  1. ORSA. It's only $120 a year for membership and you can shoot pretty much anything except for .50 BMG. Benchrest range (out to 200 yards), indoor pistol, plinking range, plus a 1,000 yard range for long shooting. It's the best deal in East Tennessee (unless you own enough land to have your own range).
  2. I likey lots. Did Predator do your barrel threading?
  3. I really want one to go with my PS90. Where'd you get yours?
  4. I don't know of any others, but I saw one of the Gadsden Sigs at the Knoxville gun show last weekend and it looked really nice. Too bad they didn't do a 220 with the Gadsden theme.
  5. Sorry about that Slappy, I thought you were probably kidding but I didn't want to insult you in case you weren't.
  6. When my buddy ordered ours he did it by phone. Also, I wouldn't recommend ordering the inexpensive sheath with it. It's decent quality but it's just a generic sheath, not fitted to the knife. I think I'm gonna take mine to the guy in Harriman that OhShoot and I met at the gun show last weekend and have him make me a sheath for it.
  7. It's not a backstop. It's just the wall down in my basement where I put it together. I shoot out at ORSA. I did take it out Monday and it performed as I'd hoped. I do need to get a couple of sandbags for weight on the base in the event of a windy day.
  8. I love mine. No recoil and pretty damned accurate. Got it from Bud's for around $1400. 50 round mags are on sale at Palmetto State right now for $13 each. You should be able to get ammo for about $20/50 rounds for the plinking stuff. I've got a Primary Arms Microdot red dot scope on mine and it works perfectly.
  9. I believe you're correct on the differences. I like the M4 well enough that I just bought a second one for my AR, along with a PA Microdot for my PS90.
  10. Thanks for sharing this. It's been a great read.
  11. I'm with you. I absolutely love my 522. I've got the Primary Arms Comp M4 clone on mine. I wouldn't trade it for any other "AR-22" on the market.
  12. I like it a lot. I see a project in the near future. Like tomorrow.
  13. I got it all at the Depot (they're closer to me by about a half a mile). The pipe was $1.90 for a 10 foot section. I bought a contractors pack of t-fittings and some end caps and elbows for the base. I'm taking it to ORSA to test it out tomorrow morning.
  14. That's where I got my screen name. I love that movie. Check out the scene where Kong is listing out the survival kit contents. It's classic.
  15. A friend ordered these just before he deployed to the desert. Scrapyard is owned by Dan Busse, who is the brother of Jerry Busse (Busse Combat). The knife is an absolute beast. Made from SR-101 steel (58-60 on the Rockwell scale), .333 inches thick and 13" long. The first thing I did with it was chop on a 2x4 (in my defense the 2x4 was looking at me funny) and it went through it like a really heavy, sharp knife cutting through a stick of wooden butter. I'm not entirely sure what I'm going to do with this one but it's too hardy not to use. I'll find something...
  16. I shoot mainly at ORSA, and when I go to ORSA the plinking range is my favorite place. The irritation has been searching the recycling bin for plastic bottles to shoot at and cardboard boxes to post targets on. As a solution I built this. I'm into it for about $20. It's made of 3/4" PVC (2' and 1' sections) and all the joints are friction fit. I can pull the top off of the base and lay it flat into the back of my truck for transport or disassemble the whole thing. The four one foot sections sticking off the side are for hanging bottles or whatever to shoot. Critiques welcome. Oh, and the $20 investment did get me several extra sections of 2' and 1' pipe in the highly unlikely event I ever accidentally shoot one of the posts. Front view Back view Front view with bottle attached Thanks for looking. -MK
  17. I had a great time guys. Thanks for letting me hang out. Sorry I missed out on lunch but the family needed some time today too. Looking forward to the next one.
  18. Okay, I've met a few of you guys but I'd like to meet the rest. Where do you all meet? Also, for Magiccarpetrides, if you're coming you can go ahead and bring that GSG and I'll take it off your hands for you. You know you're going to sell it eventually...
  19. 80% is the number I've heard, although I couldn't tell you where I heard it. I'm hoping to find a decent deal on one of these at the Knoxville gun show this weekend.
  20. That's a beauty! I personally like the Browns more than Wilson or Baer.
