  1. I've had a 10mm fetish for a little while now. I finally decided on the Glock 20. I picked the full size over the G29 for a few reasons: 1)I wanted to shoot the heavier 10mm loads and the large frame should be better for recoil 2)I'm not going to carry it 3)I like the higher capacity magazines (15+1). I bought mine at Craig's Firearms in Knoxville and was out the door for right at $500 (military pricing, includes 3 magazines). I ordered some 165gr FN reloads from Georgia Arms and had them in about three days. I also picked up some Hornady 180gr XTPs and ordered another 500 rounds of 180gr JHP "Canned Heat" from Georgia Arms that is currently backordered. On Wednesday I had the afternoon free so I went up to ORSA. Got there around 2pm and had the whole plinking range to myself. I put up a target stand and threw out some golf balls, tennis balls, and an old plastic coffee can. I ran 50 rounds of the GA reloads through it and had zero issues. I would have liked to shoot more but I was only able to get 200 rounds and I didn't want to burn through all of it in one session. I shot off-hand and intentionally limp wristed it and couldn't make it have a problem. The recoil is snappy but manageable. By the end of it I was able to walk the coffee can from 7 yards out to about 20. I think I'm going to add a Streamlight TLR-1 and make this my bedside gun after I've run a few more rounds through it. Think I may try some Double Tap and some Buffalo Bore, but I don't expect any problems with either. As for the obligatory pictures, I don't have any. Sorry. I promise you though, it looks just like a Glock.
  2. Looks great Caveman, Matt really is the best at his craft!
  3. Sorry, was going with the title of the post. "Stay classy, Round Lake" just doesn't have quite the same ring to it.
  4. You have to host them somewhere else (photobucket, etc) and link them here. I think there's a sticky around here somewhere on it but I can't tell you where. Good luck.
  5. I don't have another clappy person icon, but +1 for what they said...
  6. Hey Magic, I'm shooting at ORSA on Monday afternoon with some buddies. Any chance you'll be around then?
  7. Major Kong is the Slim Pickens character in Dr Strangelove (you know, fighting the Rooskies). I fly in the AF and miss the good old SAC Cold War days.
  8. I knew I didn't want to read this story when I saw the post title. Wish I hadn't. May that POS burn in hell after a long, slow, painful death.
  9. Bill's Outpost in Maryville had some today. Didn't check the price but they had a dozen or so boxes.
  10. Moreland, Did you go through Gunbroker or is there a good local resource for used NFA stuff?
  11. Try posting this at salon.com and you'll get the answers you're looking for.
  12. Seems like it's all been said already. Happy Easter. Remember why we celebrate this day. God bless.
  13. Man, I hate zombies. Looks like a fun day.
  14. I just got back from visiting with Mike at Predator Customs. I think for my impatience and short term gratification I'm going to get an AR pistol lower and a Predator 11.5" upper (threaded barrel, quad rail, flip up front and rear sights). Then I can buy/build a rifle lower for the SBR and not worry about the wait time for the stamp. Am I missing anything? Any huge flaws in this plan other than having an extra pistol lower in the end?
  15. That's definitely something I was considering. Any truth to the story that most suppressor companies won't warranty suppressors on SBRs less than 10"?
  16. I'd definitely be interested in seeing your Predator Custom. Thanks.
  17. That was brilliant. Texas for the win.
  18. Okay, I understand the basics and I think I've decided I want a SBR. I really like the 7.5" Noveske Diplomat, but I'd also really like to spend less than their asking price. I've also seen Bravo Company and a couple of others that offer SBR packages. Can someone help me weed through the information out there? Who are the best dealers in the SBR world? Am I better off (cost and quality wise) buying a SBR upper and then building my own lower? Any help is appreciated.
  19. Magic, I think I have an extra application I ordered in case I made a mistake on mine. If we're able to meet up to shoot I'll bring it for you.
  20. Heard about this earlier today. The Admiral needs an award for restraint. I would have lost all my rank for the WTF look I'd have given this moron. Our congressional leadership...
