  1. They are a little high, but very well made. I got this one pre-owned but never used for about half of retail, or else I probably wouldn't have it.
  2. You're welcome to dig around in the East TN meet pictures to see how fat I am. I'm the guy in the yellow t-shirt with the shaved head. I exercise, eat right and generally do the things I need to in order to remain in shape to do my military job. I'm fortunate to not be fat. I'm also fortunate to not be a shallow little wanna-be who gets off on making fun of others.
  3. This is probably the most special knife I have. My wife has her degree in metal design. She can weld, work a forge and is generally pretty damned good at it. This is her first attempt at a knife, completely from scratch (not a kit project).
  4. I got this to use as an EDC while in uniform but just haven't quite figured out how I want to carry it. It's a double-action, out-the-front with a strong spring and great lockup.
  5. I bought this one from the JD forum classifieds. What a tank of a knife. For those not familiar with Zero Tolerance, these knifes are a collaborative effort between Strider Knives and Ken Onion. The blade is S30V.
  6. I bought this one swearing I wasn't going to lock it away and baby it. Now that I have my hands on it it's so nice that I almost hate to use it. I may end up like a lot of others just buying a Blackjack to use and keeping this one in the safe til the Zombie Apocalypse. Randall #16SP with green micarta scales
  7. Thanks for the offer Armgdnman. When I read your post I realized that I too have a spare A2 stock complete with extension tube lying around. Man I've gotta start looking around before I ask questions...
  8. Is it too late to join in? I'm about a 98.875% certainty right now.
  9. Anyone have a good suggestion for where I can get an M16 A1 extension tube around the Knoxville area? I checked with my local guy but he'd have to order one. Thanks. Edited to add: I don't need the buffer or the spring, just the tube.
  10. Thanks for the info. I hadn't heard about the quality control issues. Hope it's resolved.
  11. Benchmade is overpriced but Emerson is a good deal? Huh?
  12. For those of you who like Double Tap, they're currently having an anniversary sale. 15% off, coupon code is ANNIVERSARY. I just picked up some 10mm 230gr Equalizers and some 180 gr controlled expansion. Woo hoo!!
  13. I've got the ESEE and a Scrapyard (The Regulator, not the SOD). They are both ridiculously sturdy knives but the ESEE just feels better to me. I would trust either one with any task I can think of.
  14. I'm not sure how a non-driver having a drink will cause kids to die. I also haven't seen anyone defend the position that drinking and driving is a good idea.
  15. FTW. Too bad not everyone can see the simple truth in this.
  16. Hey Armgdnman, I love your avatar. Where is good old Curtis when you need him?
  17. I got lucky. I was there in June. It was still cold at night but no snow.
  18. I'm a full time guy with the ANG right now and also had 11 years in the Army guard. PM me if you have any specific questions and I'll be glad to help you.
  19. In 17+ years of military schools, Air Force Survival School was the toughest and most useful course I've ever been through.
  20. From what I've been able to find the Ripple is made in Taiwan and the blade is Japanese steel.
  21. I carry this blur- Amazon.com: Kershaw Ken Onion Black Blur Folding Knife with Speed Safe: Home & Garden The price is right and it's done everything I've asked of it.
  22. Nice collection Steve. I'm loving my ZT302. Did you do your own lanyards?
  23. FTW. If the fire department had helped him even though he hadn't paid his annual fee, who do you think is going to pay the fee next year? The fire department would have set a precedent.
