Any suggestions on different rifles or calibers that you like better are welcome. Thanks, -Jason G

The NRA has been screwing gun owners since before I was born. They didnt start standing up for "assault weapons" until about 2004, when the ban was ending. They stood around while the "Firearms Owners Protection Act" was passed in 1986, which banned the manufacture of machine guns for civilian sales, and did nothing. What pisses me off about the NRA is they kinda pick which guns they want to fight for, yes everyone should have a hunting shotgun but we wont fight for your right to have a AK. They also do use scare tactics to get more people to join, I had a lady tell me the other day that she read in a NRA magazine that after Obama took office on Tuesday you wouldnt be able to buy a gun on Wed. Im down for telling people the truth about the situation, not scaring them into sending me $35 to join. But they have the most money and political pull so I guess they can do what ever they want. I guess they are a necessary evil. Just my .02. -Jason G

Front pocket carriers - Do you ever think....
Jasongar8 replied to a topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
I carry a Kahr PM40 in my front pocket all the time, in a pocket holster and I havent ever really thought about it. I trust my holster and dont carry anything else in there that would get in the trigger guard. But that is a good point to bring up. -Jason G -
Your and your family will be in my prayers. Cancer took my grandmother from me in 2007, it is tough but with your family around you and confidence that the Lord knows what he is doing you will make it through this. -Jason G

I want one of the new Delta Elites, but Colt cant seem to get them made in the year since they released them at SHOT 2008. So if I had to buy one now it would be the Dan Wesson (CZ) Classic Bobtail in 10mm. The gun fits my hand very good and it comes with factory night sites. Check it out if you want a 10mm 1911. -Jason G

Right on brother, congrats. -Jason G

It is a very thin gun, but again it wont fit in your pocket. It feels good in my hand but if you have larger hands it prob. will feel too small. It takes down like a glock. They do retail higher than a glock. Another thing i would think about is what caliber you want, i would go with the 9mm because i think the .40 would be a handful in the little thin package. Personally for the money I would go with a Kahr, but thats just my .02. -Jason G

When you give up the ball 3 times in the red zone then you deserve to loose. That will kill any team no matter who they are. Oh well.... -Jason G

Congrats on the MK23 and thanks for the service. Ive never heard of thoses cans, it kinda looks like a Knights, but at half the price. I hope it works out for you. I saw a real SOCOM at Knob Creek, but it was like 5k, so i guess ill have to settle on the MK23. They are a huge a$$ pistol but one I think i need to have. Congrats again and thanks. -Jason G

What happens if u cap the BG pointing the gun at the clerk and his muscles tense up when the bullet hits him and he shoots and kills the clerk? You are up sh%t creek then. i think that i would un-holster my gun then try to back up and be a good witness, if he came toward me or pointed the gun at me then i would have to shoot. But i dont know for sure what i would do until i was actually in that situation. -Jason G

Yea you have to be a member of a CMP approved organization, BUT you can sign up for the Garand Collectors Association down in Anniston. The next thing you need to is prove you are a U.S. citizen, so take a copy of your birth certificate with you if you want to bring them home. I ran into this problem on the first trip but luckly my dad had his pilots license with him and they said that would work. Another thing about bringing them home the same day is the taxes. You will pay around $40-$42 dollars in taxes if you want to walk out with them. But if you ship them its only $22 dollars, so you can save $20 bucks that way. I had to have mine first one come home with me on the same day so I paid the taxes, but the second ones we had shipped. They are packed very well and made it in a timely manner. Also while you are down there buy as much ammo as you can afford, the .30-06 is a very good buy between .27-.30 cents a round for good stuff, its LC or Greek. It is cheaper to pay the taxes on the ammo then it is to have it shipped so take a truck or a friend that has one. If I can help you in any other way just let ma know. -Jason G

If you bought it as a bare receiver then on the 4473 it should be "receiver" when the store employee had to write down what is on the third page. The form specifically has pistol, revolver, rifle, shotgun, receiver, and other. So you should be able to make into a pistol, rifle, or SBR with a form 1. -Jason G

There isnt one in TN. There are only two "stores" where you can go pick one out. The is one in Anniston Alabama, which it the one I have been to and there is one at Port Clinton Ohio. The trip to Anniston isnt bad about 4 hours from Nashville. They had a great selection of Garands when I was down there on Oct. 31 and Dec. 17. Go to www.thecmp.org and click on "South Store Location" on the left hand side. That website will get you squared away to go get your Garand. I got two service grades, a April 1944 Springfield and a H&R post war, they were both $595 and were in great shape. If you have any more questions just ask and I will help any way I can. -Jason G
